As my birthday gift, I humbly request TIE Avenger and Ahsoka S2 wave rumours today. DO NOT DISAPPOINT ME AGAIN.

I’d say that’s a stylistic choice. With CMFs, the directive seems to be to stay as close to the traditional minifig as possible. There are some exceptions of course, like the mid-legs that were famously introduced with HP S1, mermaid tails, snake lower body, centaur legs, and so on. The longer arms and legs however have never been used in a CMF series, even in cases where they clearly would’ve helped. So it must be a conscious design choice not to use them

As with every new licensed series since the Great CMF Calamity, I can’t help but wonder who the other 4 minifigs would’ve been, and this is no exception Still my least favourite decision TLG have ever made, rivalled only by the cancellation of the Temple of Doom (and Indy in general). Exactly, especially considering the piece has already been designed for the other two sets that got delayed!

Maybe they‘ll reconsider after the great reception of S1? …The delusion is strong with me, I know.

Not sure how likely that is. If there are more sets next year, that would mean they planned to have a follow-up wave after the movie‘s initial release, which is really rare these days. Animated movies especially usually get one wave to tie in with a new release, and that‘s it I’d say the main reasons they didn‘t delay the one set this year and the CMF series is the 25th anniversary of the first movie and potential logistical issues. A delay of the CMF series would‘ve required a replacement series, after all

No matter what they do, I just pray they got rid of the rounded plates that plagued both the course-building system and the AC sets. Not for aesthetical reasons, they look fine, it‘s their lack of clutch power that grinds my gears to sawdust. With a few exceptions, the Mario sets are by faaaaaaaaar the flimsiest in my collection Most sets simply cannot be transported in one piece, which I just had the displeasure of doing again Since AC and the course-building system are both over, I rearranged some things to make space for the upcoming minifig sets PLEASE LET THEM BE MORE STABLE GAHHHHHH

There have been rumours recently of a new in-house theme centered around buildable animal characters, which now got a name: Cutelings. The first wave includes: 34101 Melodii the Music Unicorn (146 pcs) 34102 Sunnii the Flower Bunny (146 pcs) 34103 Charlii the Trendy Kitty (135 pcs) 34104 Swiftii the Adventure Puppy (137 pcs) 34105 Yummii the Picnic Panda (139 pcs) 34106 (Elephant character) Each character is said to come with accessories Sounds like the next Mixels-like theme!

The leaked sets clearly weren‘t finished, but I doubt they‘ll introduce a new piece there when the prelim used the CMF body piece Still possible of course! Scooby-Doo also got separate pieces for both stances back in the day.

Sounds like a good start! I‘m still wondering about the enemies though. The Koopas appear to be minifigs, but how are they gonna realise Shy Guys, Boos, Bob-Ombs etc? If they‘re all moulded, the theme must have an insane budget

Shrek 5 gets released on June 30th, so I imagine the sets might hit shelves in late April / early May Definitely not in January!

Also, Clint‘s rampage as Ronin isn‘t really portrayed as a good thing either. It‘s more sad than anything I also wasn‘t aware of the allegations against Renner. Combined with his accident, it makes sense he‘s been put on the backburner. And whoops, I knew I forgot someone important, namely America Chavez! She kinda sorta has to be there since MoM clearly established that she‘s needed to hop between universes. Well, either her or the TVA, and we know Loki‘s in this. Still feels like a bit of a cop-out. Now that I think about it, the plot of MoM would fall apart if Wanda was aware of the TVA. Or Infinity War for that matter, if Thanos could access their HQ How will Doom get access to the TVA, if none of the other super-powerful characters could, if that‘s the route they‘re taking? Kang made sense, but Doom? …now I wish they established clear rules and boundaries for the multiverse stuff since none of it really fits together anymore

What I‘m curious about is how you display your minifigs As a kid, I used to display them separately on a baseplate, but from like 2003/4 onward, I started to place them right next to or on top of sets, depending on the kind of set. I like to pose my minifigs somewhat, so within a set, each minifig gets a different pose (both legs straight, one leg forward or backward, or one leg forward and the other backward). Another thing I like to do is display both facial expressions if minifigs use the same dual-sided head across multiple sets. Recreating scenes is something I only do if it makes sense within the context of a set, like Palpatine‘s Arrest. Otherwise, the minifigs just stand around either next to each other or facing each other if they‘re from opposing factions

