  1. In the appropriate themed forum of the subject matter of the build. Assuming for a moment that its an arcade building, then it'd probably go in the Town forum. Image hosting: Flickr, Bricksafe.
  2. ::heavy panting and running noises:: I got here as soon as I could are we still talking about making scalpers walk the plank!?
  3. Looking more closely at the Time Cruisers image from the first page... Left side: castle Upper left: space Lower middle: pirates Upper middle: city With elements, styles and parts from each theme in this single build. The mashup for all was right there! TLG: LOL.
  4. Gorgeous! The balance of color is perfection. The cellar is especially cool given how uncommon they are in builds. So many nicely constructed details. The use of the stairs for the sloped roof support is awesome. I think we should hang out in the cellar, interesting stuff down there. The rest is undoubtedly beautiful and a joy to look at but the cellar, that seems like where its at. Fantastic MOC!
  5. So your neighbor pulled the old 'here, you deal with it!'.
  6. Minifigure hands? 3820 Earth Blue: 4653963 New Dark Red: 6004906 Yellow: 382024 Dark Stone Grey: 382026 Medium Stone Grey: 6006285 Sand Blue?: 4211038
  7. That's kind of a long and defensive reply to a post directed at no one in particular that was simply clarifying of a couple terms that were used repeatedly. Yes. What most of what the world, including a great many in the US, knows about the American frontier are actually Hollywood inventions. The appeal is understandable; multimedia entertainment has done a great job of glamorizing that era, but it's just not that simple to say that its a stock character while disregarding everything else anymore. The fact that the word 'genocide' has been mentioned a few times here in the past few pages indicates a safe guess that these issues would factor into any discussion at TLG about this theme today. That's what Nick on Planet Ripples video was explaining, the sanitized versions are whitewashed. Anyone can attempt to avoid the issue but others may not and as a company TLG has to consider that. From the linked 2018 video discussing the 1997/2002 sets: "That's the thing about culture; things don't suddenly become weird overnight, some things have always been weird. And if you're used to ignoring the voices that have said as much since day one and we're just now listening to them that doesn't mean it just now started being a problem." One of the greatest video games of all time, but RDR2 was also criticized for the Native American portrayals in the game as being cliche and insensitive. I wouldn't get any hopes up of an American frontier Lego theme just because of the popularity of a four year old (M-rated) video game. In fact Native American persecution features fairly prominently in the story which is the opposite from the as you characterized: sanitized Lego sets from the late 90's and early 00's. If anything RDR2 did a decent job of reminding and educating regarding the treatment of Native Americans by the United States and as awareness continues to rise the complexity of doing a theme like this probably does as well. Again, I was merely clarifying terms; I'm not the one that needs be convinced about this. This is TLG's call. For this poll they made that decision, probably backed up a great number of reasons.
  8. "Cowboy"- rancher: animal herder, cattle wrangler; raises livestock Bandit/outlaw - criminal, gang member, gunfighter, bandana-faced robber "Western" - a fictional, romanticized (bs) film genre The American frontier - aka the Old West, Wild West, European colonial settlement expansion and United States territorial acquisitions from ~1600-1912 "Indian" -
  9. Well the responses were lacking in lolz but so be it.
  10. Nah they don't really care what other people do with Lego, its what they will or won't do with their own pieces. Cool MOC, again, but shouldn't they paint in a booth or at least cover the other cars; that place is going to be an over-spray mess and clay bar nightmare. Spray on the ground below the car would add realism if its about that.
  11. @JintaiZ that is one of the greatest Lego creations I've ever seen.
  12. Thanks for the link. That comment section (on the Ideas page) is something else. Should be interesting to watch.
  13. Yes to all of this, especially the ancient part. They got cobwebs, creaks, are crumbling and very crusty. Excellent review and photos.
  14. Do you mean it was posted and got 10k all in the same day?
  15. Hunting. Defense was really secondary. Yes.
  16. @Dazzzy that is a beautiful bridge! OP: here's another possible stud-less solution using 49307 in the gap, smooth for cars driving over it but it has a bit of a jagged look from the side:
  17. What you have done here is make one of those builds that will be remembered forever and serve as an inspiration to a great many builders. The entire design and construction just flows throughout, its truly remarkable and stunningly beautiful. I could go on and on but I really want to just keep looking at all the fantastic elements that make up this incredible scene. Absolutely brilliant creation you have made!
  18. LOL! Now I want a cinnabons! For the sake of the discussion I looked up the price and although I love cinnamon I cannot take that deal I had no idea they were so pricey (mine are from disassembled Ninjago City). Edit: Doh! Considering the price of Cinnabons that's a fair offer!
  19. Most excellent teamwork Mike, Carl and Yoel!
  20. Too detailed? What next, you going to say Mozart used too many notes? ROFL.
  21. Admittedly had to search. For the curious: the rainbow assortment of Knights Kingdom protagonists.
  22. Yeah that looks good! I agree with Stuartn, some exposed studs aren't a deal-breaker but if they are you could use the inverse piece and reinforce from the bottom but it might restrict the angles you can achieve. Still what you've got here is great.
  23. So the guy felt bad that they couldn't ride side-by-side after the surfboard mod so he just got her one in Earth Green. It still only gets about eleven miles to the gallon, pollutes as much as a hundred OBD-II compliant vehicles and is about as safe as open-mouth-kissing a wild horseshoe bat, but its vintage! And sure enough here comes Jay Leno in his Canadian tuxedo and money cart to try and buy them because owning 286 cars just isn't enough.
  24. Anyone have an issue with "show new reply" (when you're logged in and viewing a thread/typing)? The popup appears but clicking show reply doesn't appear to be working for me. Not a big deal, just glad to have EB back.
