You've set a great tone starting out with casualties :P

Garmadon, without the baseplate the whole thing would become somewhat unstable I'll build a custom plate base the next moc(s) :) Its sort of in one piece, but the 'props' aren't. I had to put it on the floor to put it into direct light. Next time clear out my desk so I can get better camera angles. Sweet, I'll post it into a city when that option comes online, (if the taxes aren't to high :D) Bart

Thanks! I was kind of worried that my different colour 20 year old 'white' bricks would make it look weird, therefore the story about the paint. But it did work out on the photos. @game leaders If I where to place this on an Eslandonian colony, would that work? how big is the change my shady business is caught and forcibly taken by the law, or me being fined? I wouldn't want poor Jacob to be hung obviously. Bart

Ah great! Indeed I don't have many bricks, and the majority won't find in the time frame (I've a lot of police and other cars :P) I can match about 20 figs that would fit in the BoBs world. so small buildings with actions is things you can expect from me :) I'll stick to my characters personal story line for now, until we get underway. Pirates don't have any rules or things so far :P no trade unions to join, compulsory religions or something. so not really sure what to be doing exactly, but all others fractions had way to many rules, complications and things for my liking.

I like the toadstool! This overly religious Oleon gives my character the creeps though

Rodsh Derr is visiting his good friend Jacob who runs his warehouse for Rodsh. The Derr family used to be a famous and rich free merchant family. But after the death of Rodsh his parents died in a house fire, and Rodsh himself disappeared at sea, the family business diminished. The last thing Derr senior did is open a warehouse in the new colonies and send cousin Jacob over to run it. The Derr warehouse is known among both the sides of the law, as you can buy anything their, and Jacob buys and sells without to much questions asked. At the moment they have a boat, spare mast, canon, shakos and other items in stock. Jacob makes sure all the paperwork is correct, and taxes and bribes are paid. At the moment Rodsh is trying to sell his liquor trough the warehouse, but Jacob ensures him there is no market for it at the moment. So Rodsh is going to take it to Bastion instead, but first his ship needs repairs. The warehouse looks a bit shaggy and may require a new coat of paint, but the looks help to keep a low profile, the structure is sound and the roof watertight. @game staff (Or how do I address you?) I intent to play this game to the fullest, so my character owns this building. Do I have to pick a spot where it is situated or do you do that? Bart PS; the build up surface is 16x16 but I don't have a smaller baseplate (sorry)

Name: Rodsh Derr age: 22 Proffesion: Pirate/smuggler Formerly Merchant navy Lieutenant Rodsh became a pirate after finding a treasure, and not wanting to share it with his captain, who had the habbit of taking all for him self. Rodsh leads a small gropu of man together with his wife, Cathy, targeting small merchants, steal their valuables and their cargo if they think they can sell it for a profit. Sometimes he makes deals with the merchant, smuggeling their cargo past the tax collectors and landing it for more profit on remote beaches. Rodsh is not afraid to experiment, or take risks, to fly a false flag or the dress up in some uniform when it suits his needs. His crew calls him Captain, but he doesn't really feel that way. He's not famous and is very okay with that. Rodsh and Cathy landed on a small beach, and having some sword practise. Old crewman Jack is fishing for dinner (I just see now that the pirate flag on the back of the sloop is perfectly inline with the camera, in other words you can't see it) I use the gold/blue as Sea Rats flag (I don't have those colours) Bart

I'm signing up! Have to dig up my sigfig though, haven't touched my lego in a while. But I really like this idea. I've ones made a post on this forum about the back story of my sigfig. but I can't find it, I can only look back 4 made posts in my own history? so I'll make up a new one. (or some one else can dig it up (might be 4/5 years ago o.O) - More coming soon - Bart

I made a Flickr album with a lot of screenshots of the individual parts. click me overview: *garden tower and the garden around it isn't nearly finished so not worth taking any pictures.

Well changing colours isn't a very difficult thing in LDD, so the blue can change. the idea was that the red is brick tile roof, the blue slate and the green (corroded) copper. All red felt boring somehow. you can't see from this angle, but all buildings have doors and windows and details.
-
its getting a bit complex

thanks for the explainations, maybe you can take a 'minifig view' picture too, must look huge when sailing underneath it. Bart

some one any inspiration for me on that last tower? (the one on the most forward corner on the last picture) its 12 sided, so more or less round. Bart
-
I like the overal feeling, and the stool design
-
11000 something at the moment according to the count in LDD. But I expect it to rise (a lot) my mind is full of details I want to add. But focusing on the big buildings so far. But I used 1x4 and 2x4 as default wall building bricks. So it could have been lower.
-
Spend a few more evenins on it: Still lacking some buildings and details. But it looks like a Castle now!
-
Amazing! especialy the overcome of the techical challange to have the whole figure self supporting within itself. I'm scared to ask but did you shoot a picture before you put the 'skin/armour' on? Bart

oh very nice, the greenish building is it sloping upwards ?
-
@Balbo, yes I would like to build in real bricks too, but I don't have that many bricks. the chimney is just reaching above the ridge of the roof of the house. I first decided to make it this size because (in my mind) it combines the chimney of the big fire place in the main hall (left building) and the kitchens under need the house at the moment it measures 4 by 6 studs. Bart

this might give more of a castle feel to it: on the right the keep tower, which is still a bit crude, lacking some details. I think the rooftop windows on the house look good. you can see the covered walkway from house to keep, and the walkway from wall to wall around the keep. I started a six sided tower on the other side, which is also connected to the House via a covered walkway (blue roof) the chimeny might be to big?

Hello all, well I been playing around in LDD a bit. and decided I want to build a castle. but not wanting to get lost in interior details, I'll be focusing on the outside looks. but I'd like your opinion/input. As you can see I'm going for a brick build image with a staircase facade on this building. on the left (big door) the main hall, and on the right the living space for the castle lord. my question at this point, the grey tiles on the staircase facade, yes or no? I'm still experimenting with small dormers on the roof (this side) greetings Bart
