Sets that makes your highly emotional?
TeriXeri replied to AViewToALego's topic in General LEGO Discussion
For me, 928 Galaxy Explorer probably is up there, even while it wasn't my own set, it defines my love for Classic Space. -
Back in 1998 I bought the 5600 Radio Control Racer instead of 6977 Arachnoid Starbase , both were 1998 sets of the same price. While the RC car looks outdated to current standards, the Starbase is timeless and somewhat unique still. Oh well. The RC car still wasn't a bad set and has some nice parts for the time as it's a 5-in-1 build, but technological the remote control and many batteries feels a bit clunky to current standards. Also I didn't use it outdoors , because of fear of LEGO parts falling off and getting lost. I did enjoy the set very much ,but from a current perspective, I'd rather have the Insectoids set. At least I still have 6907: Sonic Stinger , and the Light&Sound part still works now, so that's good.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
€29,99 still could be a small boat, but I hope LEGO is fairly priced this time around, and if they don't put a criminal boat alongside the set, it can work for that price. Question remains if they'll use the 2016 (40x12) hull , a new one, or the older 2006/2011 size (51x14),or the medium sized Diving Yacht/Race Boat (28x8) stud hull. The 51x14x6 was last used with Coast Guard 2017 The 40x12x5 was only used once with the 2016 Police Boat, but seems to fit the budget better. A set with 2 smaller boats doesn't make much sense since one just came out with the Elite Police, and this set name suggests a set like seen in 2006-2011-2016. -

I certainly wonder what hull it would use, but the timing seems right, as there has been a Police Boat in 2006 2011 2016. I'd imagine this time they use a darkblue hull version of the 2016 boat size (12x40x5) , which only has appeared once, but still is the most recent one , and without a secondary criminal boat , the price could still work. Maybe the criminals have a boat with the hideout. -

Found another set number via Brickshop.eu as in upcoming sets : Dutch price: 60277 Police Boat €29,99 - 28 December 2020 -
This is amazing, and very IDEAS worthy, even if LEGO likely would scale it down.

Royal Carriage would make no sense, City has a king now? Unless it's some upcoming LEGO City Adventures episode character. I'd more expect a Castle-theme-inspired Creator 3-in-1 set. Cabin is also typical of 3-in-1, like tree and beach houses, they are reccuring subjects, but of course could be a winter-ski cabin as well, who knows. So far not going to expect it to be real. -

I think tha'ts what's supposed to be the plan in the "My City" line sets, to have some connectivity to the Road set. Sets under My City will be things like the Family House, Skate Park , City Center, hopefully with the main focus on the actual City and few to no vehicles. I don't mind vehicles at all ,but I like when vehicles and buildings are sold seperately, or kept small when it's meant to be a City Layout subtheme. Of course this doesn't include obvious vehicle playsets like construction sites, police/fire stations , bus stops, garages etc where vehicles are part of the experience. But a Skate Park would not need to include a car/truck, and a Family House maybe only a family car. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
TeriXeri replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Maybe Overwatch 2 CMF if by that time the game releases. Overwatch License kind of been on-hold right now. Also if it's 12, should be enough to get most of the remaining humanoids at least, the bigger characters likely would be in sets if they continue (such as the rumoured Orisa set) -
I think the IKEA products are nice. I don't care that much about the studs on Levi's or Adidas using the actual studs on the clothing&shoes, but the shoes don't look bad. Now, I recently saw this pop up on Brickset, it's listed under Education, so not sure if LEGO will sell it directly, but it would be nice seeing more storage/sorting solutions offered, via IKEA and such in the future

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
60219: Construction Loader was a pretty good 2019 Construction set that wasn't 4+, it's quite a simple build, but not Juniors. The 2020 4+ set doesn't really do it for me, as the 2019 Loader is just a better vehicle that can actually pick up and dump bricks. But yes, a lot of typical Construction vehicles haven't been made in a while after 2017, beside some under Arctic, or Mining. Some new varied yellow vehicle Construction sets would indeed to be good timing with the new My City focused line of sets. 2015-2017 scale of vehicles seems fine to me for a City, while 2005-2009 Construction sets were pretty huge and more industrial/large scale, for themes like Creator Expert modulars etc. -
Even LEGO's own campaigns seem a bit odd at times. About a year ago LEGO launched the Rebuild the World campaign. Recently saw the LEGO Rebuild the World video on television here, and LEGO re-uploaded another copy of it to their YouTube Channel again as well to basicly put it back into attention. https://www.lego.com/en-us/aboutus/news/2019/september/rebuild-the-world/ But so far, I wonder what exactly has come out of this campaign. Now, I know Just Imagine... was another similar of such campaigns to promote creativity and that was the slogan at the time. Well, maybe that one helped me imagine minifigs having the power to fly, having no doors in some vehicles to enter it, or moving through buildings with no ladders or doors as there weren't always doors or ladders in sets. Even in 2020, City or 3-in-1 scale , sometimes has no stairs, doors, ladders for each room etc, I personally have no issue with that as I just imagine them.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I haven't been in physical stores in a long time, but the most common webshops have not sold the sets I listed, neither has Amazon, and it's been 9 months since the Safari Jeep/Mail Plane came out, so that's where I base it on. -

TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Yes, here it's LEGO exclusive still, same for Mail Plane, Police Brick Box, and the 3 Elite Police sets right now. Some LEGO focused webshops sometimes have "exclusive" sets, but often they list them at, or above LEGO.com prices Online Product sales are growing (4% growth here first half of 2020, despite the loss via travel related sales), with physical stores having less customers, and the number of Toy Shops already nearly halved from 2009-2019 here before Corona. Yes LEGO did open their first 2 official brand stores here recently at the end of 2019, but they certainly are very focused on the experience ,Build-a-Minifig, Printed minfig-factory, Pick-a-Brick, and mostly showcasing exclusive sets. I haven't visited them recently however. A LEGOLAND discovery center+store was supposed to open in May here, but that's now delayed to 2021. Now I really hope LEGO will sell more of it's Polybags online in the future as well. -
LEGO Creator 2021 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I've been quite happy with most of the €20 3-in-1 vehicle sets that came out in recent years. 31103: Rocket Truck wasn't so great however imo, overpriced at €25 here, but I can still see how kids could like it, with the big wheels. I much prefer the €10 Sports Car set instead. Anyhow, many 3-in-1 vehicles have a 2x2 spot to seat a figure, but of course if they include another Space fig , even if it's the same torso as the Rover, would be nice. -

LEGO Creator 2021 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well, the set is only listed as €5 more then 31090: Underwater Robot or 71707: Kai's Mech Jet , but I certainly hope it's possible to fit a minifigure. I do have faith, as the Underwater Robot can indeed fit a figure easily without any real mods. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 21. Rumors and discussion
TeriXeri replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think minifig animals would progress a lot more if Creator 3-in-1 started using normal dogs/cats/birds etc. Sure, the brick-built animals are somewhat charming and part of the parts needed for alternate builds, but it would put City, Creator, Xtra into a more cohesive current-day lineup. On the other hand, I can understand the animals built from parts have more moving legs and such which add to playability. Leave the 3-in-1 animal building to the polybags like the 2020 Cat and Rabbit, and the recent Dragon / Shark / Dinosaur etc. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
No way to know the direction of the theme until the next set, Gingerbread House was 12+ but Elf Clubhouse was 18+. Saturn V IDEAS was 14+, and I wonder if the re-release with the new set number has an 18+ box. -
BoBs Discussion : Fleshie or Yellow heads?
TeriXeri replied to Count Vroskri's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I think ultimately it's an opinion. Of course there could be other reasons like what sets/themes someone has collected or has interest in, of course someone with love for licensed themes likely will have more fleshie figures available. I personally prefer yellow but I also don't have any Licensed sets. Maybe that might have been different if I didn't in a no-lego period during the LotR/Hobbit sets, cause I quite liked those in hindsight. I don't like seeing Castle/Space/Pirates classic concepts on IDEAS with fleshies however. -
Should lego do Star Trek or just Star Wars
TeriXeri replied to Jimalaya's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm not sure about the current status of Mega Construx with the license, but they have made Star Trek sets in the past. But based on what they show on their site, seems they currently focus on other licenses. -
That's true, it certainly lacks consistent colors, and only has a few of each type of part , so they don't really work for building large things. Ultimately there's no real accurate value measure, but up to the buyer's goal/purposes with the parts/sets.
-
Compared to Imperial Star Destroyer™ (75252), yes, which is 8 cent a gram here.at €700 , even when it's 12.5 kilogram of LEGO. Of course it all depends what people want to build with the parts, star destroyer obviously comes with a lot of grey parts for a build, it's all relative.

By that measure Classic 1500 brick boxes of 2020 would end up at 3,5-3,8 Eurocents a gram in local retail price , and 4,33-4,65 Eurocent a piece, before discounts.
