  1. Merlock 1.0 isn't that bad... can totally fit something related to medieval village or castle... but I kinda like Merlock 2.0 in all gold.
  2. And how about the child imp? Is TLG advocating children to be demonic now?Sorry... Playing devil's advocate here... But perphaps I just don't see the point here.
  3. I love the new penguin and dog. And the Guitar... all I see are parts and accessories.
  4. Last time it was discussed as an actual chinese character or japanese kanji but when translated it didn't make sense. When someone looked up this particular font it actually didn't have any meaning just random letters assigned to each ninja. It wasn't very deep or profound... Just clever use of pseudo-chinese symbols.
  5. I really don't mind a new MF UCS. It's probably the best move to do to redeem the UCS line.
  6. The Vacation Getaways RV is really an outstanding design. I have a backlog of creator sets to pick up but I may put this on my high priority to brick this year.
  7. Be careful what you wish for... it's getting harder every year to acquire a complete set of CMFs in my local toyshop and you want even more? Unless you buy in boxes of 60, that won't be a problem.
  8. I agree. It's not foolproof and I read the same argument used in the Technic forums when 42056 Porsche 911 GTS RS was announced. But here is my argument -- we do not know how TLG recover the cost added by investing in new moulds, recolour and even adding new prints. I do not believe they do the recovery per set because it makes more business sense if they do the recovery of the cost onto the whole line to even out the pricing. For example, when TLG decided to create new moulds for Nexo Knights, they did not jack up the price of the smaller sets simply because they have new parts in them. It is still fairly cheap. Same here with Ninjago. In fact, I suspect that the cost of new moulds are evenly distributed in the whole line. Even City has fair amount of new parts and unique prints lately and people are starting to see the price hike across the line. So all I am saying is that almost all themes have new colour, prints and moulds to deal with, across the entire theme, so it even outs the comparison. The only theme I can think of that enjoys the benefit of classic parts and consequently without the "new mould tax" is Creator that's why no other theme beat its net weight to price ratio. *PS. Thanks for compliments on my sig
  9. 5) Do something like X-men Days of Future Past and reset the whole timeline.
  10. I'm late to the party but let me share my reactions. The Airjitzu Battle Grounds is not what I expected but it is my fault for thinking that it would be complementing Temple of Airjitzu. In fact, the anomaly here is the ToA because it's the only 'Airjitzu' product without the Airjitzu flyer and when people thought of the Airjitzu Battle Grounds they immediately associate it with ToA, not the flyers. It's one of the most playable set in the up coming wave and whether it should command that price tag, I agree with Aanchir... the flyers tend to be expensive... but is it really that expensive? I personally think that price per piece ratio is flawed and I think that net weight per price ratio is something more useful. In fact if I look at some Ninjago sets released in the past, the most offending ones comes in polybags and blister packs. The Airjitzu flyers are just somewhere in the middle. name of the set - grams per Euro Ninja Glider (polybag) - 5.19 Ninja Army Building Set (blister pack) - 5.39 The Cowler Dragon (polybag) - 6.01 NRG Jay spinner (blister pack) - 10.51 Cole's Dragon - 10.81 Hover Hunter - 11.21 Kai Flyer - 12.51 The Golden Dragon - 14.10 Master Wu Dragon - 14.14 Temple of Airjitzu - 14.76 Temple of Light - 15.62 Ultra Sonic Raider - 15.65 Final Flight of Destiny's Bounty - 16.79 Spinjitzu Dojo - 16.13 City of Stiix - 18.38 So... until I get to see how heavy the Airjitzu Battle Grounds is, I will reserve my judgement if it is expensive or not.
  11. I really hope we get at least 2 classic stormtroopers in a battle packs! TLG please please please!!
  12. Sometimes I immediately find the lamp and double confirm by finding the small feather accessory to know that it's genie. Also, it is not hard to double confirm if it has 2 feet to know it's Aladdin.

  14. Thanks. I agree... But what is the likelihood of 75098 being on clearance? I don't see it happening here in my region. Maybe in the US it will be on sale and will drive the price down. But will also drive the price of these minifigs down? I don't have historical data of loose/parted out UCS sets to make any conclusion or educated guess.
  15. Not sure if this the right topic to ask this question but it is on topic, LEGO and Star Wars. I need some buying advice. A local shop here quoted me around 80 usd for 4 minifigs from 75098 Assault on Hoth. The minifigs are: R3-A2, K-3PO, Wedge and Wes. Is this too much? Not interested to pick up 75098 as a set... Since I have very little interest on Hoth diorama.
  16. I agree with you. I like the Volcano Lair, too. Very inspirational design and it can be repurposed to be bad guys hideout or HQ. It is also a great parts pack for MOCing. As for the price of SW... I don't like how the Star Wars theme is becoming like a luxury product with top tier pricing. That's why I focused my attention on non-licensed sets these year.
  17. I was looking forward to these when it came out because I wanted to get a flesh minifig head with goatee... When I saw the pictures it seems all of them have stubble beard and moustache... My excitement died down.
  18. Ahsoka is looking great. Chopper is nice to get, too! Ezra on the otherhand...
  19. Cool mascot minifig... still not digging the 'banana' print.

  21. I use Mac. I also use Windows. Also Linux... but mostly Mac. So, my opinion is not biased towards against any OS as I mainly use what works for me. Having said that, I can recommend you Lightroom because its workflow can be customised whether you are used to folder-based or catalogue-based management of pictures. What I also like about Lightroom is that if you fully utilise its catalog features you can easily migrate your raw files from one computer to another without losing the meta data you applied in each photos (including the processing you have already done in them). I have practically 2 back-up system. I have my local drive, then I would a separate drive and also cloud back-up. That way I will not worry about losing any pictures in case catastrophic failure happen in my system. Also, try looking for a workflow that suits you to quickly capture all pictures and apply a style to your pictures so that you don't have to edit and manage them. I shoot RAW and I also don't have time to fiddle in every image. Nowadays people wants immediate output in Instagram so it would be best to capture your pictures right the first time and do minimal editing. Then at the time of post processing you just to apply your signature style and toning which is just a click of a button away to all images. Hope this helps.
  22. Blue astromech droid. Ohhhh man. Looking forward to that. We need more blue coloured droids! Wish they can make an effort to correct the skin colour. Come on TLG... you did it for Kanan.
  23. We know that Duplo, City, Friends, Ninjago and Star Wars are the top 5 best sellers last year (but not necessarily in that order in the list). I don't know about Nexo Knights. Perhaps because TLG is spending so much on marketing for this Big Bang that's why it needs to be up in that list. I'm thinking it could the 80/20 rule... where they need to focus only on the top 20% of their themes to get 80% of the profit needed for this year.
