Technic 2018 Set Discussion
bitbamboo replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Really reasonable. Anyway I do not see the rush on doing those marvellous reviews I choose my technic sets exclusively among the hamster-proof ones and then I set up the online bargain-hunting sites, which may trigger one year later. So one month earlier or later does not make any difference to me Really willing to watch Hamster vs. Mack -

It is not only tall but very heavy as well. I'm building right now and it is totally worth it as a display piece and educational material specially now that the Moon is going to be on vogue again https://lunar.xprize.org/ You have until March to get yours! https://www.space.com/37813-google-lunar-x-prize-deadline-extended-march-2018.html A minor comment, I do not agree with the "fantastic building experience" I've read around. It is good, it is not boring, but there is some repetition durng the build as most steps are done four times. In the end this is a cylindrical hull and those 150 2x3 white half-bows have to be put in place. But when you finish a module you have the wow feeling everybody mentions. I'll rank it as a 4 out of 5 in terms of "while building". Once done is a clear 5/5 For me the Modular line is a fantastic building experience as you are making different things each time and there is color variation; I guess I am not the kind of buyer of Taj Mahal, Big Ben and the like -
Many thanks for the Nocturna's tower photos. Really informative. The new recolors in that set are great. In fact I just like the tower, the open-mouth fox does not look right to me

Technic 2018 Set Discussion

Brickset has now hi-res picks for THE Mack-awesome truck. Must have for me Impressed specially by the B model and the outstanding look of both; and if it is a Grohl's baby we can expect an equally amazing C model in his facebook before next summer. Btw, I see that new golden dog ornament in Town MOCs Ther rest of the 1H: better looking overall than 2017; nice yatch! No true techical challenges at sight, but eye pleasing models indeed -

Thanks for the heads up. I looked around and found it at RRP Just got the confirmation email from electricbricks, the closer to an official LEGO shop in Madrid It seems it is arriving to retail and I didn't hesitate in getting mine because shop.lego.com seems the most challenging site to buy it -
Thanks for sharing! These ideas creates ideas and increases the lifespan of the sets Whithout this I hadn't though of making a C-model consisting in several builds from a big Technic set; and it is silly because I've seen that many times in Creator sets Please do not hesitate posting your next C-model!

Amazing work (again) Btw, if you plan to pdf your photos, bear in mind to include page numbers in the layout. I didn't for your Crop Sprayer and I think it was a miss

It is very simple once you figure out how; it is nothing to get credit for Using Microsoft Word, set the page orientation and margins in a blank doc. You already provided the images sorted by name so just use Insert-Image and in the pop-up window select them all. It will take time but they will be added from first in the selection window to last. The high resolution makes them fill nicely one page each so there were no need for any adjustment Then save as pdf, which takes some minutes as well So the computer has been busy, but it has taken very little of my attention span. I'd say this works from Word ... 2007 onwards? I haven't tried in Libreoffice or Apache Openoffice, but I guess it will be similar

As said before: amazing C model, many many thanks for sharing and for the huge amount of images to easily replicate it. I've seen you've started another project with the same set, I'll follow that thread as well I've put together the >600 images in a huge pdf, just in case someone finds that file format more manageable or wants to print the instructions https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2cfZzLAqw4QT2g3RFFfd1pqTWc/view?usp=sharing

Non-vehicle sets & MOCs
bitbamboo replied to miguev's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great Reindeer!!!! As mentioned earlier, you could link grohl666 youtube channel ( https://www.youtube.com/user/grohl666/videos ) as there are many non-vehicles, including a new white shark and a few other C models worth a look ... would you classify as a vehicle the green Wall E from 2017's tracked vehicle (42065) ? His duck dragged me into technic again http://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-5483/grohl/42040-duck-unofficial-c-model/ -
Great C model, congrats again and thanks for sharing!! If you publish the instructions / unmount video, for C-models it is of great help a picture of what's left (the unused parts) so we can put them apart at the beginning of the build

Hi Thanks for sharing your effort, I love C models and you have chosen a great set and an interesting goal As the chasis is quite simmetric, you could swap the cabin to the other end. I'm guessing that the sprayers will be lighter than the cabin My approach comes from my belief that the "problem" is not pure weight (vertical force to the ground) but front-topping weight (diagonal force to front, looking at the model from the side). Alternativelly to the cabin swap, the BB force downwards can be transferred to the rear axle by placing it on liftarms that ONLY connects to the body near to the gears' area, leaving the BB "in the air" near the cabin. This may be a bit filmsy and provide some "topping" force during movement due to its balance Let us know your progress

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
bitbamboo replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Not into Ninjago but loving this set as well (and the olive green mecha dragon). As a Modular/Creator fan I have to humbly admit that this is the best building I've seen as an official set, beating Assembly Square by far and much more creative than Disney Castle. It could even been tagged UCS above Battle on Hoth!! For those planning to use as a modular, notice that it is not built on baseplates as all modulars but on black plates tiled with trans-blue and green. There are no black 32x32 baseplates in bricklink although blue or grey might work Floor plan seems 32 x 32 studs, which is the modular standard despite the lego product page states 31cm width x 42 depth but it is taking into account the bonsai, signs and other extensions from the baseplate. -
And Chihuahua in Trendsetter minifig / 10677 Beach Trip / Big Bang Theory / Assembly Square already mentioned, sorry

For those who have already seen the movie: please, could you sort the sets per screen time? (let's try to keep it spoiler-free, I haven't got the opportunity to watch it yet) From the teasers I guess that batwing, ballon escape and 70905 Batmobile ranks high but unsure about the others
