Samer replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
If you'd like to check: Yesterday I was looking at a good priced 8285 on Bricklink, the seller wrote in the description its silver version. -

Very nice. I recall once I saw someone balanced a motorcycle with EV3 gyro, but of course bulky and not a detailed model. -

I notice in the reviews page most sets say "review needed". Is that current or out of date? -

No dirt everything is fine, but few hoses come from very old set, I'll check if I isolate them. After isolating the old set hoses (from set 8462@1998), the problem seems gone, thanks for the hint. Yes, I saw that too late, sorry. If the conversation is moveable there, please do. -

Please tell me if this is the wrong place to ask: When I connect the pneumatic pump (rotates using a motor) to a switch and a valve, after few rotations one hose blows! What should I do to absorb the potential extra pressure of the pump when air has no way to escape? I know from 42008 that this should not happen but couldn't figure out how. -

Well, to appreciate a little fraction in extra speed, ask Bolt -

compact, fast, powerful, clean. I like it and want to build it. (I gave it a like on Youtube) -
Leave alone the force accuracy discussion, this creation is genuine idea and involves advanced mechanisms presented handsomely and in reasonable space. Big thumb up

Generic Contest Discussion

Hi everybody I love this topic. I wanted to get into the crane contest to try to build something good but time didn't serve me well. To the topic: Did anybody before suggest model-C contest. Taking one of the most interesting sets each half year and make your model only from this set of parts. This has disadvantage for people who didn't buy it, but also has some good advantages: fairness, challenge, one interesting thing: how will u proof you were strict to the rule? So you'll have to create instructions :-D -
My view of UCS = a gigantic load of plates arranged to form a weird object, and no idea why are they made or why they are interesting. But like someone pointed, if a set proves makes money, it is produced. I heard that a very weird sort of LEGO saved it from bankruptcy in early 2000s. So I'd say LEGO learned the hard way to follow the trend. Nowadays weirdness prospers. Look at most PlayStation games for instance. Of course these are just my views, not anything more.

I didn't see this degree of strictness in other themes. I know we cannot post confidential images but just asking for links isn't harmful. Anyway I won't ask :-) I hope they are as much nice as much confidential :-)

16: 10 12: 6 1: 4 5: 3 9: 2 4: 1 In general I'm not a fan of gigantic builds despite I appreciate the big efforts put in them . I like creative functions within limited size. I wish I could add more points to some of the builds voted had that been possible.
