You answered your own question. If sets based on well-advertised movies start to fail, why would sets based on comics most people will never read in their lives do any better? Comic sets only do well if you plaster the most-well known A-tier characters all over them, hence all the Batman and Spiderman merch While I think it’s still too early to write the MCU off, there’s no doubt they’d go the DC route if things go south and focus on the well-received older movies. They already have the whole Infinity Saga subtheme to do exactly that!

Sure, but it was cancelled well before the movie came out. They couldn’t have released the Burtonmobile replacement set as a last minute effort, that must’ve been planned for a while And the two of them co-existing wouldn’t have made much sense either

I only eat a Deadpool minifig if there‘s an official tie-in product for the movie, and there‘s no way they mix movie and comic stuff and still keep the movie branding Venomised Groot wasn‘t an MCU set either, for instance. You can wiggle your fingers at me all you want, none of y‘all are scaring me. I will no doubt win this bet

Touché. Granted, those were gimmick sets and Flitwick was the PS version which might just as well be a different character, but I‘ll concede. Ok, then it‘s just the largest wave of licensed sets without new characters I don‘t want to keep harping on it, but it‘s not like there were no options. The Forbidden Forest set is definitely the worst offender with the ultralame Ron and Hermione minifigs that easily could‘ve been Grubbly-Plank and/or Firenze instead

Personally, I’ll be happy with whatever they include in the new Hogwarts system in the summer wave as long as they feature new characters again I appreciate the new animals, creatures and variants we’re getting in March, but the list of missing characters still has a pretty decent length and it’s sad we can’t scratch any of them off so far in 2024 I might be overlooking something, but could this be the first wave of any licensed theme that has not introduced a single new (sentient) character?

True. It‘s maybe not the most significant scene we‘re missing, but definitely one of the most iconic ones! That could make for a cool addition to the new Hogwarts style, even though I‘m a bit worried about the troll himself It‘d most likely be a brick-built monstrosity with visible joints in grey, like Fluffy

Simba, the Snow White Cottage, the Sorting Hat, Barad-dûr, the Medieval Market, and the Gotham City skyline have all been confirmed by reliable sources, most of them with set numbers and everything

On the contrary, those are my favourite Minecraft sets! I just like the way they look and how they also double as buildable figures of sorts Granted, they’re more like statues, but you get the point. I wouldn‘t be surprised at all if they sold really well, as @Mandalorianknight points out.

The venomised villains are whatever, but I really dig that new Blackbird! Looks much cooler than the 2014 version. Scary to think that one’s 10 years old already

That sandman is a lot better than I expected! The nose is kinda weird, but I don’t mind it too much And Lizard looks good too

I’m not excited by something I already have in my collection She is, but it’s a new character with unique face and torso prints plus a brand new hairpiece. Always a good thing in my book! Seriously? I mean she fits a lot of the criteria, but not all of them, as has been pointed out. I do like her inclusion since we likely aren’t ever getting more Obi-Wan sets, but still not the most exciting option. Definitely would’ve preferred a Purgetrooper to represent the show tho, or the Fourth Sister. The object she’s connected to must be Lola then?

You‘re right I completely forgot there were only two minifigs of Gambledore! That definitely needs to be rectified

Hate to be a party pooper, but I’d be shocked if we ever saw any of these designs in a set. It’s like when people thought designs from the TT games would show up in sets back in the day, except this is even less likely

Am I the only one who isn‘t really vibing with the battlepack? It‘s nice to have some new P2 shinies after so many years, but they‘re hardly exciting, the new Super BDs are so similar to the old ones I didn‘t even notice any differences at first, and the builds are whatever It‘s not a bad set at all, but I‘ve kinda had it with Clone BPs. The Crimson Firehawk on the other hand is surprisingly good for a 4+ set! Cool new minifigs and even the ship looks pretty decent. I think this might be my favourite 4+ set thus far! Then again, it hardly has any competition If the best set of the wave is a 4+ one, you know you‘re in trouble

Glad people like it, but I feel completely indifferent towards this With most new licenses, if I wasn’t already a fan, I’d at least check it out, but I don’t feel anything here
