  1. I completely agree. I don't like it when small children already get something where they only have to push a button to make something happen. They will find that out soon enough and - to be honest - it just makes you lazy, when there is no effort needed to achieve a result. Lego wants to be assembled and encourages to dissemble and rebuild it. That's just a so much more empowering thing. Even something as simple as Duplo already.
  2. ...woke up with some minifigs clutched in your hand? Just wondering
  3. I just finished building the new Ecto-1, which arrived today. I'd say it is slightly better than the old one. Especially the proper 4 seat layout makes it a much more useable model, where the old was mainly a display-piece really. The building experience was pretty similar. I built the first one about a year ago and the generous use of snot-techniques was indeed more than familiar. The proton-packs though... they have been and still are way too big and still make the minifigs fall over. Maybe I can come up with a less chunky solution. On a side-note: The current harassment Leslie Jones has to endure is absolutely disgusting. It is one thing to dislike a film (and some people who disliked it, even watched it...), but spreading hate against an actor is just grossly disgusting and incredibly coward. I am glad these people have been removed from Twitter - for good i hope. The bitter irony in such cases is that the very same people who harass others complain about a violation of their right of free speech when they get banned. Hatespeech is not expression of one's opinion.
  4. Very nice look! Clearly a proper grand hotel very good detailing on the facade I'd like to see the interior too
  5. Very cool ides to use brick separators. Who would think that they actually make for a good base for a star fighter!
  6. I made display stands for my fighters from the stormtrooper battle pack. So much for my opinion on the quality of the build Of course you can argue that you want a proper build with the minifigs, even if its of less interest, than in a non-battle pack, since the primary reason to buy a battle pack are the minifigs, but I welcome that they have made some more decent builds in the recent packs. Increases display- and play-value.
  7. Sadly we are a bit far away from the next cinema at Littleworlds HQ, so I guess we have to wait for the bluray/DVD/stream to see it. At least my Ecto-1 is in the mail As far as I heard, the film seems to be rather good, or at least better than part 2, which was really uninspired from the script-side as well as from the acting. Of course tastes differ... No matter what: stay civilized, folks
  8. I guess dry and dark is a pretty sure bet. I think you can't go wrong with storing such things only in a place where you would like to live too. So no humid, mouldy cellar or an attic which becomes a furnace during summer Maybe inside a bigger box to prevent the package from being damaged too.
  9. It looks absolutely adorable. Very elegant building! Though I am not sure about the choice of colours. I might have gone for more modern colour scheme, like in the cantina set from 2014. Apart from that, I wouldn't change a single piece
  10. Since you worked so hard on this wonderful comic, I sat down and went through the text. Here a list of the changes I propose. I am not a native speaker either, but they should be alright I usually have written down the beginning of the sentence/paragraph until the passage I have changed. Ending and beginnings are marked with ". Sometimes I used (...) to indicate that I skipped some text and went directly to the passage which needs to be changed. The changes are all in the order as they appear in the comic, so finding the right passage should be simple. I hope its all clear enough. Its all subtle corrections. Sometimes as little as adding a comma somewhere: "Kuiper Belt (...) from Earth" "The pain in my entire body. This is unbearable." "Yes, I feel it too." "I hope, Amanda will explain us what is going on. Let's see how the others are" Speaking with Amanda: "A charming female voice..." "It is lonleliness. The time abyss is scary, Dean" "Explain us what happened..." "I was only limited by thermal core fuel. By maintaining only critical systems, I was capable to hold for a long time. But I needed to secure some power t obe operational aften wakening you up..." "Amanda, this is madness!" "This is not true. You are hurting me saying this." "A few hours later" "Ben, we need..." "Some time later the crew moved away the bodies of their dead friends" "Their remains placed in two small cargo boxes." "It was Caleb who invited me to this mission." "There is nothing more we can do..." "Do you believe Amanda's words?" "What terrifies me most is the total..." "Maybe the communication technology has changed. We are 106 years in the future after all." (same for his dialogue) "Anyway, I really worry about our home." Alternatively "I am really concerned about our home." "Do you have any idea where we..." "We had a secret contact base at the Kuiper Belt" "I calculated all. The base - if it still exists - is not..." "I am setting the course and preparing the thermal core engine." "Can't rest, can you?" "Lets rotate the ship to begin deceleration." "We will lose a lot of time this way." "Yes, but if they catch s on travelling speed, we have no chance to defend ourselves." "The ships are approaching" "Let us try to lure them into the asteroid field" ("lure" as in trying to make the attackers follow them there) "They are so fast! I can't shake them off. They shoot all the time." Instead of "Right stabilizer destroyed!" maybe the nautical term "Starboard stabilizer destroyed!" Instead of "Did you afraid of me?": "Were you afraid of me?" "What now? Our current trajectory has been calculated." I hope that helps you a bit
  11. Looks very good, or shall I say scary and horrible? very dynamic pose too. It really looks like it is about to jump at the viewer! Wonderful MOC!
  12. Amazing piece of work! The visuals are top notch and the story is very captivating. The grammar mistakes are not terrible, and you are a much better writer than you think, believe me I am very looking forward for more!
  13. Oh my, what a shame! The pictures look fantastic. Very lifelike and super impressive. Thats really a prime example of MOCing here :thumbup:Are you going to rebuild it or move on to something else? Of course I wou!d welcomd more shots of it. Its too good to be lost!
  14. It appears that they stopped producing these baseplates in Austria over a year ago (possibly longer already) and moved the production to the Czech Republic, which is in the "neighbourhood" but of course has much lower wages.
  15. That looks pretty awesome! It also appears to be quite a pile of bricks once its in the non-digital realm, which makes it a quite ambitious project I hope to see it built though. It seems very promising
  16. This is just awesome! A tiny, sleek build - but with an incredible amount of detailing. There is some very clever building going on here!
  17. That's pretty spectacular! Very impressive build I hope to see and read more of you here (hint hint)
  18. Wow! What a build all the silly little details, scenes within scenes - thats just my department. You did a fantastic job putting this together. Just hilarious and so whimsical
  19. This looks so accurate great work! And the shaping of the hull features an indeed interesting technique!
  20. First hit I found on , but dont ask me how they do with a fully armed and armored knight
  21. Wow, this is really gigantic! Very impressive build. Looks like a museum piece!
  22. The irony that the only castle-sets* this year are either a giveaway or a superexpensive megacastle (*Nexo Knight has nice villains. But not much else for me.)
  23. Very cool new banner! Harley just steals the show There is some lovely silliness going on with these banners in general - since I'm a rather new member here still I sadly didn't get to see the older ones. Could you post them somewhere - or have they been posted already? I'd love to see more of that stuff
  24. Now that's a serious build - 4080 pieces! I had completely missed it, until I saw the posts today about it everywhere. It looks pretty amazing and cute! I also like that the interior is rather lush with its many quotes on disney-films and looks pretty solid too and not just like a facade, as you should expect in that price-range. All in all, I find it of course lightyears away from a sensible pricing, but that aside, from a sheer aesthetic point of view, it is very lovable and i see some pretty neat building ideas on it. It could definitely have more minifigs though.
