The fact that it’s an AT-AP and Droid Gunship. They’re not really that cool/interesting. That being said maybe they’re very well executed builds, and if not then later waves will have better vehicles. -

Like an ARC-170 or V-19. Wonder where the latter went ): -

There is definitely no chance. The old RC system is long dead. -
You’d need to add two more motors to steer and drive the wheels, as well as a separate battery box so that it doesn’t tangle up in the turntable, but sure I don’t see why not :)

I’m in Melbourne. I don’t really wanna go to Kmart, since Big-W is actually the cheapest here. I don’t think starfighters are worth more than $100 so really it’s either from Big-W or nowhere. -

Interestingly the X-Wing isn’t available on Big W Australia to order online ): Anyone know what’s up with that? It’s sooo cheap but apparently the whole country is out of stock. -
The levers have axle holes not pin holes, so you’d end up engaging multiple functions at once, with no choice over the direction over one. You’d have better luck looking for an alternative to the levers. If you successfully do that then sure I don’t see why it shouldn’t work. Only thing is that you’ll have more friction in the system so the functions will run slower and the clutch gear may be more likely to slip.

Looks interesting, but your rollers are all on the same axle so they’re gonna rotate at the same speed, unless you’ve drilled out the axles into pinholes.

Technic 2019 Set Discussion

I dunno if I’d consider the possibility of an F1 or an open wheel racer. If it was I really feel like they’d go with a name like “Formula Racer” or “Grand Prix Racer” (42000 was actually called that!), not “GT Supercar”. There’s quite a distinct difference there. If it was an F1 racer they’d want to market it as close to an F1 racer as possible. Also sorry but why on Earth would you throw out perfectly good PF elements? It’s not like they’ve suddenly stopped working. You’re still free to build with them. -
Basically the way that the LA work in the original set is that they both angle upwards as the boom lifts. Since they’re set up opposite ways in the set, one LA screw will slightly extend as the boom rises whereas the other LA screw will slightly contract. This causes most of the load to be placed on a single LA rather than both. What @efferman has done is make both of the screws rotate in the same way, so that when the boom rises, both LA will change length the same amount, and the load of the boom will be evenly distributed across both of them. I’m amazed that the set designer didn’t see this.

Just basic maths people. Double it, you get 8 times the volume (2^3). Quadruple it, you get 64 times the volume (4^3).

Why no snow groomers?
Bartybum replied to Gingerdave's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think a snowgroomer is one of those vehicles that needs some extra wow factor like RC and/or pneumatics to be a popular set. On its own it just isn’t an unusual enough vehicle to make amazing sales. The BWE managed to pull it off partly because it was a vehicle that came so hard out of left field that it caught much attention. I would gladly welcome an RC Snowgroomer (given it came with other functions like a small crane or something. -

@JarJarBonks None of the websites have the Hoth med chamber or the Imperial landing craft. They’ll probably come out later. Also, Clone Wars > OT. Save up for CW sets -

My fellow Aussie pals. Go to Big W and pick up the X-Wing. It’s $95AUD now and I don’t know how much longer that’ll last. Also the TIE Fighter is like $63. -
Can you use hard springs to help lift the boom so that it can start from a horizontal position?
