  1. Amazing tutorial and beautiful tree! Thank you for doing such a great job with the photos for each little step, it really makes the tutorial easy to follow and understand.
  2. Please don't post in a two year old thread with something like this. It probably isn't even going to be seen by the initial poster. Aditionally, these threads are for teachers to help on assignments not general comments from random folks.
  3. It technically belongs in Brick Flicks & Comics.
  4. What is your experience with making stop motion films with LEGO elements and figures?
  5. Please, let's keep this thread for the Bootleg discussion and keep custom minifigure discussion in the proper forum Minifig Customisation Workshop Please don't quote images, it creates clutter on the thread.
  6. Looks great, so lively! This is part of a collaborative Sea Rats build, Rconn0 did join a while back in the faction thread.
  7. Well that's not from any news, that's from what I saw locally in the store on Sunday. The previous wave are still the old price $ 4.99 and the previous-previous wave are still $3.98 clearance. The new wave though was $5.99 which is much too much for those little things.
  8. These all look like random figures a kid can build out of the BaM stations. Week 2 have a few good parts but not really worth spending tons of money at TRU.
  9. Actually, I think Mixel prices have also increased by another $ this wave. It's priced me out of buying those tiny sets for sure, I probably can't quit CMF at this point, but I'll be sure to watch for discounts instead of buying a case right away.
  10. I love that mushroom patch. The building is great, it looks like it would all fit in really well with the sets.
  11. Excellent work, it's perfect. This would look great in a modular city setup.
  12. Any user can make a review on any set, including CMF
  13. Never repost. Please update your post though so that it actually makes sense. Topic titles should not be considered part of the post itself, aka don't leave the details out of the post.
  14. That's not possible for a normal customer. Full boxes are usually purchased on Bricklink or at a local store like Toys R Us or Target.
  15. This is for Forum help not MOC help. We'll have to get you moved over to the proper forum. Are you wanting help building the cars with LEGO bricks or LEGO Technic?
  16. In the past, it's been a set of 3 minifigures and a Brand Store model. Many times the minifigures and packaging are unique to the store.
  17. When I first started, I had very little bricks - only what was left from my previous use 25 years ago. I wanted to build up a collection of parts quickly so that I could try some MOCing, so I bought some large eBay unsorted lots (fast). I'd also watch Craigslist and buy up larger collections of parts/sets (slow). I think that's a decent way to start if you want to build up a large selection quickly. Once you start buying a lot of sets, it makes sense to break them down so that you can use those parts. You can always rebuild the set later, quickly if you keep your parts well sorted. PAB I use now, but when I started out there was no LEGO Brand Store within a few hundred miles. Bricklink and Bricks & Pieces I usually use for specific project parts, not for bulking up my collection.
  18. I really like your trains and station! The horse train car made me laugh a bit too much, I want one It might not be feasible, but I think the station building could be slightly improved by giving it plank flooring (tiles). To me, studs up floors indicate carpeting, but maybe that's the look you were going for - one of the modernization upgrades they implemented.
  19. I was only able to take a few minutes, but couldn't find any details on how manual you can go with that camera. It seems like it is mostly auto-focus which will cause you problems, as well as the large Maximum Aperture of ƒ/5.9 (that means when you are taking close up shots you won't be able to get much in focus). You'll want to try and find some detailed reviews on a photo website (not amazon reviews) and get more details if you want to be safe with your money. You don't need a lot of zoom for lego. You need to be able to focus close up (minimum focus distance), control focus point, and change aperture and shutter speed. One last suggestion is go to a store like Best Buy and try out the cameras there, take some lego and do some tests. Bring your own memory card (most use SD or CF cards), then when you find one you like you can look on Amazon and get it.
  20. Brick Flicks & Comics is the appropriate forum for these sorts of questions related to making comics. If you are hoping for a specific camera model/name/etc, there are plenty of options out there and they are constantly changing. It's not really helpful to have a post saying "go get this camera" because the next time somebody reads the post the info will be outdated. There is an examination of different types of cameras http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=73917 and you'd need to figure out what you can afford and source the camera. General advice is to buy something with full manual control: aperture, shutter, focus, ISO, and color balance. This means a beginner dSLR at the minimum as most pocket cameras with these controls actually would cost more. For your $300 budget you might have to look into a used camera, a "last year's model".
  21. Welcome to EB. Your project sounds cool, a Retro gamer room would be fun for sure and the decals you made look great.
  22. Will there be a showing at BrickUniverse Tulsa?
  23. There are many times that a part only comes in one set in a certain color, it's not a rare occurrence at all. Sometimes they eventually end up showing up in other sets and sometimes they don't.
  24. I really like the pricepoint for this set, so many train sets are so unaffordable for folks. The train is very cute and fits in well with the other WV sets. I'm disappointed by no straight track and no new minifigure torso designs, but the white small tree parts are nice. This will definitely go on my to-buy list.
  25. Why did post a topic about being "moc of the week" and not post your actual moc?
