There’s a hilariously fake set list on IG These clowns just never give up, will they? -

Couldn't agree more. The more varied the line-up, the better Let's hope then that the 1HY 2022 offerings are as far removed from the 1HY 2021 sets as possible in terms of set choices. Remakes are inevitable, but they could at least give us some interesting minifigs to make up for that, which the 1HY 2021 sets utterly failed to do. Oh, and the glorious return of the BPs of course. And please, for the sake of everything that is holy, no Snowspeeder or Landspeeder Not sure if they're able to resist the urge though -

Me too. Since we shouldn't expect DH sets or a Gringotts D2C, I think the 2022 line-up will include the following: a wave of Hogwarts Moments sets with new classrooms a remake of a set released in the previous iterations (Shrieking Shack, 2nd task, and the PS troll scene being the most obvious choices) a remake of an already remade set (e.g. Hagrid's Hut, but based on the PS version, which I'd be okay with under the condition that Fang is included) an entirely new set based on either PoA, GoF, OotP, or HBP a castle section in the new style one or two FB3 sets another AC multiple buildable creatures and objects (Niffler anyone?) CMF S3 with some DH representation Any objections? -

Yeah, we got carried away a bit Let’s hope for the promised set lists to show up soon to get us back on topic! …even though I have an inkling the discussion will revert right back to where we were depending on the contents of said list -

It’s not about the numbers, but the differences between people that register their collections on brickset and people that don’t. A sample needs to be somewhat representative of the population, otherwise you can’t generalise your findings. It’s a common issue when researching motivation for instance, people who participate in a survey may differ in important aspects from people that don’t, creating a sampling bias that threaten the validity of your results. Similarly, AFOLs aren’t representative of the consumers as a whole in their spending habits, which is why it’s tricky to draw any conclusions based on that data alone. It’s part of the big picture, sure, but only a small portion of it Objection, this is mere conjecture You can be passionate about something and still make mistakes -

No offense, but that line of thinking always cracks me up. “I’m a fan, and thus I understand [movie/book/game/character/product] better than the people that created it” is not as compelling of an argument as you may think You keep bringing up brickset, but it’s not a valid indicator for overall success. First off, not every AFOL/TFOL is registered on that website and secondly (and more importantly), the AFOL/TFOL community is only a small fraction of the consumer base. You can’t generalise the results on brickset, all it tells you is the success of the set within a portion of the AFOL/TFOL community -

On the Internet at large perhaps, but I don’t recall anyone in this thread making such statements For the record, I’m not an OT, PT, or ST fan. I’m a Star Wars fan. I don’t care about eras, fandom wars, and the toxic ‘us vs them’ mentality. If it’s SW, I’ll watch it That said, there’s definitely stuff still missing across the entire franchise that I find inexcusable myself. Yet, you don’t see me calling people idiots for not releasing it or pretending to be a victim. -

This entire discussion reeks of entitlement. “They’re idiots for not releasing what I feel entitled to”. Incredibly mature, I have to say. You PT hardcores do realise that incessant whining and constantly painting yourselves as victims doesn’t help your cause in any way, shape, or form, right? You want more PT sets? Then vote with your wallets, go out and buy the ones currently available The new set list definitely can’t arrive soon enough -

A Ninjago set list has already been confirmed and a City one can is making the rounds as well, and since SW lists usually tends to be among the first to leak, it shouldn't be far behind -

Same here in Switzerland, but I don't think Sky is available everywhere (please correct me if I'm wrong). So if your country has access to neither Sky nor HBOmax, you're out of luck I think they have expansion plans, but that may take a while -

To be frank, these custom parts look nothing like LEGO. While a new broom mould would be great, it shouldn’t look like that -

Short answer: No, they don’t. Ever. Which is why it’s very hard to estimate the actual success of sets, unless we get confirmation from someone in the know. Reaching EOL status soon is often used, but it’s a flawed metric since success is not the only factor here. Also, it’s hard to compare the lifespans of sets, even within themes Another thing to consider is that D2C sets are more numerous than they used to be. We’re at three a year now, whereas there was only one a year not too long ago. Having more sets compete with each other also affects the lifespan of sets, so a lifespan of 1.5 years in 2010 and 1.5 years in 2020 doesn’t necessarily have the same implications, sales-wise. In essence, we’ll only be able to properly judge the success of the Gunship once another PT UCS set hits the market -

Holy ****, you’re right! That awkward moment when you realise you suddenly have a $500 minifig idly standing on your shelf. And I thought I overpaid massively when I impulse-purchased mine for like $200 two years ago Well, if that polybag is real some people will be furious, but I don’t really care. I collect sets because I like them, not because they’re worth anything -

Excellent question, haven’t really thought about that yet! So far, they’ve collaborated with Netflix and Disney+, so I don’t see why they wouldn’t be willing to give HBO Max a shot, especially given its relation to WB One clear issue though is its availability. Currently, it’s barely accessible outside NA, so making sets based on material exclusive to a streaming service unavailable to a lot of customers wouldn’t be a good idea. I guess once it’s more widespread and has exclusive movies/shows that would make good set material, they might test the waters. They were also pretty careful when it comes to Disney+ after all and didn’t dive in head-first -

Maybe it’s similar to the NES in that regard? Completely different scale, but still compatible in a way I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a tile for Mario/Luigi to scan that plays the 64 castle theme or some other type of interaction That brick-built Peach looks excellent btw, but I’d rather she appear in a cheaper set… Or maybe as the third playable character next year? Not sure how that would work, the results could be downright terrifying. We need a talented customiser to create a mock-up for us -

I think it‘s a good opportunity to thank all of the leakers and informants (particularly @Falconfan1414, @lego_guyon02, & @Brick Clicker) for the intel you guys provided throughout the year Thanks to you, we got prepared reasonably early for what the sets, including the D2C, actually are instead of getting hyped up for something that’s not happening anytime soon. I don’t want to imagine what would’ve happened today if we were still expecting a DA expansion -

The Red Room was being financed by Mercedes-Benz?! I knew it! Not a very subtle twist though if they advertise it right on that shield Seriously though, it‘s a pretty neat replacement if you‘re able to look past the logo. I just couldn’t unsee a logo this recognisable -

I find it funny how close a lot of us actually got in our guessing game. The only items nobody's seen coming were the scarves and the Hogwarts letter, the others have popped up in many speculative lists. Oh, and Hedwig of course, with the exception of @Brick Clicker. ...though I'm not sure he counts, given his access to intel -

The only thing that doesn‘t quite add up is the leaked golden Draco hairpiece, but maybe that really was just a prototype After all, the source is primarily known for collecting rare prototype/miscoloured parts and this could have been a coincidence. Unless there‘s an upcoming unknown GWP set with Dragold included as the final golden minifig, this should be it for 2021 -

You must‘ve misread something. The dinosaur comes in a new Creator set and the Fiat is a blue recolour of last year‘s yellow version I think the Creator set is a recolour as well. If jumping to conclusions was an Olympic discipline, it would rain medals in here The set has been available for roughly 24 hours and people are already judging the success by looking only at the current availability. There‘s so many factors at play here that we have no idea about
