  1. Cool Idea! I wonder what will you get with the buggy motors... By the way what kind of lab you are building? Breakin' bad?
  2. Seems to be a real fun. The bodywork is jaw dropping. Again.
  3. Hi István, I don't know how did this topic slip my attention up to this day, but I'm glad I've found it. Reading it top to bottom I really happy and appreciate all your effort that you put into this project. In about 5 minutes I'll order a controller. Long story short: Thank you Attila
  4. I'm afraid it won't work. The 7L rack mesh with the 12 tooth gear what is bigger in diameter than the wormgears are. Wormgears have the diameter same as the 8 tooth gear. But if you use one of the old type of racks that should do the job. Sadly those aren't odd number of studs. (6,8,10,etc)
  5. There is. I mean hope. Those pics I made to help me rebuild wouldn't be useful at all. But there is an urge to make it right. I'll be on it. Please give me some time. Thank you for the nice words too.
  6. What an incredible idea the tubes as cable housing. This bike is better than what I was capable to imagine. Hat off.
  7. 47 x 37,5 x 15 cm. Smaller than those you've listed
  8. Seems ok to me. I have no idea what causes the difference. Paul Boratko claimed that his model does well, just like yours, but his wife's model fails by 10-15 degrees. I guess you go ahead and build it. Keep tasting the shifter as you get further in the building procedure.
  9. That's right. Before I posted this mod I noticed that there is a "close call", so I tested for good, and never failed. The knobwheel shouldn't even go that deep behind as it goes. My advice is to get that shifting cube out as it is and build it again. That is what I do in similar situation...
  10. I I've been watching over your video for a couple of times. That changeover catch looks hardly moving around that axle. It should be loose kept in position only by the rubber XX part.. Should turn back straight after the knobwheel came out from behind...
  11. In fact rather savage.. 5cm wide insulation tape. But it serves the purpose quite well. The edges are mostly ok, but the pinhole parts... Anyway pro: I can pull it of and it is like new. Con: pinholes and the back of the panels a dodgy
  12. DSC_1463 by Attika Moc, on Flickr I think it is pure beauty. Dispite it isn't an official color.
  13. It is ok. that cv must be in 45 degree, so you good to go. Sorry coming back late... oops I quoted you Tommy instead of Trace 17, but it is in the same subjet.
  14. Cheers mate, however help me out please. What is that HoF? These are the moments when I realise I am aging. Wheel cover, and other heretic things: Beware! Explicit content https://www.flickr.com/photos/141631433@N07/albums And still there is some free room under the hood. This paddle shifter just itching my fantasy It is called evo for a reason anyway...
  15. Thank you guys, I'm glad you like it, as it is some sort of an introduction for me here...
  16. I'm glad that video has made you convinced. About the scale: It is a surprising point of view. I always tought that doing it in smaller size is a chalange to pack all those functions. Actually from this state making it biger isn't that much work as all those things fits in the small, surely would fit in a scaled up version. But that isn't going to happen soon, as here I am with a porsche that has a miserable chassis. The first task is to bulild one from the scratch. :-) Cheers, I didn't want to change on the main concept of how it looks, that's why I used beams. BTW your idea from yesterday, that 90 degree thingy...That is just great. Made me think that the next version of this model is going to have a sequential gearbox. Perhaps with paddles. Will be a big job in this scale, but worth it I guess. I'll try to pay attention on the right sequence....
  17. The wheel covers I forgot to mention... I bought those rc off road tyres from ebay, and they came on rim. So there is an otherwise pretty byproduct. I grabed the saw and cut the inner 80 percent off. Bit of sandpaper here and there to smooth the edge after the cut, a narrow strip of insulation tape on that 4-5mm wide circle what left beside the collar, and it nicely fits on that lego rim. The one you noticed is the first set I've done, therefore far not perfect. The "handpaint" was a dead end road for me. Since then there is a couple of others. I couldn't resist. If you let me know witch forum is apropriate for this subject, I'll make some photos if you are interested. You might wanna see some other modified parts too. I'm a heretic
  18. I find it a remarkable idea. Wow. There is much more in this concept, than just fixing this issue. Great!
  19. I can't imagine a better jury than you on this subject. When I bought my used 8880 as my 2nd, or 3th set, in 2012, I knew everything about it by your site, Technicopedia. (so feel yourself responsible for making me spend a fortune on this hobby! But a very big thanks for both. Thank you Máté.
  20. Shame on me I don't know the exact stud numbers. (never counted) But the video has a few pics with the two models beside each other. I should say, if the original was let say 1:8 scale this is like 1:10.... Sorry being so unspecific. I have to get along with the uncomfortable parts of this hobby, like the documentation. I'm glad you like it guys. Really great to have feedback from an expert audience.
  21. The first version to the last that you see here took 2-2 and a half years, but not continuously. I've built a version enjoyed, then took it apart. Half a year later built it again with some improvement, then disassembled again. This has been going on for that 2 years. If I want to estimate real cumulative time was about 2 months. As I built the newer versions those gave me some kind of feedback, how my abilities are improving. I have to say it was really entertaining to see as I got further and further. For instance the rear wheel steering came up only in the last version. Before that I couldn't even imagine that it was possible at all.
  22. I know... I'm a lazy bas..rd that I still did not write a proper one.
