everything fitting in comfortable so far! Bit of sterncastle work, far from finished.

the admiral has started to furnish. after finding this rouge, he needed somewhere to put him…

This looks great, and chance we could see a deconstructed view of the curves forecastle section above the large front hull peice? I’m currently working on a similar design and have hit a bit of a wall.

This is amazing! I actually wanted to try the roughs and these torsos with armada figs! Hope they are heading back to a modernised armada flagship! -
[VIDEO] GREATEST LEGO PIRATE SHIP OF ALL TIME!!

Pretty much this. I love the SES, but it feels like it suffered far too much from “this is kids toys add bright colours” syndrome. The play features hurt the overall appeal as said. If we talk about “wow” factor, it would be the imperial flagship, but anyone that owns one / built one can attest to how flimsy and poorly designed it is overall. I HATE moving mine to clean or reconfigure. I think lego got it right first try with BSB and absolutely nailed it with the remake. -
I would LOVE to see this! I think that would translate well to the style!
-
Yep. I was excited and when I saw it instantly deflated.

Almost agree with you on that. Design wise SES leaves it in the dust. But colour choice and style wise BSB wins. Castle grey, confusing green and red sections leave it looking far too messy, yet almost boring at the same time to look at, which sucks because its construction is brilliant. -
Yeah, I’m really hoping of making it, “it’s own ship” once I get past the super structure. I love the hull design of pobb and see the design almost the same way I saw the large hull pieces of the old sets. It’s sort of the “meta” in my mind.

a kitchen fit for rank and file, including small bbq pit and brick built pheasant.
-
Thank you very much! I’ll endeavour to build more for pirates and islanders soon.

Was straight up my first thought, “oh look an upside down flower”. Would love to see it with a collectable pirates minifig series, seems an appropriate part for a monkey to leave behind.
-
That’s correct! I wondered what the colour palette reminded me of! Good spot!
-
wonder no longer! Nice and simple yet slightly elegant!
-
I absolutely love this! Very classic feel, and the sand and water look immaculate!
-
You were right, looks much better updated! The doors from the admirals cabin have arrived before the walls have unfortunately.
-
I really agree with this also. A lot of them seem like varying remakes of the barracuda. I absolutely love the new ship design in the modular sense, and how “cartoonish” it looks. I can always appreciate the larger scale Mocs with full rigging and brick built hulls to look more “real” but that kinda kills a lot of what I love about my toy plastic boats 🤣

[VIDEO] GREATEST LEGO PIRATE SHIP OF ALL TIME!!

I love what the queen Anne’s revenge had the chance to be, same as the pearl but I understand that they wanted to sell units at a more affordable price point. I’m amazed we never got the Flying Dutchman but I remember leaks suggesting they had designed something for this? skulls eye schooner is a great ship but suffers from a terrible colour scheme relying on very bland and confusing colour choices. I think the biggest tragedy for me is the armada flagship, what could have been, but that generation of pirate sets are woeful at best. -

Thank you! I love the zombie pirate mini so much and it fits with ironhooks scruffy appearance. Remi the rat certainly belongs in the kitchen! And yeah that head works great with the sushi chef bald head! -
when the cursed ruby is removed… the dead… come back… to take… whats theirs… In all seriousness though, I must recommend this build to pirate fans. I was not impressed upon seeing the preview images but once I got it in person and began building it, a lot of the old style pirates charm came back. Smaller build, but with a great look and feel. If you can get your hands on this, do it; for a low price on the secondary market, it’s well and truely worth it!

This is gorgeous. The shaping is phenomenal, and the white pillars look great. What are those window inserts from?
