Technic 2019 Set Discussion

That’s what I thought, but I think only one axle is connected with gears, since in the video it seems that one motor sits closer to the rear axle than the other. -

Oh man those Porsche headlights lol. Not too much a fan of 42096’s massively long front, as well as the wheels looking too small on those fenders. Like with 42056, the rear headlights are barely noticeable and not really shapely enough. Other than that it’s pretty cool. Really liking how 42095 looks. Curious to see how they fit two L motors in such a narrow frame. -
I think it's very cute It's really sad that we haven't had a set with the ball pivots for over three years already, they're really useful

Probably not gonna happen since either: A. It’s not safe enough for the allegedly idiot kids nowadays (total bull shit), or B. It’ll put too much stress on parts -

Strange choice to give the buckethead guards the new legs but not the sun visor guards. -
Yeah they would, otherwise if both were extended then the axle wouldn’t be able to pivot.

@Void_S agreed with the yellow. Orange just isn’t an iconic Corvette colour -

The sets look pretty good, better than the 2018 1H lineup at least imo. I’m liking the new large sprockets on the tracked racer. Also really liking the shape of the tracked loader. It looks like it’s fairly fleshed out, if unconventionally shaped. Not too sure about the MLA under the arm though, I think an LA would look nicer. The Corvette ZR1 is pretty on par with what I expected to be honest; it’s annoyingly hard to replicate a curved body properly with Technic at this small scale, so I’d be really surprised if they actually managed to make something that looked more accurate. All that said and done, something pops out: new wheel arches! -

So those graduation capped Praetorian Guards do look like they have skirts instead of legs when looking at the new leaks, whereas the buckethead ones have legs. -
@JJ Tong (zfogshooterz) I’m working off the assumption that Creator and Creator Expert are more or less the same theme, so the fishing store would fit somewhere between the two. If it came out in Creator Expert I probably wouldn’t bat an eye, since it’s just a detailed building.

A comment on the view that Lego needs to choose a shade of blue - they’ve been using dark azure pretty consistently the past two years -

Can I ask what you were hoping for? Actually now that it occurs to me, I really wish the main rotor would be connected to the turbines like in a real heli. -

It’s just cool factor, don’t think in to it too much. Also, getting real LMP vibes off that blue pullback, won’t buy but I dig it -

Welp it's not a leak so I guess it's not our problem since it's the actual product. All said and done, damn that's a pretty nice heli, maybe with exception to the rear of the cabin - can anyone figure out what the rear panels open up to reveal? The B-model is pretty on par with what I'd expect from a small/medium B-model. I like the use of the rotor blades as wings, along with the swingwings. I'm in support of more concept A-models. I think it potentially allows for more creative freedom and even functions. Just waiting for a concept excavator like the Volvo Sfinx -

@Sariel I’m genuinely astounded that the Exosuit was a flop. That set was all over the Lego Subreddit when it came out.

Yeesh why the italics, we’re talking about toys here not fine dining. 8043-B doesn’t have doors, nor does it have a realistic looking engine grille, yet you’re not lambasting it for those slip ups. So authentic I’d even go as far as to say that the length and bulk of the front arm make it look unrealistic and goofy, but I won’t, because it’s just not that important. Again, you’re being way overly pedantic. It’s a toy - it’s allowed to slightly vary from the norm in the name of creative freedom. If you don’t like how it looks, that’s fine, but I think it’s unfair to hammer on about authenticity in a model that’s clearly been designed to suit a modern and even slightly futuristic era. I’m sure they very well know the triangular tracks don’t show up on larger tracked loaders, but they’ve decided to include them because they arguably make the model more futuristic. -

And yet the first thing I thought when I saw the leak was that it looks like a modern-day vehicle. You're just being pedantic about a triangle. There's a level of creative freedom that can be allowed in a Lego set design, especially one that doesn't compromise anything -

May I ask why that matters in any way? -
Good lord you’re tooting your own horn a bit there champ, you’ve made your point clear already. If that 42070’s in your picture is anything to go by then you’re in no position to throw “half-baked” around. @Sariel I think Technic is an ugly duckling, because the average size and volume of the pieces makes it harder to build something more accurate that people would buy, whereas with System Lego it tends to be easier to make something shapely and smooth. I’d argue that it’s fairly safe to say the general public prefers form over function. If yours was built with system then I dare say it would be easier to gain support. On the topic of the Doctor Who set, I’m pretty sure that only won because of how potent the fanbase is, as well as it being mostly located on the internet, so news of a Lego set would spread quickly. The same probably can’t be said for Jeep owners, who are on average likely older and less internet-focused, not to mention less rabid.

What? That tracked loader looked pretty standard to me? To other peeps, we’ve only seen one fairly blurry photo of it, so we don’t know anything about the details of it or build quality, save for the fact that the loading arm is more of a claw iirc. So it’s a bit brash to come to any conclusions about the standard of the set based off the one photo. Relax my peeps. And remember what Jim stickied to the top, use your brains -
@JJ Tong (zfogshooterz) The Saturn V and fishing store pretty much fit smack bang in Creator. That being said I agree with you and Erik.