I lose if I win and win if I lose, because I do want DCU sets Soupgirl may have flopped HARD, but there is a chance TLG was impressed enough with Soup that they decided to dedicate sets to the DCU, even though they‘d have to invest quite a bit into new prints

Kinda strange we got nothing, despite S2 of the Netflix show dropping, the new movie getting released, and TLG and Nick being on good terms again

One thing that gives me hope for Ahsoka S2 sets is the fact Enoch‘s still missing. That alone doesn‘t guarantee anything, but the common assumption was that they would save him for later sets, and they still might do exactly that. The fact we got a BP just last year also proves that they have faith in this particular show And if you can‘t tell, Ahsoka is my favourite out of all the shows. As @Mandalorianknight says, it‘s the most SW-feeling show out of all of them and just good ol’ fun with cool characters, great action, awesome character moments, and nifty lore expansions. And S2 looks even better! Andor has a better story and dialogue of course, but it‘s nowhere near as fun Also: Oh no, some Smart Brick sets got delayed or cancelled! Anyway, where are my Ahsoka S2 rumours?! Also also: Prepare for a full-scale CloneCommando99-style epic crusade if it doesn‘t pan out. I will launch it once we have the full 2027 set list

I built them across the span of 12 or 13 days, a few sets each day after work I always start with the smallest sets and work my way up. Since I always get everything on day 1, the busiest months are definitely January, June, and August. Some years I actually did take a week or two off from work, but not this year

@CloneCommando99: I don‘t wanna appear petty or anything, but I‘m currently sorting my spare parts from the July & August sets I got, and I couldn’t help but remember your comment about your perceived lower number of spare parts BEHOLD!!! Of course it‘s from a bunch of themes (SW, One Piece, Marvel, AC, Pokémon, KPDH, JW, Ideas, Sonic, Mario, and Minecraft, plus one Dreamzzz set to be precise), but still. A decade ago, this would‘ve been the result of a year‘s worth of sets

I disagree, an asteroid belt made of space whale bones is metal as **** The whole idea of the other galaxy mostly serves the plot: it easily explains why Thrawn couldn‘t return before. They did a good job showing how hard it is to find him and bring him back rather than just hand-waving it. I‘m sure S2 will add more lore to Peridea and the other galaxy, but I wouldn‘t expect too many differences anyway. It‘s not like galaxies in reality are that different from one another Another example is One Piece. S2 dropped in March, and the sets just got released in August The upcoming HP HBO show has no rumoured sets either (praying it stays that way, hehe). January 2028 would be absolutely brutal though. I still hope for a handful of sets next August!

I‘m surprised by the number of characters we‘re already getting in the first wave, including the Fire variants Excited to hear more!!

It‘s hilarious to me how different the outcomes can be, but that happens with completely randomised distributions You can get more than half of the collection with Garp‘s ship alone, but just as easily 5 copies of the same tile in that one set. People have criticised the system before, but I absolutely love all four of the tile collections we‘ve had so far and hope they do more!! Feel free to disagree, but the complete randomisation is the best way to handle it in my opinion, without any difference in rarity and a complete lack of chase items. Sure, they could restrict the randomness or not have it random at all, but where‘s the fun in that I was super thrilled about looking for the last missing tile, Mr 9, in Garp‘s ship, and was ectatic to get him! Brought me right back to my Pokémon card collecting days in the early 2000s.

I‘d rather they embrace the inherent silliness, as opposed to try and take it seriously, like Fant4stic initially wanted to do with „Victor Domashev“ I‘m definitely more excited about Doomsday than before, but I still wonder how they‘re gonna adress all the gaps. Infinity War seamlessly followed from the previous movies, while Doomsday has a ton of missing characters and unresolved plotlines to deal with. The biggest ones to me are: The Council of Kang. They absolutely need to adress this somehow, hopefully on-screen. Monica being trapped in an X-Men universe (is it the same one we see in Doomsday?) The absence of Spider-Man, Nick Fury, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye (both Clint and Kate), Hulk, She-Hulk, Rhodey, Ms Marvel, Moon Knight, the Eternals, and many more. I feel like they can address the first two rather easily, but the absence of these characters will be hard to explain.
