  1. I'm guessing you're waiting for it to be on clearance? I know I am... not sure how soon will my local TRU will put it on discount. I have all the minifigs from this wave, except the Evil Green Ninja... and I won't bother completing all the varieties of ghosts since I already have important ones.
  2. I don't know which part of Asia TLG is talking about because between 2013 to 2014 all I see for clearance are Chima. I guess it is perception that I get and collectively from my peers in LUGs that once a theme goes for clearance for 50% - 70% off and yet it stays on the shelves for more than a year then it means it didn't capture the expected market and therefore perceived as a failure. Btw, I am based in Asia so either TLG sold a lot of those Chima sets to warehouses or distributors but the store stocks are not able to move them. Reporting wise TLG can say we sold a gazillion units but it didn't mean the stores actually profited from that if they can't sell them.Anyway, I'm not wishing for Nexo Knights to fail.... I just thought that TLG is trying too hard to make a new Ninjago breakthrough and the sales growth may not be organic.... it could be just because it's a new theme and people are excited about it. Whether it is sustainable or not, we can revisit the discussion in 2017. Cheers! :)
  3. As someone who collected the first 5 original Friends minidolls in their first outfit, I don't have any strong opinion against minidolls. While I understand people complaining about the lack of function, I think form takes precedence here when TLG decided to make the minidolls more human-like first. So what if it has not much articulation? Have you seen the grandfather of all the minifigs? It's laughable now but if we lookback in the LEGO history the minifigs had transformed over several iterations and until today, minifigs are still getting better. TLG is dedicated to make minifigs better -- dual moulded plastic, more advanced printing, better graphic design, and so on and so forth.... Minidolls have been around for only 4 years so who knows if in the future more articulations will be introduced?
  4. I have high hopes for Voltron. That's because the rights owner had already expressed interest in that project.
  5. Yes, I think by far this series has the most dual moulding for normal series...if my count is correct 7 of them have dual mouldings for legs while 2.5 of them have dual mouldings for arms (the .5 is for Rogue since only the left arm is dual moulded)
  6. I'm getting disturbed by that black moustache which appears to be more like a black bar being bitten and sticking out of his mouth. It is creepy like the others. I'm not a fan of this years seasonal models at all...
  7. I like the overall smoothness and that studded wedges at the front... reminding me that it is LEGO. Good job with the vignette as well!
  8. So the Shoretrooper is exclusive in 75154, right? But why only 1? Is that an indication that the Hovertank pilots will have more significance to the plot/story since we'll get 2 of them from 75152?
  9. I agree with you but what I am alluding is that they do not pay for a press release to highlight what's not good. To reinforce my point, while kids won't read interim results, the vast majority of buyers are parents who are likely hanging around in social media and any website for that matter. Information gets circulated around much quicker and instantly when they read that Nexo Knights theme is doing good subliminally it will remind those parents to check it out if they haven't bought one yet. Otherwise if news and blogs keep on saying that Nexo Knights aren't selling well -- then it might just be another Chima. I think that's the reason why Chima didn't take off as well. A lot of negative press around that theme and didn't inspire or amaze both kids and AFOLs alike. So what better ways to sell more Nexo Knights than to paint that good picture, eh? I'm trying to be as objective as possible but man... I am getting tired that Nexo Knights are getting so much love here in my region that the last 6 months there are so many promotions around that theme that it got stale so fast in my opinion. I haven't bought any of the big sets of Nexo Knights and I am thinking if I should cross that off my list entirely.
  10. I got excited to do an infantry / combat medic moc using what I have scrapped from Nexo Knights... and then I realised I misread it as chiropractor.
  11. Having worked with some PR people before I can understand where you're coming from. If I interpret it myself it would read like this: "City, Ninjago and Star Wars are our biggest sellers so far, but our new theme Nexo Knights also performed well. Of course we won't tell you how good or bad it performs overall but we want to paint a picture that it is doing well so that people will keep on buying and that the next wave won't flop."
  12. It fits but it is prevented by the shoulder pads to fit completely by at least half a millimeter.
  13. I agree what most people had mentioned. UCS Slave 1 and UCS MF is very close. I will debunk this claim simply because you can also recreate the same photo with UCS Millennium Falcon. The picture reference is merely a manipulation of depth of field, distance and perceived scale brought by optical illusion.
  14. I just bought the Advent Calendar the other day and got a free Rebel A-Wing Pilot polybag :)
  15. Han on Cloud City looks awesome. Can't wait for Han with new hair to appear in smaller sets. They can't make this hair piece exclusive for too long.
  16. @legozebra I totally forgot those screenshots... But it's a bit blurry so I can't really recognise the details until I compare them with the new images. Now I think it's legit. :)
  17. Wow. Just saw this topic just now. I am ready to do this mod the moment I open my X-Wing. :)
  18. The buildable figure has, right? I'd say the minifigure should have it as well.if ever... I hope it does not come in plastic as I prefer the clothe pauldron.
  19. Those suits look awesome but until I see them in picture of the actual minifigs, I'll take them as "online content" bonus only unless someone can verify if those armours/costumes are indeed meant for the next wave?
  20. Thanks for those who liked my Mariachi band. I also hope LTG makes more instruments... like those that can be found in full orchestra. I'm still waiting for the box of 60 that I ordered and I am trying to control buying more because I already have a dozen Rogues awaiting for army building.
  21. Here is my small Mariachi band. I am happy with the results and right now I still have 2 spares.. I think a quartet looks fine. I don't have the bugle now and I didn't even know it exists until today. In the meantime I got a trumpet accessory that fits this purpose. Once I get a bugle I'll replace it. :) Mariachi Band
  22. I have 5... opened 3 and built a 3-piece band with guitar, double bass and a violin. Last 2 instruments are brick-built. Will take pictures and share later.
  23. I cringed when they fitted the Karate Master torso with the Spaceman legs assembly... ... O_o
  24. Oh... Now I understand. If you ever got to Thailand and the Philippines that is almost always the case and not just for Star Wars. I don't get why those stores, and by a large extent the distributors, jack up the price specially the smaller sets.
  25. I don't get the analogy here... I do know that the Snowspeeder last year is a shelf warmer but with respect to the new Hovertank I think it will do better as the tank design is more familiar and you get more varied minifigs included in the set.
