  1. Nom; If Lego did a "Star Wars - Retro" line of sets (with a correspondingly lower parts count) ; I`d be buying them if they looked as good as yours and they would probably be much more affordable than some of the over-priced sets we are currently getting...keep up the good work!
  2. Sometimes "less is definitely more!"...really very clever and neat build!!
  3. I had to comment again; this build is so good that it evokes actual memories of the battle-scenes from the film, it`s every bit as good in modelling terms as any detailed railway layout or hand-built doll`s house, cos when you look at it ,in your mind you see the real thing!!
  4. March as a release date sounds right;the latest U.K.Argos book lists the new "Batman vs Superman" sets as being available from March 16`, so it makes sense to release this classic set at the same time
  5. This is way beyond good!!,I love it!!
  6. Immo, I agree that the Carbon Freezing/Droids Escape sets should be viewed as play-sets, but Lego couldn`t be bothered to even print the cockpit canopy framing on the Rebel Transport ,yet the "Star Wars Rebels" little Phantom Shuttle (also a low priced set) did come with a printed canopy!?.......................you can probably tell that I hate stickers,........even to the point that I`d pay a bit more to get printed parts. Meanwhile getting back onto subject (Jayoheazy`s really nice build!).....here is a review ,which shows this set in great detail; http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=120042 and gives an insight into it`s value for money. Regards Kenny
  7. I`ll get it ,but only for the figures
  8. This is very nicely done; I think this is a great build! ,more accurate to the film and more like what we should have got from Lego ,for the price they asked. Also this got me to thinking; whilst I think that the Lego/Disney licensing set-up is great(in that we are getting all these subjects from the Star Wars Universe);- sometimes the actual value isn`t so great ;for instance 2 recent sets ;the Rebel Transport and Droid Escape ;are very heavily reliant on stickers with little in the way of printed parts (more profit for in doing it this way,I suppose?). Also the recent carbon freezing set is not that great either, even if you do get some cool mini figures
  9. Totally agree with Geekmeister, also agree that a set with the old Bat copter would look good alongside the recent Bat copter Man-bat set!!
  10. Far ,Far too expensive for what it is, I (like some others) would prefer to see at least the vehicles released as smaller sets in their own right. If the high cost is due to licensing ,then that is sad.Lego have already been slated for some of the pricing of their Disney licensed Star Wars sets,I would hate to think that every license will end up generating over-priced products, which would hurt both the licensee and Lego themselves. Also we are now seeing Lego taking the cheap (profit maximising) option with way too many stickers ,rather than printed componants, (for instance,-the latest Disney Star Wars releases such as the Resistance transport and the Droid Escape sets are awash with stickers ,rather than printed parts)...nostalgia definitely will sell this set to large amount of people, cos it looks so great, but even though I`m, old enough to have seen the original TV broadcasts in the 60`s ,I just couldn't`t justify spending what Lego want for this set.
  11. Really neat, but I can`t wait to mix`n`match it with the Battlefront Imperial set (which has jump troopers!),when that gets into the shops...........first order jump troopers will look ultra cool!
  12. the rounded piece on the rear end looks like Lego took cues from the escape pod design/set coming with R2-D2 ,Threepio and the Jawa`s.
  13. Here it is ,with foils closed,- the gap`s not too noticeable IMG_0090 by kenny burns, on Flickr
  14. New Microfighter Resistance X-Wing IMG_0078 by kenny burns, on Flickr...
  15. Vectormatic ;-Our local ASDA has the Snow=speeder and the X-Wing along with a couple of the 2016 Battle packs. But I`m looking forward to the Ghost and also the TIE Advanced!(,which seem to be the next microfighter pairing for release)
  16. Amazing........................I love this diorama!!
  17. I watched the video comparison and I like the newer version.
  18. The new Resistance X Wing is out ,so I took a couple of pics of it with it`s ancestor (on Planet Creda!). I don`t know if it is better than the series 1 version ,but like the original ,it is a very cute model and really only lacks an astro mech. I repositioned the grill piece behind the pilot and put a white stud on a jumper plate in it`s place for one of the fotos,so as to mimic a BB8 droid, but in hind-sight it doesn't look that great. For me , the pilot figure is probably the main reason for getting this set.....he is amazing and he has the clear visor as part of the helmet which also has some epic printing on it! 19. moustache man looks like an old RAF 1940`s fighter pilot, I hadn`t noticed how cool he was!
  20. Got these Sith vs Old Republic Troopers packs from WH Smith plus the Bricklink book (which was only £5.00, cos some thieving oik had burst open the inside packaging in a failed attempt to steal the bricks ) IMG_0076 by kenny burns, on Flickr
  21. Hmmm, sorry but the figs looks pretty dull and dreary to me. But I might get it for the speeder ,which could be expanded on.
