[Poll] What do you do with new sets?
Littleworlds replied to mocbuild101's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I agree completely. Lego should be one of those things that gets spared from min-maxing. I noticed that really when building my first modulars. It is utterly focussing to forage for the right pieces - almost hypnotic. -
Its really an excellent ideas-project. When I saw it the first time on the website, I was almost sure it would make it into an official set. I am also happy that they kept the modular approach. I think that is a crucial aspect of the set. It possibly also will hike the price up significantly. But, ah well - its never perfect, isn't it? It may also mean very good news for classic-castle fans, since it looks like it is going to contain quite a number of castle-related pieces and I definitely expect a couple of medieval-style Minifigs as well.

[Poll] What do you do with new sets?
Littleworlds replied to mocbuild101's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I buy and build a set as soon as I get it. Nothing unusual here. Then I desperately try to make free space for it to display it somewhere. Eventually after a while I might modify them, rarely taking them apart. As a rule of thumb here: the larger the set, the less likely it is to be taken apart. Modifications, especially improvements may well happen. I'm not looking into resell value, or have the need to keep them all in their original configuration. If I can make a set more suiting to my ideas and needs, then I do it. -
This looks indeed quite excellent! Its certainly one of the objects Lego bricks weren't really made for, but you did an excellent job in getting its shape and feel right. Are the wedge-elements of the saucer-section slightly tilted upwards? I would either recommend doing so, or (maybe even better) add a 1 or 2 thick plate layer half its diameter to generate that gentle upwards-slope the original has, if stud placement allows it.

Hello Richard! Welcome to Eurobricks. See you around!

You really added what the original set was missing. Excellent job doing so!. This just looks spot on!

What is your favorite Lego Theme?
Littleworlds replied to Foreman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Tricky question. From the existing ones, I probably the most in awe by the creator expert modulars. They are just the ideal centerpieces for a city layout and wonderfully "overengineered". My all time favourite will be the one that brought me back from my dark ages, Kingdoms 2. Amazing Minifig design! -
Nice! This is definitely something worth having. I'm using non-technic parts for mine so far, but this one really gives the displays dynamic.

Thanks for sharing - looks interesting! I think castle, with its minifigures and accessories has a massive impact for Lego as a toy. Extending its range and horizon of possibilities. Just like space has as well.

Looks neat!

Absolutely! There is no need to limit colours, as long as it works out in the end. After all the official modulars are pretty colourful by themselves, too. Asking me, however, about my favourite build is really unfair. They look all great. If I had to pick only one, I would go for Sweets & Co. The facade patterns are just great, plus the corner-layout, that adds depth and dimension, plus the detailing on the ground level, including the tree - it just says wow to me.
-
They are great for airplanes indeed. Just the right proportions.
-
A big compliment to your builds, Pau. The sheer inventiveness in shaping and creating surfaces is simply stunning. The play with patterns and colours - so much to discover and see. A shame I haven't found this thread earlier. Just awesome work!

This drawing is really outstanding indeed and in general a really interesting idea. People might actually pay money to have their MOCs or whole city layouts drawn like that...

Such a lovely celebration of ugliness and destruction! All these cracks in the walls and broken up road surfaces, the textures and colours - very good work and fitting together perfectly!
-
Great looking stunt plane! I really like the engine (adds so much to the barnstormer-feel) and the shaping of the fuselage.
-
Great looking building and a very cute video. I really like how the magazines are hung off the wires. That really gives it some real-life feeling. Nifty! A good MOC doesn't needs 2000+ pieces to be outstanding!
-
This looks great so far! The buildings are really well recreated and look just like the real thing. I can't add much about rollercoaster pieces though. Jangbricks has made a quite extensive review and speedbuild video on it. Maybe that provides some feedback. Apart from that: keep up the good work. This looks already very, very promising!

Wow, these look great! Excellent ideas for the bumpers and the fenders. Their lines look very realistic and the colours are spot on.
-
There are some really neat scenes going on! Nicely detailed building too. Very charming MOC!

Looks very good! I really like the way you built the bar. Very Star Wars-appropriate look. I played some of the predecessor games and it seems that Kyle can't really enter any bar without ending up in a huge fight. Great games!
