Is there anyone making their own Lego apartment?
koalayummies replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Check out EB member @wooootles's MOCs: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/profile/7798-wooootles/&do=content&type=forums_topic&change_section=1 as they've built a number of 10+ story or large Minifigure-scale/Modular buildings: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/171386-moc-the-vybe-hotel/ https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/156303-moc-505-wasabi-skyscraper/ https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/160440-moc-corporate-plaza/ https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/169016-moc-the-magnolias-on-10th-apartments/ -
The shift from creativity to consumer fan base?

Which animal you'd like to see re-moulded?
koalayummies replied to zinnn's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Any of the ones I and many others missed out on. Goat, ostrich, whatever. And I agree the classic parrot mould is looking a bit outdated now. Transparent blue octopus goes for minimum $50 -
STHLM always making fantastic MOCs. I've been pondering the use of those 1x4 sliding/groove bricks for some time and finally someone does a modular with them, it came out excellent. And you are a wiz with the small minfigure scale details like those birds, amazing creativity as always!

Would you rather build in person or online?
koalayummies replied to Grand Admiral Green's topic in General LEGO Discussion
They're all standalone programs so you can just pick one and use it or try them all (each has various features/interfaces). LDD is Lego's official program, Studio is by Bricklink and LDraw is more open-source volunteer maintained software. -
The shift from creativity to consumer fan base?
koalayummies replied to mikaelsol's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yep. Set discussions get tens to hundreds of thousands of replies, hundreds of pages deep, about what new instructions consumers will get to follow like robots obeying programming, while fellow builder's MOCs get maybe a couple of replies at best with many completely ignored by the overwhelming majority. Along with the ever increasing irrational capitalistic activity of purchasing these products for speculation rather than consumption. It is a shame how the practically limitless creative potential of this thing is so often disregarded in favor of what the company shows they have built. Yes; support your fellow builders here on EB and they'll support you back. There's decent chunk of EB members that embody the creator spirit. And then also get on flickr and start following exclusively MOCers, they're very easy to spot with a cursory glance through their stream. There's a sizable number of builders that only post MOCs and nothing else and you'll recognize a lot of those names as members on here as well. It's all MOC all day long with them; the pinnacle of Leg Godt. And don't follow anyone posting pictures of piles of unopened boxes from their bi-weekly trip to the Lego store. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 22. Rumors and discussion
koalayummies replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Lol I guess, I've been to like five stores and the shelves are mostly empty except for teenage mutant ninja turtle shampoo. And that's just pepperoni pizza grease. -

You lucky! I went to a big-box store to see if they finally got some more shampoo cause now apparently there's a shampoo shortage and people are hoarding shampoo. All gone, no shampoo ; so I walked by the Lego aisle to see if these were out but it looked like they're going out of business. -
Help with identifying parts/sets!
koalayummies replied to WhiteFang's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Found them on shop Legoland California site, whatever that is. https://shop-california.legoland.com/products/lego%C2%AE-xtra-brick-stickers $3.98 -
This is screwing regular builders out of exclusive/limited availability items that they qualified for as part of their purchase now as well. A number of Eurobricks members here were posting about how they missed out because of behavior just like this. The release-day gobble, scalping set and GWP twofer. Flooding the Shop@Home site at set-release to the point of inaccessibility and or having the free time to go around and hit Lego Stores multiple times in the same day and multiple different stores in their area knowing others cannot do the same. Doing this (and also clearly using e-commerce bots based on social media posts) to get around the maximum purchase restrictions per-set and also to get dozens of the same gift-with-purchase which then turn up on Bricklink in the weeks that follow charging $30+ for something they got for free in order to scalp all those that missed out because they didn't have the time to go to the store (or multiple stores like some of the scalpers), they couldn't access the website due to bot traffic or their order placed just a few hours after the frenzy finally died down resulted in their items being backordered so they don't ship out until after the GWP supplies have ran out despite qualifying. A few examples: And of course there was that notorious release day scalper horror story.

Fantastic. I especially like the use of those window pieces as well as the timber-framed structures. The minifigure builds especially give it that late 19th century feel. Wonderful MOC!

Most excellent 6-wide city truck, very detailed with a great color scheme. Also excellent photography.

Don't worry, nobody likes those people. Aww I thought EB was the best Lego site.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
They do both. They proudly boast about how many they were able to snatch up in-store along with how many more they're getting in online orders. That same teal car set. One of them posted a link on here to a photo showing and discussing how many of that teal car set they were able to snatch up at the same time that a bunch of other members in another thread were discussing their disappointment in not being able to get one because of rapacity. I made a comment about the avarice but got reprimanded. Sorry you missed out on that set, a whole lot of people did. Edit: I posted this in the dedicated thread for that car but here it is again, a bunch of these parts were listed as incoming to be available direct from Lego on Bricks and Pieces but I haven't been on there in like a year to check if they were ever made available, these are the parts that were exclusive to that set and really key to completing it in teal: 35789 MUDGUARD 2X4X2, NO. 1 11458 PLATE 1X2 W. Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
GWP have been ruined anyway when gluttonous scum run around hitting five different stores on release day to get seventeen of them so they can scalp on Bricklink like that vintage car with the police station modular. Good riddance to the GWP. -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

He's being paid off with cookies. What a bargain. -
That Manglegrat got first post of the page with that thing is just perfection. Everyone must bear witness to its glory.

No the point is some of these adult fans of lego should maybe, as was suggested by others on the previous page, not let such minor things regarding this toy consume them so much. Even photographic color checker targets need to be replaced regularly so there would just be even more complaining that the bricks aren't archival-grade plastic. They will always find a fault. Leg godt. Leg godt.
