  1. Superman is the greatest hero in existence and Batman is a poopiehead. There, that should lure him back
  2. Which set do you mean? As far as I'm aware, there were only two Cap 4 sets we knew of before (the playset with Red Hulk and the buildable figure), and now this Brickheadz 2-pack is our third set
  3. If there were sets based on The War of the Rohirrim, we would have heard about them a long time ago. I'd say it's not impossible for the theme to return with playsets, but that's more likely to coincide with the release of a new live-action film (i.e., the Hunt for Gollum). My guess would be another D2C set next year, and mayyyyyyybe playsets in 2026? Fingers crossed!
  4. Fair enough. But given how often themes from the 80s and 90s are brought up here and treated as the pinnacle of all sets in existence, some people do seem to want exactly that I know it's the "unpopular opinion" thread, my point was just that it doesn't make much sense to go back to those days. Exactly! It's funny to me that TLG is accused of being uncreative when great themes like Dreamzzz and Mookie Kid exist
  5. So TLG should be more creative… by regressing and doing the exact same stuff they did in the 80s and 90s that nobody except for a segment of AFOLs care about nowadays. Great plan It’s like saying Marvel should go back to their 70s style and cover their actors in cheap costumes and bodypaint. Yes, those shows still have their charme and their fans, but new audiences would NOT want to see that. You simply have to keep up with the times. Licensed themes are what keeps the company alive. Without them, I wouldn’t be a collector, and I wager many other people are in the exact same boat. I like the in-house themes, but those are not what I’m here for.
  6. But none of the recent series even had a character that could have sported a gun in the first place
  7. Since when is TLG shying away from guns, especially in cartoony or fantasy settings? We even had CMF figures with guns before, like the two cowboys or the highwayman!
  8. Agreed. It’s so cool to finally have him in minifig form, but out of all the anniversary figures, he’s by far the easiest to include in a regular set. It is what it is tho Which is funny, because the leaks for The Acolyte had Paul as the codename for the Sith lord, and he may actually be in a set next year (unless “Paul” isn’t the guy with the sick helmet but actually his master, in which case his role would likely be too small for a set, à la Snoke in TFA)
  9. Just finished the set at 3am Absolutely love it, will definitely end up in the top 3 sets this year It’s a great building experience, the result looks stunning, and the minifigs are excellent! Transporting it is also a lot easier than I thought. Really like the designer’s thought process here. She did a great job in general, excited to see what else she’s gonna work on!
  10. Oh, I get that. But there’s a different solution: just extend the shelf life of the existing sets The TROS Falcon for instance is still available for that exact reason and other popular sets have survived for ages without remakes to replace them. That said, the new RTG sets fulfill the same purpose but with a twist for long-term fans as well, so we have the best of both worlds here
  11. That Bumblebee looks quite nice to me! Excited to see it transformed It’s been two years since the Optimus set came out, and it still feels extremely weird to have collabs between Hasbro and TLG. It‘s gotten even more intense now with the the D&D Ideas set and CMF series! I hope they continue. This may not only result in more Transformers sets (that aren‘t Megatron), but also a Mr Potato Head figure for Toy Story 5
  12. The special seems to be a 25th anniversary tie-in, so I wouldn‘t expect anything on that level next year. Unlikely, but I definitely wouldn‘t mind more sets based on RTG from what we see in the trailer (and there will surely be even more insanity in the actual special) The best we can hope for next year is what they seem to be doing already anyway (for the most part), a healthy mixture of sets from different eras. From 2026 onwards we will finally see the release of new movies again, which they will surely capitalise on
  13. Same, I‘ll take wacky out-there sets with meme-y minifigs over boring remakes any day I don‘t mind them taking some of the bigger slots at all!
  14. Personally, I think they did an amazing job this year. The anniversary figures are the best celebratory idea they‘ve ever had for any theme in my opinion, with Saw and Cal being my favourites of the bunch And finally a Nien Nunb minifig! The Mando S3 sets are great, the Peridea set has a lot of potential, and I‘m still amused by Jedi Bob and Darth Jar Jar appearing in sets. These are all big Ws in my book!
  15. I‘m sick and tired of the „why did they make [set I personally don‘t want] instead of [set I personally want]“ type of argument. It‘s just stupid. Sure, if the Dark Falcon wasn‘t made, they instead would have released a Clone set with every single missing named CT The Clone crowd gets on my nerves to a point where I wish they wouldn‘t release any such sets anymore for a coupla years Giving in to the bullying with the 501st BP was a huge mistake.
  16. The D2C is going to be a model of Mario riding on Yoshi, based on the SMW sprite Sounds neat! Now I wonder why they haven‘t done any pixelart sets before
  17. Not a fan of the idea. CMF series should feature a wide range of characters, not just the main cast of a single upcoming movie (the LEGO movies being obvious exceptions). That‘s what the sets are for! I can‘t believe I agree with Turtleman here, but Snyderverse Supes is definitely sad. On multiple levels.
  18. Or who can forget the slide-splitting „I‘m Venom!“ joke that only appears in the trailers Sony make the X-Men movies (post TLS) look cohesive, and that‘s saying something! The torso‘s the same between the boxart and the lifestyle pictures, but the arms are not, which is weird. TLG actively discourages people from swapping arms and it’s not very likely they took these images with anything other than the finalised set, so where did this bare-armed version of AoU Hawkeye come from? Some people think that this is the version actually included in the set and the black-armed one from the boxart and renders is the wrong one, but we will see
  19. That got a good laugh out of me, well done Indeed. They weren’t exactly setting the world on fire, but they did feature desirable minifigs here and there and sometimes had new prints! Too bad they’re not around anymore
  20. My point wasn’t that there isn’t enough discussion in this thread, but rather too much nonsense in the sister thread But you’re right of course, there is less discussion going on compared to previous years for the very reasons you pointed out.
  21. YES. YES. YES.* * translation: I’d buy that in a heartbeat! Unironically a great idea in my book
  22. Kinda ironic considering there was a very early false rumour about an IG mech set (which was obviously based on leaked info from the production of the show itself) Definitely a missed opportunity, but that can still be rectified next year! Thanks for reminding me! People posted quite a few examples of single-coloured dual-moulded pieces in the thread, so it’s definitely a possibility! I hope they either pick that one or the FO Stormie helmet
  23. I like both of the leaked figures! Evil 3PO with his red eyes reminds me of the scene in TROS though, and now I’m sad. 5 years later and still no frikking Babu Frik
  24. There’s a big difference between a movie series and a (wannabe) cinematic universe
  25. Exactly. Fans say all the time of how tired they are of the yearly remakes and the onslaught of Clones, and now people are clamouring for more of that? And no, TLG will not stop making sets based on new content in favour of random CIS ships or Sio Bibble or something 90% of OT and PT sets are remakes, and that’s not likely to change.
