Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, if we see a one-handed man holding a pitchfork screaming obscenities in front of TLG HQ on live television next year, we now know who it is -

Also in October, and it’s not a GWP. Those don’t have regular set numbers -

Something tells me the same company that thinks Deathly Hallows is too much for the kiddos wouldn’t market a set based on that film as age-appropriate for a pre-schooler -

I’m with @Clone OPatra, claiming that the 2010/11 iteration was the definitive one makes little sense to me. How the iteration that used the same Harry across all movies, featured one of the most laughable creature builds ever, completely ignored GoF and OotP, introduced virtually no new moulds (Bellatrix’ hairpiece being one of the few exceptions), didn’t include Umbridge, Moody, Slughorn, Quirrell, Lockhart, Myrtle, Viktor, Fleur, Cedric, Buckbeak, Tonks, Kingsley, Grawp, Fudge, the Basilisk, or centaurs could ever be considered the best one is a mystery to me All it had the current one’s missing is Norbert, Mrs Norris, the gray owl, DH Neville, Narcissa, Gringotts, and DH part 2 stuff (DH part 1 was ignored by that iteration as well). -

Rougly 7€ Definitely cheaper than buying multiple polybags -

Or maybe it instead includes 2019!Joker, the current comic-inspired Batman and an updated Robin or 2020!Batgirl. Jk, of course. …or am I? As you say, keeping the Joker exclusive to the D2C version is in the realm of possibility, but the nurse or interregation scene variants would also make sense in a set like that. I would love to see Two-Face and/or Scarecrow, but I’m not getting my hopes up just yet -

Why not? We already have the Infinity Gauntlet Not gonna lie, I'd buy a set with Baby Groot in the same style as the D2C Hedwig in a heartbeat -

Well, I bit the bullet and bought the 6 tiles I was missing on bricklink Even if I got very lucky with the polybag and the AC, that obviously still wouldn't have been enough thanks to the D2C not including any, contrary to what I was expecting. Still wondering why as it would have been the perfect opportunity, especially considering the giant card that's part of the set. At least the prices on the secondary market are pretty reasonable now -

How likely do you think the inclusion of a third minifig in the D2C Tumbler is? The way I see it, Fulcrum's hinting at leaked minifigs rather than a leaked box, so there's still a chance for that. I do realise that the 2014 one also only had two minifigs, but the last two Batsy D2C sets both included three, so it's not entirely unreasonable Either way, looking forward to the two confirmed minifigs and especially what the updated Joker looks like -

Pretty much what I expected The real wildcard here is the $40 Tumbler. Personally, I hope for Batsy, Vest Joker and Two-Face, but they may throw us a complete curveball and pull a 2008 Tumbler on us The release date surprises me a bit though. Just look at what gets released in October: the 66 Batsy cowl, both Tumblers, 8 Marvel sets (4 Eterals, 3 Spidey, 1 Inf Saga), Peach’s Castle, Pick-up Truck, two large Technic sets, the Winter Village set, and the Ideas Stratocaster When was the last time October was this stacked with new releases, if ever before? -

Maybe that box is too flat to safely use vertically? The vertical boxes tend to be a bit deeper than that, so it might topple over on shelves -

Not sure if this the same interview with Marcos Bessa as before, but there are some additional tidbits about the lack of DH sets: https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-harry-potter-and-the-deathly-hallows/ So a DH wave was never on the table in the first place and this year was always considered to be a blank slate. The most important take-away other than that is that they may ‘sneak in’ some DH stuff, which is better than nothing As I’ve said before, what I’d like to see the most out of DH is new variants/characters rather than locations, so them sneaking in DH content via a CMF series or something can still be satisfying Either way, this spells doom for a certain someone in this thread, right @THELEGOBATMAN? -
Thanks for opening this thread! My favourites of yours are Yelena, Shuri, Ulysses Klaue, Mysterio, Grandmaster, and Proxima Midnight. The only one that doesn’t work for me is White Grim. I simply cannot see that head and hair combo as anything other than Sirius, try as I may Oh, and HOT TAKE INCOMING: I don’t like minifig hands being used as a building technique. At all. All I can see is severed hands being attached to whatever, like Corvus Glaive’s glaive here And it’s an illegal technique too, so nothing my purist heart can handle

General Star Wars Discussion and Questions
BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Maybe. The “power void” created by TRU’s death was filled by other retailers like Kohl’s who got exclusivity deals for sets TRU probably would have if they hadn’t been assassinated. However, I can imagine them going back to the way they collaborated before, they had a very good working relation after all The question is, how much confidence toy manufacturers have in the resurrected TRU. Some got burned last time and probably won’t trust them on the same level as before, even though it wasn’t really TRU’s fault (damn equity vulture scum!) -

That's weird B&P doesn't list BAM pieces, does it? So where's that piece coming from, one of the Home Alone characters perhaps? Either way, good to know it finally exists in that colour -
LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Depends on what you’re looking for It’s a very impressive-looking model and the building process is rewarding in my opinion; completing the inner frame for example is a cool experience because it’s only then you realise how gargantuan this thing truly is. I haven’t had that feeling with many sets so far. I also agree with @Archer though, it’s a bit of a repetitive build, but at least the sides are mirrored and not identical. That said, I imagine the new AT-AT to be a lot more repetitive in its buildings process for the legs alone In essence, if you look for a lot of variety, other sets might be more up your alley (the Gunship for instance has a lot to offer). If you want an impressive display piece that draws a lot of attention to it wherever it’s placed, I can definitely recommend the SD -

Meh. I enjoyed the first two movies and am excited for the third instalment, but wouldn’t really be in favour of a D2C set based on them. I’d definitely be on board for a $80-$100 set, but anything beyond that price point should be reserved for HP …unless we finally end up getting Gringotts and DH stuff, after that they can do whatever their hearts desire -
Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
We don’t really know how many of them will actually show up in the film. I know there were like 5 or 6 in the initial concept art, but that’s not necessarily indicative of how many of them are featured significantly enough to be set material For all we know, Arishem could be the only one with any screentime to speak of Fair point. No projects beyond 2023 have release dates yet, so a solo film in early 2024 could be realistic. Or maybe he shows up in another project first, like one of the D+ series? -

Good point, we still don’t know if he’ll suit up in this film or not The question is, when he will eventually… Avengers 5? When are we expecting the official official set reveal btw? Now that the second trailer has shown the Deviants (including Kro) and two Celestials (including Arishem), they don’t have any excuses to hold the HD pics back any longer -

Well, “moderate hype” in MCU terms is still above the levels of hype for most other projects I for one am really looking forward to it and appreciate that they decided to dedicate four sets to this film. Still quite surprising, but with 10 heroes being introduced, it makes sense to release more than two sets based on it (even though Dane Whitman being omitted is regrettable) -

It’s funny how they immediately addressed the questions most people had after the first trailer (who the Eternals are and why they didn’t interfere before) Looks impressive! Can’t wait for the sets to finally be added to s@h so we can get a better look at them (particularly close-ups of the interesting-looking interior of their ship) -
