  1. Stunning!..I was hoping that Lego would maybe do a "Vader" TIE now that he is looking to be a regular character in season 2 of Star Wars Rebels, but I can`t see Lego doing anything that could match what you have done! Regards Kenny.
  2. Got this TIE for my birthday (and also 75015;the Corporate Alliance Tank Droid )
  3. This is a really great build(all your TIE`s are special), I added cannons by opening up the missile "launchers" on my First Order TIE:-so a small black Technics piece could be pressed in (Lego is tough stuff.)
  4. not eating (as much) would be a definite plus for me!!
  5. Thanks Kris, you should have been a diplomat!
  6. Thanks Kris , but I have already contacted the moderator about the "tone" of the replies ,but that said I do understand that you "get" my modelling back-ground and I appreciate your replies. From now on I won`t be posting anything that isn`t 100% Lego. A base will be built for the First Order TIE I got a couple of days ago for my birthday from my wife and great grandson. It will be 100% Lego ,but I still reserve the right to get the paint out!
  7. These are from a box of mixed Lego and non-Lego bits my great grandson has had lying about, so I adapted/painted what I found and built a base for my Lego TIE.I thought this forum was about fun and creativity, not snobbery, not everybody can afford to buy genuine parts on a whim..........
  8. The grey is amazing, the proportions are spot on; it does look like a movie miniature! regards Kenny
  9. Mr Man , the TIE advanced appears in the Rebels episode "Empire Day" w/wings folded out in flight mode on two hover pads, but in another episode(can`t remember which!), a TIE advanced is definitely parked up with wings folded under for the inquisitor to use .In "Flames across the Galaxy", it is sitting in a hanger wings out in full flight mode, also in this episode , Darth Vader (voice by James Earl Jones!) appears just after Ezra and Kaden escape in the now dead inquisitor`s TIE. Regards Kenny. p.s I`m still doing things as though I was building scale models, but this forum is showing me the LEGO way! p.p.s. the radar parts all have a couple of coats of paint, so the studs are now a few microns thicker.so they are a good tight fit.
  10. Ah!, but in the last series one episode of "Rebels"; the Improved TIE is seen sitting in a hanger bay with wings fully folded out, as for sand-paper, I use it out of habit cos if you use a couple of decent layers of paint on the finer grain stuff ,that takes away much of the scratchiness and it still makes an ideal scale "tarmac" base for displaying diecast 1:43 scale cars (another addiction of mine). At the end of the day, it`s what I use , but you could use cardboard instead and spray it black or dark grey .
  11. to avoid scratches, I put a very thin sliver of electrical tape at the bottom of each of the TIE`s wings/foils.You could also use the left-over bits of the sticker sheet that came with the TIE (but that stuff is really, really sticky!)The sand-paper gives a bit of grip, so the wings don`t fold up on themselves
  12. Thanks , the "tarmac" is a scrap piece of sand-paper ( sprayed matt black) that sort of fitted the lid!.
  13. Very, very funny and also extremely clever!
  14. I got this neat t-16 Skyhopper ,the price of it makes it a real bargain and the tuskan raider is a great little figure!
  15. but I found some cheap tins of paint and a chocolate box lid.
  16. These Lego posters look fantastic and are now on my "wants" list, but as a teenager I was at a charity premier of "a New Hope" in Edinburgh,at the Odeon Cinema ;-collecting for The Variety Club of Great Britain, Sunshine Coaches charity and I managed to score an original lobby poster for nothing.I sold it a couple of years later for £10 or £12 (which was a small fortune to a teenager in 1977!)...............it hurts to think what it would be worth now (especially in Lego sets!)....................I suppose if you are going to screw up ,you may as well screw up big time.
  17. Thanks for the link Nom!
  18. Great stuff, there aren`t many cooler ships than the TIE interceptor
  19. Just built this neat little kit ,it`s only faults are it`s small size (scaled to "dock" with "The Ghost" ) and the rear cannon being replaced by one of Lego`s bolt shooters (so I made up one from my limited parts bin)....................but the star of this set is the little Chopper astro-mech.It would be cool if Lego could make one big enough to accommodate a couple of mini-figs, but that might never happen (although they did the Jar Jar Binks/Droid Tank thingie in different sizes )
  20. Cheers Armstrong!!
  21. Strange you should say that Rollermonkey, cos (unbeknown to my better half ), 3 more vehicle sets have magically appeared in my cupboard. Lego is becoming an expensive hobby
  22. Thanks Joebiwan and Junior; to be honest I was happy that it was pose-able and wouldn`topple over
  23. I posted an earlier thread about this , which looking back was a bit lame; so I gathered up more parts and had another stab at this and it came out not looking too bad (but I still have a lot to learn!)
  24. this is stunning work, I can`t say enough good things about this!
