  1. I don't believe this has ever happened so why are you bringing up such hearsay?
  2. I just use the direct to bricklink upload feature.
  3. They use the LDraw Library so you can add any parts that are in the tracker and even those that you make yourself. Its very cross-compatible. In fact, for any of the instructions commissions I take, I do not use the built in page make. I only use the step editor to get the steps then export to LDraw and use LPub3D to layout the pages.
  4. My point exactly. There is a free version that you can use all day for personal use. If you want to buy the features, there is that option too. Heck they could even just deliver a mostly bug free solution that I have to pay to upgrade every few years and I would be happy with that too. I would use mecabricks, if my goal was just building/rendering and not instruction making.
  5. We have a new 22' Ore Hopper in 1:48 scale available now!
  6. I understand that tho. I have AutoCAD as a student but I cannot use it to produce a drawing for a commercial project. That costs more. Studio is similar in that they want people to design for personal purposes and order from the website. It will have a bunch of great features for that purpose. In order to support the needs of someone doing instructions or models for commercial gain, they want to offer more features tailored to that user type and they want to charge for it. More like "Hey, Leonardo, thanks for buying our brush and doing whatever you want with it" vs "Hey, Leonardo, you borrowed that brush and without it you, couldn't have painted the Mona Lisa so we dont want you to sell that painting"
  7. Ok this doesnt bother me at all then. They have a free tool that they want everyone to use and it generates more bricklink orders, of which they get a cut of the money. Then they want to have a commercial version for folks to use for making instructions. It does not affect my work flow at all. I am happy to support more features and me being a paying customer hopefully gives my requests and needs a higher priority.
  8. Can you give me a link to the commercial version posts? I am interested to read them for myself.
  9. You will have to re generate the steps if you have adjusted them in the step viewer. This program is also no longer in development but BrickLink has begun offering a building software that can also do instructions. It is called Studio.
  10. Are there any other wheels on the engine? there are also a bunch of threads on here about the improvements to be made to the emerald night to get it running. You will also need to be sure the wheels are quartered and that you have a connecting rod on the wheels to ensure they are all in sync.
  11. Doesnt this only apply for something like 10000 or more parts?
  12. They are the same size but the connection for the motors is in a different location so depending on the locomotive design, you may need to alter some areas. For windows, have a look at this thread https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/169318-control-all-your-powered-up-power-function-sbrick-devices-with-a-single-software/
  13. Hmm are you opposed to using alternative battery solutions? Thank you! We have a lot of models so Im sure that we could find something to recolor for Frisco in the future. This would be fun in the future. We will be releasing this this week:
  14. SW yard switchers are hard especially in 6 wide. What scale would you be looking at for these?
  15. @Calabar How big is the backup? Maybe when you index it gets rehosted on a eurobricks specific bricksafe and given a consistent name like *Set Number*_*Set Name*_*Creator*? that way there are no issues also to resolve the broken pages, perhaps if such a solution existed we could also open a new thread to keep the index going without the issues.
  16. Thanks! I worked really hard on the website. What kind of prototypes do you have in mind for Milwaukee Road? 6 wide? 1:48 Scale?
  17. I am in the process of updating the Brick Train Depot website, Do you mind If I re-host these there?
  18. I would like to have this as well. I dont care for all the variations in LDraw but an XXL Flange and Blind of any type would be useful.
  19. All I have to say is WOW!! As for other surfaces, I make trains so any chance of some of these as geometries?
  20. I agree with this LEGO is not likely to approve the MOC for a set because the modulars are such great seller and then they own the idea for a few years after it gets rejected. As a MOC creator, there is way more to be had in selling instructions. not that is the goal but the shareability of your talents as a great MOC'er is way more available when you arent beholden to LEGO.
  21. @legoman666 can ship to europe for cheap and has very high quality stuff.
  22. Real NASCAR cars are literally the same body shell with different stickers to make them a "Camaro" or "Mustang" or "Charger" I think that the implementation of this is in LEGO is great!
  23. Put a 2x2 brick on the ground and then place your model on top of it to get it back to the standard rotation. Then delete the brick.
  24. Im with you here. I have big 8 wide diesels and rolling stock with detailed side frames and such. It makes it a pain to put trains on the rails. I will probably build a single bay workshop that hides this piece inside it but is easily removed for setup or re-railing at shows.
