  1. I know some of these words I would love to learn about these things but for now my only question is, how much trouble is caused in the corner cases and do you mean edge cases of variables or literal corners?
  2. You have put so much work in already I would hate to ask more so please dont spend time on it on my account
  3. After some digging, it appears that blender can export height maps. I guess I am off to learn a new 3D program haha. So now digging into this, would it be possible to combine the cliff section into this? Say if the slop is greater than 85 degrees on the heigh map, it makes a cliff instead? My use case is to make a "cut" through a mountain for a rail road.
  4. @Scrubs Continuing the discussion. You mention "leading industry software" and then say that Studio and LDCad are not that. If they are not "leading the industry then might I ask what software is doing that? I last tried to use MecaBricks 2 years ago and it left a terrible taste that I havent been back since. I just went and had another demo of the software and I see that you have improved it a lot but there are a few things that are still not what I would expect for an "industry leading software" There is no export to other brick building formats. Tab doesnt seem to work. I have just tried to render a cover for a project and the scene is ~17000 bricks. It will not let me render even tho I have credits to be used. The snap functionality does no work as advertised in the "snap" video. Is there a way to change the default movement from the mouse? I would like the single left click to select a part and a drag of left click to be a multi-part selection by default, not a drag around the scene. I will be giving this a fair shake over the next few days as I work on some projects.
  5. To be quite frank, I love what Mecabricks aspires to be but the user interface leaves a lot to be desired.
  6. @SylvainLS you are a machine! This is frankly genius, now one question. Might someone have a way to turn a 3D mesh into a height field? I have a lot of experience in 3D modeling so making a "landscape" then having a height map of it would be very useful.
  7. The reduction of parts is very nice! I was doing some testing and accidentally generated a file with 170,000+ parts. 168,000 or so of those were 1x1 green plates
  8. @Lowa This is sad news. My self and some of the others over at Brick Train Depot have reached out to Tom about making and selling those product via the Brick Train Depot Website.
  9. It actually appears to be the GP style model from the 10183 Hobby train set. The nose is not the same as the BNSF Lego set.
  10. Its one of the render settings called animation. As far as I know it cannot do the second request only the first. beware it can take hours to days for rendering these clips. I dont have a fast computer at all (a 1080p render on medium takes 30 minuted for a single frame) so the one time I tried a 3 second, 24 frames per second clip, it was projected to take over a day of near 100% CPU usage.
  11. Hello All! These are back up and working here https://www.bricktraindepot.com/resources/
  12. Looks great! you might want to update the link in your signature as well.
  13. I drive all the flanged drive axles. the rods only serve to move the blind drivers.
  14. @legoman666 Recommends sewing machine oil. I use 3-in-1 oil. I pulled a train about as long as the one you have here on a pair of 9V motors around R40. At home with my R56, if I hit the emergency stop, my train derails due to momentum.
  15. You need some oil on those bearings! Well oiled, that train should run without rare earth magnets.
  16. Any reason to go thru all this for the outdated and unsupported LEGO Digital Designer vs an open format like LDraw or the supported Studio?
  17. Hey Alban, I am very well versed in layers but I do find myself forgetting to set them up. Is there a sort of "default template" file I could have load on new or opening the program? I am very excited for the Library sharing features.
  18. @Alban Nanty I had one more thought as I was using this today. Would it be possible to add a "select by type" and/or a "select by category" action to the right click menu? Select by type would select all of that part on the current layer Select by category would select all of the part type (ie road, track, baseplate, etc) on the current layer wonderful program!
  19. Ahh ok thanks.
  20. One other thing. I cannot get Mono to work with this. Have you tried any of the wine variants on mac?
  21. Its small but can the default export be updated to be png instead of BMP?
  22. Thats still the software of choice for many of us. I recommend downloading the extra track packs from L-gauge.org
  23. It was in the Santa Fe Super Chief train set and is very expensive these days.
