That would be cool. There is that Light Stone Grey they ran for just 6 years and only molded 39 different pieces in.

Ok minimod. Then either ignore it instead of trying to Xidictate what people discuss, or report the post and let actual moderators sort it out. A number of people have been speculating about this issue when the original Ideas submission was approved. Whether or not a product from the largest toy manufacturer in the world produced under that company's biggest partnership would actually be sold within most populous country in the world due to the inclusion of a character that has had feature length films banned because they contained that character is relevant to the set and topic. This is a fantastic review Oky. I should have stated that earlier. The photography, highlighting of specific aspects, inclusion of source materials. Most excellent.

HuИny and legos, a winning combination. Still can't believe they included a currently serving prominent political head of state in a set!

[REVIEW] 43181 Raya and the Heart Palace
koalayummies replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Excellent review. Intrigued by the slugadillo; according to wikipedia "Raya's best friend and trusty steed who is a mix of armadillo and pill bug.". Pilladillo? Largemadillidiidae? Wow I had never seen that set before! -
Agreed. Millions of people say legos. There's also no "bluish gray" or "bright light yellow" but the same dogmatism that's constantly applied to the company's name is for some reason not applied to other official Lego terminology. And that's also still on them because they now own bricklink and can finally fix that. Till then legos are cool.

Mmmmmm! Plus its only one shoe! They need to complete the pair. I wish I thought of that. And worked at Lego.

How do you keep track of which parts you own?
koalayummies replied to howitzer's topic in General LEGO Discussion
One method I frequently use while building: I'll often need for example 6 specific pieces and already have 4 of them in my hand but just need to know if I should keep searching the unsorted bins for more. So I'll use Brickset or Bricklink, enter/locate that part and view every set that piece has appeared in. It's easy enough to keep track of every set purchased. So that's one way. -
LOL until now I hadn't seen the shoe. That's awesome. You will now build popular Lego set shoe and shoelace; shoe and shoelace, one is meaningless without the other.

Yep you've summarized one of the best aspects of Lego; the replay/rebuild/reusability. The extremely broad versatility of this highly sophisticated interlocking brick system. Its also a nice change from many other hobbies/entertainment and aspects of life. There's inspiration abound and the sharing and enjoying of ideas, creations and possibilities with others builders. As well as constantly being augmented with new pieces/connections that are always expanding the creative potential.

Hahaha! Every member's topic creation history is viewable to all; there's a distinct pattern here.

We could have prevented a lot of the knee-jerk reactions from those who immediately hit reply after seeing the term 'gender bias', by issuing a sort of cliff notes instead of that open-ended 9-word grab-some-popcorn-and-debate original post. It was practically salivating for controversy as many of these regularly occurring 'cUrReNt StAtE oF tHe LeGo GrOuP!" threads are designed. For example no where in the entire thing do the words "Friends", "Minidoll", "pink" or "purple" appear and at no point did they mention making Lego homogeneous or doing away with or consolidating themes. What TLG said they will strive to do: foster and support play for girls encourage parents to let girls play with what is traditionally viewed as a 'boy toy' (building toys) highlight that boys are also dealing with gender stereotypes support girls liking 'boy' toys and boys liking 'girl' toys Pretty simple.

The Ghostbusters theme is posted in the Lego Licensed forum now; this topic was created before it was a theme (there was only the one Ideas set at the time).

Super accurate, it looks so real. I can hear it squawking at me; it wants peanuts. Fantastic build!

Botanical Collection - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to Vilhelm22's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah I had all of these on hand over years of collecting and just threw them all together. I still think theres only about 25 of the stalk pieces. But where are you looking for these parts, bricklink? The clickit bracelet flowers 28573 or 33291 are currently $0.06 per on Lego's own bricks and pieces, 6-stem stalk $0.23 ea and the plant leaves 4x3 2423 is $0.15.- 137 replies

If its any consolation I think few builders get to enjoy all the sets they would like. Can still build it vicariously by browsing the free instructions once released or completing it digitally. We always need builders to build the sets digitally and upload the files to share for LDD and Ldraw (links to EB's official set file threads built digitally in their respective programs).

[MOC] The LEGO Houses of Amsterdam (with free building instructions)
koalayummies replied to paupadros's topic in LEGO Town
This is feaking awesome and amazing of you to share the instructions. Your designs are incredibly classy and true to the inspiration. At this scale one can build a large city with very few and relatively common pieces. Absolutely wonderful! What would typically be behind the buildings in the empty spots?- 22 replies

Botanical Collection - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to Vilhelm22's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah I think the 10 original leaves is correct. As far as the stalks and green 1x1 flower bracelet pieces, it was a lot. I used just about every single one that I had . Guessing it was around 25 or so of the 6-stem stalk 19119 which would mean around 125 of the clickits Plate, Round 1 x 1 with Flower Edge (4 Knobs / Petals). I've since disassembled it but I might have a few more photos. Edit, here's the only other photo I took of it before taking it apart. On second look its way more than the 10 leaf pieces, looks more like 20-30, four for each of the brown scooter handlebar pieces. And I'd guess the green flower bracelet pieces was actually closer to 160 and they alternate between the dark green and lighter green.- 137 replies

Hey don't bring facts into this! Both of those failed themes are just months away from their 10-year anniversaries. Total failures!

Part 47458 has zero clutch power
koalayummies replied to MelonHeadSeb's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well conspiracy theories aside it could just be the way that this part is specifically designed to interact with another corresponding part; in certain situations would make it unnecessarily difficult to remove if it had more clutch. -

How does Lego figure out sets prices?
koalayummies replied to metalgeekzy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yea @MaximillianRebo has it right. The significant number of larger and more complicated mold shape pieces in the helicopter set that are more expensive to produce. The other two sets shown use smaller and less complicated mold pieces by comparison. -
[Poll] Do you like LEGO as a company?
koalayummies replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well unlike the other member I think TLG should get more political. For example any set depicting healthcare, like a City theme hospital set, should show happy doctor Minifigures treating happy patient Minifigures... for the European market. ...But that very same numbered set sold in the United States should consist of a giant flaming underground bank vault exploding with 1x2 printed money tiles surrounded a pile of probably unhappy skeleton figures. That way each set is market-specific! Now I'll place my vote saying yes, I like Lego as a company. But you could do better TLG! Just, think about my idea. -
Its glorious! That's actually one of my favorite things to see; when people build sets they don't have or can't afford with the random assortment of bricks they have available. Like rainbow Millennium Falcons or your Mondrian-esq ship.
