Hey, Eslandola. I'm tempted to put a little GREEN in your DAY when I get around to doing a dockside scene.- 780 replies

<rant> My big issue with the KCW was the lopsided voting pool. My GA should have won, given I had a cleaner build and my story was well executed. The other builders' story was barely legible. </rant> If you don't want to bother with complicated game mechanics, you don't have to. I'm not. Just be sure to fill out the freebuild webform. It's not hard.

Manufacturing probably would mean multi-component products, that could conceivably be made from acquired parts (not made in house). Pistols, muskets, and maybe even canon would probably fall into that range. That's what makes sense to me.

I called it! Dearji, Wandering Acolyte of the Triuri, may perform the ceremony only if Lady Margot proves with child. That is unlikely, given Lord Damaximus' background and relationship with the crown.

But wouldn't that open up the possibility of copyright infringement? Fully modeled Lego parts designs could conceivably used by someone to create their own injection molds.

About the MIckey Mouse Clubhouse viewers, my point wasn't about the current children watching the show, but those that have watched the show before in its 9+ years run. Many of them will be of an age to be buying CMFs, and should remember the characters.- 4,155 replies

No, like in National Treasure, there's an invisible map on the back. You need the optical device, with special pieces of glass, to see it.- 897 replies

[Microchallenge] A mysterious chest, floating in the sea...
gedren_y replied to Pimbo's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
So, builds for this challenge should be registered as freebuilds in the webform. Correct?- 23 replies

I think that part of the hold-up is that most people perceive pirates as needing their own ships, and those may take some time to build. It is reasonable to think that the Sea Rats may grow in number later on.

It appears that all of the single color armors are the four stud version. I'd like that treasure chest design in the image legozebra shared.

The Gargoyles show tried to appeal to the tween market, but the viewing time didn't make much sense (at least when it aired here). The whole Angela - Demona story got a little confusing, and getting around how the Gargoyles breed was difficult for a children's show (US censorship at the time). The characters wouldn't really translate well to minifigs in any event. The CMF Faun legs could work, but the CMF Gargoyle wings are too small, the wrong shape, and don't move. Also their tails go from thick to thin, and their ears and hair are different enough that none of the elf or LOTR/Hobbit orc headpieces will work. For one figure you'd need four new molds; left wing, right wing, tail and hair/ears. That kind of expense would make sense for sets, where three of the molds would be used for most figs, but there is no current show, so no. I don't see Scrooge McDuck happening in a first series, but Prof. Ludwig Von Drake could happen. He's a regular on the current version of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. So are Pete and Clarabelle. Chip and Dale make the occasional appearance, but at the scale would be microfigs. Mortimer Mouse is there too. (There is a non-Disney Mortimer Mouse from the old Sunday comic Outland, which was portrayed as a sort-of anti-Mickey,) The series began in 2006 and is still running.- 4,155 replies

I just saw the tail end of a commercial for Zootopia. Checked on IMDb, and its release date is March 4. Could we finally get an Idris Elba figure?- 4,155 replies

Captain Daffyd "Splattersquawk" Prows maintains his status as an independent tradesman. The Dark Narwhal, though light on guns, is a scourge to pirates and a nuisance to Oleon.- 780 replies

The best way to do Mike would be to make him like Mrs. Puff. Her molds are not that far off. Sully, though wouldn't be scaled correctly at minifig dimensions. He would need to be somewhere between Dogpound and the FE Troll bigfig. Roz might work.- 4,155 replies

Given that we aren't getting the Football series, Series 15 may have a slightly later run in the US. Series 15 might have a longer run here too. -

This reminds me of the hacienda sets from the old Disney's Zorro starring Guy Williams. The fig on the horse even looks like George J. Lewis as Don Alejandro de la Vega.

I thought that a studio had to acquire the license to use an actor's likeness for merchandising. That is rare in the contracts for television actors. I don't know if OUAT has any merchandising. The show isn't targeted at Lego's core demographic, so I doubt it would happen even if Disney owned the merchandising rights.- 4,155 replies
