legobear, I guess that's why the Cinema is a little cheaper than the others (10€ in Germany, that is (though initial roumors had it another 10€ lower)) and notably cheaper than the Town Hall. While I do like more complex interiors, too, I wouldn't want all future modulars at the size and price level of the Town Hall...

CA is still the 2-letter ISO 3166-1 code for Canada - also used for top-level domains -, just as US, UK, DE, and DK are for their countries. Not everything with 2 letters is a state of the USA. :)

Thanks! Indeed, but this hype has long surpassed the simple end-of-calendar idea. And these believers haven't listened to reason on so many other accounts that an existing later calendar date won't help. After all, even when the date comes and goes - as has been seen on previous occasions for UFOs, gods, apocalypses, etc. - many believers react to such cognitive dissonances by moving even further away from reality, unfortunately.

So much nonsense – no, make that complete and utter megablocks (gotta love this word blacklist here^^) – has been said about 21 Dec 2012, or 2012 in general: Maya calendar ending, end of the world, apocalypse, asteroids, Nibiru, ancient predictions, galactic alignment, rise of consciousness, solar system synchronization, dark rifts, photon clouds, increasing resonances, stargates, aliens returning, gods returning, messages from magnetic alien archangels, lots of bad jokes, and on and on and on – and not just for fun, which wouldn't be that bad, but pretending to be real and promoting false fear and false hopes as well as books and seminars... so many good reasons for a long facepalm: 2012 Lego Facepalm by cimddwc, on Flickr Even the crazy scientist and the Aztec guy in the back agree... (That being said, there are a few good jokes, too, and already some nice MOCs showing up for this building drive :) )

Great building with a great interior indeed!

Well, he's right – sort of. He apparently just looked in the same database that provides the data for the web pages, and that says: Product Dimensions: 14.1 x 6.1 x 12.2 cm ; 9 g Boxed-product Weight: 50 Kg Well, he might have wondered about that if he'd have thought about it, but that would probably take a little more time than typical customer contact employees are willing and/or able to spend... (By the way, German Amazon tells a boxed weight of also 9 g. How do they get all those funny numbers? Just leave it empty if you don't know them for sure!)

Well, after my move into my new apartment in July, I didn't get nearly as much finished as I had intended – I still need one more railroad bridge, I'm still working on remote controlling the switches, I didn't build much more scenery than the walls... also, even though spending much time on sorting, I still got much left to sort, partially because I spent more than planned (but hey, you gotta get the bargains while they last)... So I hope I can concentrate more on building after Christmas and next year, but we'll see. After all, there's no deadline here. :)

Saw that today, too. Seems it can show up on any page on Lego's site - with the background shining through.

That's a good question I've been asking myself too, especially for 7740. So far, even though I did modernize the dining car, removing its pantograph altogether and turning the kitchen at the end into a bar/small kitchen on the side, added a (not yet finished) carriage with control cab at the end, and had to modify the engine's roof for PF battery box access, I kept the original pantograph design for nostalgic reasons, because that kinda belongs to 7740 with its "classic Lego" look. So while the idea of having realistic MOCed pantographs doesn't actually seem bad, I'm not sure they would go together that well...

Thanks for the extensive review! Actually, that hump is just as high as the high part in the middle of the locomotive just like it is on the real TGV, whose pantograph section is also lower than the surroundings (cf. this image or even better this of the postal version).

Really a great interior, and also exterior, though I think the upper floor looks a bit too low.
-
Yes, there will be a staircase next on the left, straight down to the lower tables (to a promenade rather than a beach). And next to that a (rather steep) street joining lower and upper levels between the two upper tables.

Thanks again! Yes, this curve's a bit unrealistic; but the little unmotorized tram I have can be pushed through the curve thanks to its two fully-rotatable 2 axles.

No, I don't mind – I should have linked yesterday's Wall and Street topic here myself...

Well, in my Lego world, the Harry Potter guys are just regular people, and these four were just lying around from a discounted Quidditch set...

Thanks! Yes, that will all be connected one day. See the plans I posted earlier this year here. Well, I didn't want to use more dark tan brick bricks because they'd stand out too much in my opinion, and I don't have any spare ones in grey yet. Well, maybe on the next wall sections; I got that Monster Fighters vampire castle elsewhere that I might take apart after Halloween...

Hello everyone, finally more creations of mine after I moved into my new apartment with its nice big basement room – this time it's a completed section of a snotted street and the wall between it and the lakeshore: ...wih my well-known houses in the back. Note that "officially", the walls would be solid without the big openings. But I need them so I can reach the trains that will be parked on the hidden tracks behind the wall. Without cars: Close-up with tram tracks: "Officially", the tram line is to be imagined to enter from the right, turn right into the narrow street, take a loop around the block and re-enter from the left, then exit to the right. However, since I'll try to make a motorized tram, I want it to drive just the loop around the buildings – hence this curve. I forgot to print the bike sign on the road and the parking ticket machine for the other photos, so here they are only on this one: I actually tried to make a mosaic with bricks (tiles, cheese slopes) for the bike sign, but didn't manage to build one at that size that also looks good, so here's a printed sticker only... Close-ups of wall and shore – I'm wondering if I made it a bit too old-looking... There are some statues: Freddie Mercury, an exotic queen and a mirror-like droid: Also a piper whose music isn't loved by everyone, and a strange procession: Now what are these guys doing there? That's what the reporter's asking, too, so let's listen in: "So who are you guys?" "We're the local FOOLOO cult – that's Followers Of One Long Orange Object." "I see. And why are you worshipping this... thing?" "Well, erm, it's long, it's orange..." – worshippers murmur "ooooraaaaange" – "...and it comes from the God of Separation. We worship him this way in order to ask him to separate what we want to be separated, and to keep together what we want to remain together. Do you want to join?" "Erm, no, thanks..." And a look at the entire room: On Flickr, there are more photos, including the backside of the wall, the underside of the road, and from setting up the tables. Comments, suggestions, ...? :)

Then your catalog is different from mine in Germany which still includes the FB...

That's indeed an amazing build, not just because of the curved platform. The train looks a bit small in comparison, though – but maybe that's just because typical Lego stations are smaller. :)
-
Maybe WhatTheFont doesn't like the color - I edited the "Alien Commander" image a bit, and then WTF found Knuckle Sandwich Italic. Though I think many of the theme logos themselves may be edited versions of regular fonts, or indeed completely custom.

...which were probably there because of set 376 from 1978: Which was an odd color combination even in those days. :)

Thanks for the info, Klaus-Dieter! So (at least) 3 new police sets - without a new police station - in addition to a major fire release... seems the forest spin-offs this year were kinda thrown in between the typical release cycles, and apparently the kids like all that, so they needed a few police sets in 2013, too... Well, fine by me if the museum set is really that nice. konkurrieren = compete. :)
