  1. That would have been fun, but Thanos getting a sack of coal did get a good chuckle out of me
  2. You seem to assume that only people who know the show would buy this set, which is not necessarily true. If it‘s a good-looking apartment with interesting pieces and minifigs, plenty of AFOLs will buy it whether they‘re familiar with the source material or not. Heck, this set marks the very first time TLG has acquired a license I‘ve never even heard of before and I still want to buy it
  3. Vidiyo is a kid-oriented theme with a huge marketing campaign and dozens of new moulds and a myriad of exclusive prints, all of which is very expensive. The Queer Eye set is targeted towards adults, doesn‘t include new moulds as far as we know, and is probably a timed exclusive so it‘s produced at a much lower capacity, like all D2C sets are. How on earth can it even come close to be as much of a flop as Vidiyo? Even with only a single copy sold (or none) this wouldn‘t be a flop compared to Vidiyo
  4. Whoops, forgot about the GWP set Despite some errors here and there, leaked minifigs are mostly assembled correctly, so I assume that‘s the final minifig Too bad about that detail, but the rest of the minifig looks good enough to make up for that transgression
  5. The leaked minifig looks great, they captured Tan France’s likeness very well It‘s been quite a while since we last got minifigs based on real people (the last time being the DFB CMF series IIRC)
  6. Indeed. I wonder why it’s included here rather than in that set. Might be for budgetary reasons
  7. Official pictures of the Mando Forge can be found at the usual place The Mando hologram is a nice surprise!
  8. Good point. The UCS Gunship only leaked because someone breached the embargo. We did have some proper leaks recently, but only sporadically (some of the Marvel CMF figs, Newman’s head, and the Ideas GWP set). The Mario D2C set has also managed to stay secret for now, but that one’s rumoured not to include any minifigs anyway. There’s a chance the only leak will be a grainy image of the box a couple of days before the reveal I don’t mind that too much, just sad we would then be robbed of a potentially interesting speculative discussion
  9. So early September is still believed to be the release window? If so, the minifigs may start to leak soon since by this point last year, two DA minifigs had already leaked IIRC. Of course D2C sets are less reliable when it comes to minifig leaks (the Hogwarts founders for instance didn’t leak at all I think), but still hoping for something new to discuss soon
  10. Not sure if that will be the case since then we’d see the same thing happen in the Cruiser set, and so far I haven’t heard anything about extra Darktrooper armour pieces Maybe it was a production error that only concerns the first production batch of the shuttle, a bad batch if you will *ba-dum-dish*
  11. The only review I’ve seen (brickset’s) didn’t mention it, so I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be a standard extra part (VERY weird, if so). Odd extra parts seems to be a bit of a trend lately, the last Minecraft wave for instance included an extra trident in both sets it came in Agreed, definitely a cool part for MOCers I had the exact same reaction Checking the manual is always the first thing I do when encountering noteworthy extra parts (which more often than I want to admit turn out to be parts I somehow missed during building, whoops)
  12. @Brick Clicker: Sounds pretty promising Any idea when we should expect a reveal?
  13. That doesn’t fit the limited information we have though (especially the “you’d be surprised what they consider iconic” part) And not all of the Horcruxes are directly related to Hogwarts, so the name wouldn’t make much sense either. My guess would be a mix of personal belongings (Remembrall, snitch, Scrabbers cup ) and generic school supplies (quill, book, cauldron, wand, potion)
  14. The piece count indeed hasn‘t leaked yet, making speculation extra hard Around 3000 is a fair assumption though, not expecting new moulds or large parts here
  15. Just in the process of building the Bad Batch shuttle, and came across one of the weirder extra pieces I've got so far: Wrecker's armour
  16. Agreed. I think each item comes with a minifig, so 5 or 6 would be my guess as well Anything below 5 doesn't really justify the term "collection" in my eyes
  17. There, FTFY Looking forward to some scrambled eggs Seriously though, that‘s incredibly unlikely. So far, only a select few Marvel movies have received follow-up sets to cover spoilery scenes. I don‘t think it makes much sense for Shang-Chi to get that treatment, especially since the tournament most likely won‘t factor into the plot all that much
  18. There‘s no point in denying it, you‘re only going to end up even more disappointed. I would just accept it and instead look forward to whatever they’ll cook up next year No Gringotts and little chance for anything DH, that much has been made clear, but at least there‘s plenty of other cool stuff they could still cover
  19. We don‘t really know My guess would be September, but a mid-August release cannot be ruled out either (some people think it‘s the latter based on the start of the Fuzzy polyag GWP promotion). That would be fantastic You‘re right, the castle isn‘t featured in that many of the main line games and whenever it is, it’s usually just in the background (NSMBU, Mario Maker 2, Galaxy etc). Exceptions include Mario 64 (duh) and a lot of the RPGs, the latter of which haven‘t been referenced in any sets so far. Elements from Mario 64 however are already present in the theme (Mario‘s scream, the Rainbow Ride music, some of the enemies), so it‘s incredibly likely the set is based on the 64 version Fingers crossed for some news soon!
  20. I‘m also tired of these characters, but that‘s how it is I hope they ditch the random Spidey sets next year in favour of more NWH sets though
  21. Sorry for the double post, but maybe there would be more comic-based sets if the comics were more in-sync with what the films and shows are currently doing. Just a recent example: Marvel Studios: „You like Doctor Strange, right? Look, he‘s featured in NWH and gets a highly-anticipated sequel soon!“ Marvel Comics: „Let‘s kill Doctor Strange right now and inevitably revive him in like two years tops“. Is it any wonder moviegoers don‘t care about the comics and thus any tie-in merchandise based on them?
  22. Why on Earth would they? Spidey has always been more popular, and with NWH coming out soon plus the Spiderverse sequel on the horizon, there‘s no way they‘d favour X-Men, who currently aren‘t even remotely relevant in the public perception That‘s like foregoing Batman for Green Lantern I highly doubt we‘ll see any X-Men stuff before their eventual MCU debut.
  23. The street date for retailers is usually the same as on s@h, so unless someone asks for some serious trouble, I doubt it
  24. That wouldn‘t make any sense. An exclusive torso print here and there is fair game for a con-exclusive set, but this? Those two figs have 7 unique new prints between them (2x legs, 2x torsos, 2x helmets, 1x armour) and three recoloured parts (2x helmets, 1x armour). There‘s no way they‘d be buried in an exclusive set like that
  25. Wouldn‘t bet on that, the first one didn‘t do so well apparently And even if it did, yearly follow-up series aren‘t a thing any more by the looks of it If I had the choice between a multibillion dollar franchise and an industry on the verge of death, I know what I would go for
