@L-Gauger These are what I remember being discussed here over the years about the locomotives in their respective sets and my own thoughts: RC: 7897 looks like a German ICE, 7898 is basically a poor man's crocodile PF: 7939 looks like an British Railways Class 92, 7938's is a *, 3677 looks like a NS 6400 class, 60051 is another ICE loco, 60052 is a American GP-type diesel, 60098 is *, 10254 is probably based of the 1860's C.P. Huntington steam loco (with the rear two wheels made into a tender instead of attached to the loco frame) PU: 60197 looks kind of like a British Intercity225 (but sleeker!), 60198 was modeled after a French 'broken nose' -type loco in the prototype stage but was changed for unknown reasons as leaks showed, 60336 looks like a BR Class 93, 60337 is a poor man's TGV, 60470 is possibly based on a Siemens Charger. (thanks @XG BC for the help with this one!) Creator trains: 10194 is basically 'inspired by' LNER A3 Flying Scotsman, 10219 Maersk train is actually based off a SD-type diesel that was owned by Norfolk Southern and painted in that same color scheme, 10233 is a TGV in all but name, 10277 is a Swiss Crocodile loco, while the 21344 Orient Express loco is a matter of some debate... there is a whole thread on this issue! (* The ones marked with this symbol I can't remember what they are, but they are based off something.) Hope this helps!

What’s the most you’ve spent on a single piece?
Murdoch17 replied to Rjbricks's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Here's my answer to your query, @Rjbricks: $3+ a pop for a nine of these, from at least three stores. I needed eight of them for a large railroad water tower about seven years ago. (the ninth one was to replace a broken one I received) I swore after that, I'd never buy something so rare again! -
I never thought about it that way, but you appear to be correct about the Arctic engine not being based on anything!

Thank you @Elysiumfountain - this comment means a lot, as your builds have astounded me for years! I'm super glad to hear you like it!

Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Prove what you're saying you heard from last July or earlier this year is true. Otherwise, you're going to perceived as just blowing smoke to make yourself sound like you know something when you probably don't. Sorry, but we've seen this kinda deal too many times to count. Unless you can prove otherwise (a picture of a text with a timestamp of the earlier predications, for example, would work) or time turns out to vindicate you, you won't be believed. But whatever you do: don't post leaked images... good way to get banned doing that! -
Nice work @Corydoras! I love how sleeks it looks!

They increased the limit on certain projects for the current series. Tortuga, Transylvania, and Popcorn Wagon all had increases when they got to a certain point - otherwise they would have been sold out on Day 1. Nobody but LEGO knows if this will continue with future series!

@whataslacker It's a forum bug and is being looked into. See here.

NEW 2026 TRAIN SET ALERT! Going on sale June 2026 for BDP series 8 is this Brick Railroad: Diesel-Electric-Locomotive (A-Unit) by user ThomasRoeder and it is simply amazing! rear view top and side It can we motorized using PU through three methods, but none of those parts are included. In the flesh! If it makes it past the threshold in June 2026, it will ship out November of that year. (Now we just need a matching B unit MOC!)

Here's a picture of it, as it's just been revealed. More pictures on Brickset.

(Sorry for the 6 month wait for these pictures. I wasn't happy with portions of the cruiser-inspired cockpit I had made, but couldn't figure out what to do about it until a few days ago - and luckily I had all the parts to change it on hand!) The Blacktron Vendetta is finally finished! I combined the Renegade with a new cockpit modified from the Blacktron Cruiser GWP, with added parts from a free Rebrickable MOC's instructions for a Cruiser / Renegade adapter . The cargo pod is reverse engineered and modified from one posted in a Brickset article. You can view the Rebrickable MOC by user Brickstertwo here while the Brickset article about modifying 10355 is here. The rear of the vessel. I changed the engines flames from trans-red to trans-light blue to match the rest of my fleet. Same thing with the yellow technic wheels becoming light bluish gray. The cockpit seats one mini-figure, and has two laser cannons just outside the canopy. The removable cargo pod is inspired by one in a Brickset article from late December of last year. It works beautifully with the ship's drop mechanism. The top lifts open on a hinge so you can put cargo inside. Thoughts?

Looks like a good start so far @The Big MC, but I would raise the shelter canopies up a brick in height - the mini-figs walking by will hit their heads on them as it is currently!

Licensed Lego Ideas - Support & Discussion
Murdoch17 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Agreed. No offense to @TobyTheBuilder64, but LEGO depicting young adults and kids killing each other for entertainment of the ruling elite is not exactly a mess LEGO would want to get into... -
Thanks for the compliments @Feuer Zug! My OCD and perfectionism would not let me randomize the fence. (apologies!) I also needed it to be easy to build , cheap, and sturdy with this design checking all the boxes.

A LEGO version of the Monty Python and the Holy Grail film? As King Arthur says: "Great idea O Lord!" (Just don't tell the French as they might taunt you a bit....)

Damn! This looks very nice so far @domik! RE needing parts: Have you heard of Bricklink or the official LEGO site's Pick-A-Brick service for getting parts you need? (you'll need to change the location selected from the USA to Poland for that latter link) Bricklink has almost everything for sale all the way back to 1958, while PAB only carries parts for sets in production. (NOTE: Bricklink is a bit like E-Bay - you aren't buying from Bricklink, but individual people selling on the site.)

After around 20 months from conception to completion, the Blacktron 1 space outpost MOC is done! (It was actually done in early January of this year, but I forgot about it until now. ) This sandwich-looking model was built from an 2002 Alpha Team set 4795 (Ogel Underwater base and AT sub) but heavily modified to fit into the Blacktron I theme. I had to fill in the spots where the flexible plastic "window' pieces were, replace the skull logo with the upside-down Tri-Force logo of Blacktron I, find ways to make the model almost totally "air tight", and add on a radar dish instead of a harpoon gun. I also made the building a lot deeper - about eight studs. The rear of the model. I took out the fancy spinning wall of the original set and replaced it with a bank of windows. The radar installation and it's tower are my own design. As on the original set, the logo folds down, where it can be used as a ramp. Also as on the original set, the MOD folds open to access the inside details. Special shout out to Jon Mo who designed the brick built Blacktron logo I used on my model (thanks also goes to EliteGuard01 for finding that logo design and recommending it to me). The inside was very hard to figure out, as most space furniture is for me. I decided on six computer stations and a desk for the commander. Another source of trouble was to make the building open cleanly and close without holes. The original set struggled with this, and it failed miserably - however I feel I managed to fix that issue. Inside of the rear with the commander's desk front and center.
