Not sure what else they could’ve done here, to be honest! They are accurate to the source material and feature relevant characters I’m already looking forward to collecting them!

Personally, I’m a bit conflicted about the news. If the film replaces Mando S4, I’ll feel better about it, since it could then better lead into the Mandoverse movie. Going back from a theatrical movie to another season of a streaming show and back to a movie again would be a pretty weird transition. And the story needs to be big enough to justify a movie! That said, I trust Favreau with it At least we’re in for some cool sets then, even though this means TLG gets EVEN MORE excuses to spam Din and Grogu minifigs. By the time the Mandoverse is over, we will have more minifigs of those two than a lot of the OT/PT/ST main characters

It’s accurate tho! The chances of any non-Batman DC sets this year are as close to 0 as you can get, so it makes sense This turned into a Batman theme a while ago

It‘s not gonna happen, but what I‘d find amazing is if TLG revealed the anniversary figures one at a time, but in form of a guessing game with shadowy outlines (like @Ashnflash is doing for his Shrek Ideas project). Granted, it likely wouldn‘t work since they‘d all leak beforehand, but it‘s a nice thought at least

I just never liked her being Luke’s wive and that fans have put Mara on a pedestal and treated her as if she was a beloved classic OT character, despite only appearing in books and comics She just never really fit in for me, not even in Legends. And as for Starkiller, I know it’s a videogame, and I had a ton of fun with the first game back in the day (the less said about the sequel the better), but some bits were just ridiculously exaggerated, like the SD scene you mention. Fun, yes, but also stupid Also, he‘s not too interesting as a minifig. Unless it‘s the helmeted version from the alternative timeline…

You could just as well blame the Malak figure for Boss Nass not getting made, or Fives for denying us a Saw Gerrera minifig It’s not like the decision was between her and either of those three (two of which are massively overrated anyway IMO, unless you mean Galen Erso, in which case one there‘s one overrated character )

The only ones who I‘d like to hear an explanation from are Promobricks. Not that it makes a difference at this point, but I‘d like to know if they misunderstood something, if their source was misinformed, or if 77016-19 were actually planned at some point and then cancelled It‘s the first and so far only time they reported on a non-existing range of sets!

It’s a business plain and simple, and they don’t owe us an explanation for their business decisions We‘re customers, not (non-existent) shareholders! I say this as a huge Indy fan, as someone who was looking forward to the return of this theme for years, expecting a grand return à la Harry Potter with multiple waves, BrickHeadz, polybags and everything, as someone who cleared an entire display cabinet in anticipation of these sets, and as someone who was incredibly disappointed when it became clear that those 3 sets were it: We need to let it go. There is absolutely no point in going in circles about this.

That‘s what I‘ve been saying from the beginning: minifigs would only work for the main characters and some of the more humanoid enemies, everyone else would need specialised pieces It’s not like Animal Crossing where all you need are new head pieces! Sure, they could try to make them brickbuilt, but a lot of the enemies are the same size or smaller than a minifig, making it very hard to create them in a convincing manner As much as would like to see minifigs, it ain‘t happening anytime soon I‘m afraid.

@legoturtle: We will never get a straight answer from them. First off, customer service only know what they need to know, and contractual details and meeting protocols are not part of that And secondly, this sort of information is generally kept secret since it concerns arrangements with other business partners, in this case Lucasfilm/Disney. That sort of thing is not meant for the public to see. I mean, what do you expect? Them to come forward and say “yeah, we didn’t make DoD sets since we didn’t expect them to sell anyway based on the lackluster sales of the KotCS merch in 2008”? Because that’s what I suspect happened, hence their focus on two of the first three movies.

We‘ve been over this before If the final movie can‘t get any sets, what on Earth makes you think a videogame of all things stands a chance? Most of the time, not even Star Wars video games get sets, just look at the Jedi series. Plus there are no rumoured shows in development. The alleged show about Marion‘s dad has ceased to exist. Lucasfilm are reportedly only working on Star Wars content for the foreseeable future. Plain and simple, it‘s over! And of course IJ is a current theme, because the three sets are still available. Once they reach their EOL (Dec 2024 presumably), it‘s curtains for the theme

Nobody said it had to be minifig-scale Microscale is of course the only way to reasonably do it, and they can still easily include all the necessary characters

No, simply because the specialised moulds have all been retired. Sure, Dwalin’s beard piece is still around, and Ori used a pretty common hairpiece, but Balin’s, Nori’s, Dori’s, Bifur’s, Bofur’s, Bombur’s, Oin’s, Gloin’s, and the one shared by Thorin, Fili, and Kili are not around anymore and would have to be redesigned. That’s A LOT of new hairpieces for one set!!

Also, the voodoo doll nanofig leak is the final nail in the coffin, since the guy who got the parts said all the other pieces from the set were destroyed. It‘s not coming.

The figures in the survey leak were clearly just placeholders, but I would still expect only the Weasley family to be included in the final product (and maybe Harry & Hermione). Sure, wedding-themed minifigs would be a lot cooler, but it’s not all that likely given what we know At least we’re getting Bill out of it either way! The only new character this year so far And I want a third series less than ever before. With only one licensed CMF series this year, I‘m hoping for something a bit more special
