Aint those the same tires that are on the McLaren f1 car I wonder if this has a 2 speed gearbox because there is a gear lever icon on the box. -

Hi, I made some more progress on my 42157 MOD WIP since posting in this thread Today I built a lot more of it as you can see from the images, all that is left to do now is the cabin bodywork, the front claw and its arm and also find a way to get some pistons and conrods in black in a purist way. Then it will be time to motorize it as much as possible, I think some spike prime small angular motors would be good but they are white and medium blue :O Here are some larger photos Please as always feel free to use this thread to post own MODs of this set also. Regards Snipe.

I strongly think that it will be. hell, I was having a bad day until I came home and saw this news! Oh also you get that technic funky connector 3L in dark blue: (42797) And some new ball pieces that might be a good size to fit into technic parts, not sure yet, they are bigger than GBC and also bigger than Zamor balls. Also the technic sphere comes in trans clear for the first time (32474)- 5,465 replies

You could only put 3 bevel gears in the differentials, that should save 2 gears per differential (4 total) Also, even half bevel gears can be used as spur gears as long as it is not with a double bevel gear. E.g. a 16 tooth and a 20 tooth single bevel gear meshes just fine as a spur gear pair. I think 2016 was such a good year for technic that that the only way up from there, was down. Compare this set to the 42054 claas xerion (which came out along side 42055 and 42056) all 3 of which were flagship level in their own right. Also for 1h, we got the heavy lift helicopter. Now we have 42157 and well... it has less parts, no "B model", no electronics, less functions and mechanisms, just as many new parts or recolours and about just as many pneumatics. edit: oh, and someone made a 42154 MOD with 8 motors (drive, steering front, steering rear, front attachment, rear attachment, PTO, cabin rotation, pump), LED's with a PF switch, pendular front axle, two buwizz 2.0, 4 wheel drive with the newer CV joints , planetary hubs. etc. So, yeah while 42157 is "good" it's not "2016 technic good".

If and when more progress is made I will make a dedicated thread unless someone creates a mod thread already for the original set, in which case I will post on there. Here is my 42157 John Deere tractor WIP mod. Pneumatics replaced with linear actuators. As many motors as possible, connected to BUWIZZ 3.0.

This new blade piece (3885) might come in useful for bodywork: It accepts a bar on the end by the looks of it.- 5,465 replies

42156 - Peugeot 9X8 Hypercar
SNIPE replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Since people are already posting mods in this thread ill just post it here also; Someone added a 7 speed gearbox, shift levers beside the seat and cosmetic changes: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-146834/SKC_LEGO/peugeot-9x8-pro/#details -
Looking great, and great effort, I would have given up almost instantly.. I can now confirm from your model that there is 6 cranks so therefore it does indeed have 6 cylinders like the real tractor (only 3 were ever shown in the photos of this set) I wonder if it comes with any of the new 3x5 alternating hole beams.. I see the new pin connectors that originally came in the small dump truck (42147) as well as 3x19L, 15L,11L,and 7L alternating hole beams :) #7 and #8 panels in both black and green, and a lot of green re-colours as well as quite a few gears in this set. Oh and also the 98989 returns in black!

I know these are available in red and dark bluish gray but these look black to me. Also, new technic cylinder part in black, white, and a few other colors. Here is 4 of them in black: edit: darn it looks like the ratcheting joint is part of the top of the cylinder... so we cant just use it as a straight section inbetween two of the large technic maraconi pieces. Lego really screwed up by making the diameter of the large technic macaroni pieces just shy of 2L and not 2L exactually- 5,465 replies

Soo 1 smol turntable for the claw 2 smol turntables for the pendular rear axle 2 large turntables for the steering/boom pivot 3 pneumatic switches 5 XL pneumatic cylinders, (one in yellow , four in dark bluish gray) 2 smol linear actuators 2 daytona large bevel gears 2 heavy duty diff cases 2 daytona small bevel gears 4 hubs (probably just hubs from 42125 and not planetary hubs, I dont see any portal hubs) 2 green 3x19x1 girder frames 2 new claw pieces 2 new A frame girders engine, plenty of gears, plenty recolors, big tyres I will for sure replace the pnumatics with XL linear actuators and add control plus and buwizz 3.0!

liking the new recolors and the 3x5 flip flop beams EDIT: nope, the 1989 batmobile windscreen does not look right when I made a mocup in LDCAD :|I guess we will just have to have no windscrwindscrwindscreen. Are the wheels, tires, and wheel arches the same as on the 42154 ford gt? -

I wonder if the UCS 1989 batmobile windscreen (56074pb01) could be used to make a MOC (or a MOC-ery :P) of this set? Well, I guess ill be trying that in LDCAD in a few hours but with the original body work first -

Yeah. and also if you connect two of those new panels together there is a slight gap in-between them which is VERY VERY STUPID.- 5,465 replies
