LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
@PreVizsla: Expecting figures with prints like these and brand-new parts even to be given away like that is not even remotely realistic. I'd rather they be included in sets than not have them at all -

While entirely superfluous, that's a neat-looking R2, especially at the smaller scale! The highlight of the set is undeniably Malak tho, but we knew that from the getgo -

Exabricks confirmed that the dwarves will have a new beard piece! Makes sense, because all of the existing ones include a moustache and thus wouldn’t fit in the slightest The only existing moustache-less beard piece is Balin’s, which of course includes the hair. Still good to have it confirmed! -

It was? Well then that bit of „information“ can be safely ignored Love the anniversary boxart!! -
As @Ashnflash points out, there is also a set codenamed "Music" in the Icons theme, which may be a more fitting candidate

Neat idea (would also fit with the "multiple eyes" tidbit, if that's even real), but that would make it the only Mando set to have an anniversary figure Then again, there is no clear pattern which sets get anniversary figures and which don't. Seems completely arbitrary to me, so who knows at this point Yeah, that was strange. I suppose someone heard about the actual leak from the set (as in film set) and decided to fabricate a LEGO set rumour out of it? Still weird it's not coming in either the May or June waves. That thing would be such as cool side build! Of course vastly out of scale with the previous IG figures, but still. Or as a large-scale buildable figure, as you suggest, which would give us Grogu in yet another scale. Wouldn't say no to that! -
Yes, both themes are scheduled for October. But sets based on a biopic, even a heavily fictionalised one? How? The only thing I can see coming out of that would be a polybag And wasn‘t it said that both themes are geared towards a female audience?

Whatever Buffalo is, it also gets a BrickHeadz set (40750, 239 pcs), according to @Lego_Minecraft_Goat. Its release date is also October.

Autocorrect was having some morbid fun, I see Calendars tend to feature minifigs from the year before (leftover stock ), so if there’s a baddie in here, it has to be a minifig that appeared in 2023. TESB/ROTJ Boba maybe? Surprising he hasn’t been in a calendar yet! -
Definitely! If TLG only made sets for „guaranteed successes“, they simply wouldn‘t make any sets based on new movies. Even a successful film can happen to barely move any merch and vice versa. It‘s always a gamble While TLG seem to have become more careful lately, friggin Superman sets should be not be that risky

Possibly, yes. It could also be a DC set though The Iron Man minifig from the upcoming Spidey sets leaked! Nice to see a different Tony faceprint -

Nope, not even that. The pattern was: Descriptions at London Toy Fair Descriptions and a few pictures at Nuremberg Toy Fair (most licensed themes were off-limits) Full pictures at NY Toy Fair Descriptions being allowed stopped some time before 2019 (I remember because one poor guy got fired that year for sending the HP minifig list in DMs here on EB). Nuremberg used to useful until shortly before the pandemic, and NYTF stopped being worthwhile around the same time because they suddenly only had 1HY stuff on display anymore. I think the shift was in 2018, because I remember the Great Hall being the only real highlight at NYTF, besides the JWFK sets. Most of the other themes had nothing new there. Those descriptions did not come from toy fairs though. The 2022 descriptions came from prelims that didn‘t leak (I know because I saw them) and D2C sets aren‘t shown at these events, so the Gringotts descriptions had a different source too. Also, they came out wellllllll after „toy fair season“. Or rather, the pale shadow of its former glory -
Hopefully we still get minifigs in that case, otherwise I‘m not interested

Also, he said „new IP”. Does he mean for LEGO (well, duh) or new in general, i.e., a recent IP? Can’t think of too many popular exclusive family-friendly IPs Netflix has in its catalogue…

He didn’t specify which of the two themes it was, or did he? Also, both themes have 10+ sets at most, so ST can be ruled out Maybe it’s ATLA after all, albeit way too late
