Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Given that Rhino’s appearing in the Kraven film, I guess Sony are still trying to put together the Sinister Six… *sigh* They just can’t help it, can they. I hope they finally give up afterwards, a Spidey cinematic universe without Spidey just doesn’t work (and given the general quality of these films, it still wouldn’t even if Spidey was actually around. You simply can’t build a functioning fully-fledged cinematic universe around ONE character ) -

Cool minifig! That likely means the SC set comes out in August, rather than October or so. Hope the set includes all main characters! -

I’m not saying the minifig selection would be worthless without Bill and Charlie, but this is THE opportunity to get them and a set of this size should include at least one new character or significant variant Fingers crossed! And nice to have Errol confirmed. I suppose it’ll be a new print then! -

Yes. We are more than 25 pages behind the DC thread despite having at least 4 times as many sets Bring on the aslume! 60 pages of unrealistic wishlists, top 50 set & movie lists, insane hot takes, Venom horse jokes, off-topics detours, and comments lamenting the state of the thread (), let’s gooooooo -

Watch the trailer and all shall be revealed If the aslume is Sony’s HQ, then yes. Given that the minifigs are not that special, I doubt it’ll be significantly cheaper, compared to sets with more impressive minifig rosters -

How is The Acolyte allegedly breaking canon? Because of what Ki-Adi Mundi says in TPM? Well, there are multiple ways this can easily be resolved. Either the characters who learn about the Sith's existence all die, they believe it's not a Sith (but instead a wannabe or a Knight of Ren or whatever), or they just cover it up, paving the way for the Jedi to ultimately lose their way. How about we wait for the show to air before making baseless accusations? This is "OmG tHeY rEtCoNnEd ReBeLs By KiLliNg ThE gRaNd InQuIsItOr" all over again. And about non-fans working on the show: Tony Gilroy, who made Andor, admitted he was not a fan of SW prior to working on Rogue One -

Paying extra for that license simply wouldn‘t be worth it. What else besides Venom and a few (uninspired) side characters could they do? Riot? And then what, other SSCU characters? Kraven? Morbius?! Madame Web?!?? Way more sensible to just stick with comic Venom for the time being and wait for the MCU version -

10 minifigs sounds reasonable and the other rumoured info fits with the prelim! Not sure about the “everything’s printed” claim though. The 2020 set had a looooooot of stickers, and this version is bound to include even more details and references, so this sounds a bit fishy Isn’t this the same source who claimed that the ceiling in the GH would feature some stickers? If so, seems like the source is credible, except when it comes to stickers and prints -

The release dates weren‘t swapped though, at least from what we know. Publicly, The Acolyte never had any release date other than the one we know (i.e., next week), but of course it’s possible TLG was originally told the series would arrive later in the year, hence no sets yet -

Still in the process of building the sets, and I noticed we just got the very first minifig with the new sienna skintone, namely Padma! I wonder if the other new skintone introduced earlier this year (umber) will also show up in a minifig soon -

Sol and Mae definitely, followed by the dark side character with that sick slasher smile helmet! I assume it‘s the Sith apprentice rather than the master, but we‘ll see. Jecki and Kelnacca are other good candidates, followed by Torbin and Yord. Vernestra Rwoh has potential too, since she‘s appaered in a lot of previous THR material and she has a pretty distinctive lightsaber design (IYKYK)! Still curious why we don‘t get a set immediately. If Skeleton Crew can, so can this show Or maybe that‘s a good thing, so they have to pay less attention to potential spoilers -

I built that set too today and thought the same thing! …at first, but then realised the helmet is dual-moulded and they‘d have to use white for both portions for it to work Have they ever done a one-colour version of a dual-moulded piece before? -

New info from @Brick Clicker: The Burrow costs $260 The GWP, 40695, is Borgin & Burkes: Floo Network Sounds neat! I suppose the new Burrow will also include an updated Floo network play feature to link these two together! -

Maybe? The upcoming Minecraft Crafting Table set, which is also scheduled for August, was supposed to be revealed tomorrow but of course got leaked already Since there aren‘t that many sets scheduled for July, I suppose they could instead reveal some of the SW sets to fill the gap? -

That custom uses the old Stormie helmet piece though, which is no longer in production. As @CallumPears points out, the current dual-moulded piece wouldn‘t work since the eyes are moulded, which don‘t fit Enoch‘s mask design in the slightest That said, if the old Stormie helmet mould was still around, that would be a good fit! -

They were still using it in 2020 for the Sith Trooper I don‘t think they‘d shelve a versatile mould that quickly, despite the current drought of ST era sets. Rey‘s hairpiece for instance was still in production too, recently! -
Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Momotof's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Honestly, I'd be okay with that. Of course I'd like to see the "theme" continue with even more sets in the years to come, but what I wanted the most out of the return of LOTR was Sauron, Barad-dûr, a balrog and a fellbeast, and we already got all of that! Granted, the balrog is just a Brickhead, but beggars can't be choosers -
Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
The Gringotts set we already have is clearly meant to be compatible with DA. Besides, DA will soon be 4 years old and will likely face its EoL within a year or two, negating any further add-ons that rely on its availability. A DA remake is more likely I think Not very likely. The ship has so little screentime and is of such limited significance story-wise, it‘s almost a miracle we‘re getting the playset version, let alone a more expensive one The Knight Bus, Flying Ford, and Hogsmeade are very plausible ideas though! -
Personally, I‘d rather they not adapt any superpowered villains for The Man II if they try to ground them too much. Grounding characters like the Joker, Riddler, Catwoman, and the Penguin works, but Clayface, Freeze, Bane, Poison Ivy etc should keep their superpowers or gadgetry. There’s nothing wrong with having a „realistic“ take, but the filmmakers shouldn‘t feel ashamed of the inherent pulpiness and sillyness of the characters. We‘re taking about a franchise centering around an orphan billionaire dressing up like a bat to conquer his fears In my opinion, they should thus either fully embrace the powers, or focus on villains that are more grounded to begin with, like Hush and/or the Court of Owls.

BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Ohhh, that‘d be perfect! Another trooper variant I‘d still be thrilled to see is the Juggernaut Pilot, but that‘d make little sense in a BP (especially since during 95% of their screentime it‘s Mando and Mayfeld in disguise). But I digress, this turns into wishlisting… So far, the following helmets have been suggested (unless I forgot someone‘s suggestions): Regular Stormie Range Trooper TIE/AT-AT Pilot Phase II Clone Trooper ANAD Iron Man Any other ideas? Maybe the FO Stormie‘s could work? That one has enough printing area as well -
