Many thanks! If you like that scale - rest assured - more will come! also some more standard vehicles, trucks etc ;-) Also been playing around with trans for windowing, so maybe that can improve the look a bit...? Mercedes 190 Evo II by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr

Many thanks Nemo! Indeed, the new scale looks more organic, its getting a bit away from my previous more blocky designs (at least on some models)^^. Im currently working on a big project considering my Supercars, so Minivans, SuV's and so on have to wait a while - but eventually, they will be here soon ;-) Been busy lately, some more Cars (redesigns for some models), hope you like them ;) Scale relations - what can be more cool than an aventador in your living room? Creations like these are the proof lego can be more than just bricks clinging on top each other! Masterfully done. To me, its the best brickbuild T-Rex i've ever seen, proportions look very correctly scaled after the known data - and posable/articulation - wow! Colour pattern is very cool, allthough a brownish greyish one would be interesting aswell imo. Keep up your excellent work!

Many thanks there! im really happy with the new solutions i found for the front design - i thought the transition from 7 to 6 wide wouldnt give me all the techniques i used to have on the 7 wide - but now, in my opinion it looks even better ! Also cuts part count by 20% hehe yeah, thats quite something interesting with this model... imo, most sportscars really share very similar design lines. So the new Ford GT isnt something totally groundbreaking from a design part of view. To me personally, it combines lots or character from the Aventador (front) and the koenigsegg (cockpit design) plus Ferrari's narrow body sides. So, thats why i settled for sculpting it out of my Aventador. The headlights on the GT are very tricky, this solution here was the best i could do for that one front technique. Maybe working with rubber bands and stickers irl can get more recognisable results soon. A Jaguar XJ220 definately is in there - with broader sides it could easily pass as that one Fun fact: Ford developed the XJ220 back then together with Jaguar. If you look at this picture, i personally see the GT 40 touch in it. I bet, some of the new GT's technique or design is based on this rather "cancelled" car. Designers usually start from somewhere - especially when it was one of "their" co- designs. Wasnt too hard getting the Ferrari done out of this one aswell , so yeah, i think this car can be layed out to any interpretation easily, since its rather "universal" design. i think a bit more detail work is necessary then, to really settle for the different brands more distinctivley... cheers and thanks for stopping by! ok, here we go with the first 5 wide. its a tuned BMW e30. Being 170 cm wide, its 30 cm narrower than the Aventador. In 1/41 thats a 1x1 plates width - so 5 wide is pretty accurate here, allthough it looks very skinny now... 5 wide BMW e30 by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr

Hello there, Im reworking my scale atm, applying some changes mostly in the width of cars. 7 wide is actually too wide in 1/42 , which i knew at start, but since i wanted the figs to fit in, i mathmatically blended the Figs width ratio into my cars. It ended in making the cars look short, allthough they were long enough. But now i considered making car widths.... 190 - 200cm = 6 wide 170 -180 cm = 5 wide So i am reworking literally every model so far, here are my first result (plus a new car that came in handy = the new ford GT!) enjoy! Thanks to you both! It truly has some batmobile flair in it! Must have been the design era, where dome cockpits and fins were the term of futuristic design ;)

Possible new Speed Champions set? New FORD GT / Classic GT40
Ron Dayes replied to P3_Super_Bee's topic in LEGO Town
cool video + soundtrack and splendid model! - allthough there are some areas that dont match the original one in the video, im really liking how the back was done here Will be hard to tell how it was done exactly^^ also, grey is a pretty nice colour or this one :) If you still want to have a look at a different front, actual back windowing and video correct sides, you should check out this thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=135366 you will also find some more models other users have done based on the video/file cheers! -
extremly well done! Nice renders! I also updated the old LDD file of the GT40 for anyone else that is interested. I took PROTOTYPES analysis of the vid and changed the back - this should be very correct now shapewise Find the new file for a free download here on moc-pages.com !
-
Many thanks for building this so fast. Also many thanks to all of you for the praise! The quest aint over yet - fellow flickr member //PROTOTYP figured out the back design - since i didnt knew this new tubish connector piece, i did the back wrong, allthough it led to a somewhat similar result. I believe his back design to be very correct, he analysed the video very patiently and with a keen eye. I will update the file soon, but if you want to start right off, use this pic as build reference - Many thanks to Prototype! Cheers

First of all, for those who havent seen it allready: They claim it to be just for advertising and not to become an official set. Well, looking through the video, this is quite easy to build. So we dont mind^^ From what i could see, there are no new parts so this can be build with nowadays "standard" stuff. If you allready own some of the SC, this should be a piece of cake partwise. File is ready for LDD download via this link , though im not very sure on the inside structure. The shape however should be correct ;-) Enjoy Ford GT 40 Speed Champions LDD file by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr

Thank you all for your very nice comments and your honest opinions! Nice to see it appealed to you guys, maybe more "vingettish" renders regarding this postman will follow ;-) see you around and keep on brickin'! I wrote something short on this over at flickr - just click into the picture^^ thanks man, and yeah - the hindlegs were not really an option since the scale is very small, so i decided for wheels and made the dog cartoonish enough to make this one work. Some parts are frankly not availiable in the colours, but maybe i can find something else to get this into real bricks one day^^ cheers! man, how could i forget about that one. Very right you are!

You can find Searchfunctions builds here He also has a mocpages account (http://www.moc-pages.com/home.php/96166), but i believe the 4 seater is faster found on flickr, just scroll down a little... Also, if interested, i made one a while back in a smaller scale (1/42) http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/412365 Hope this helps, Cheers!

Thanks for the great interest in this model ! I will send you the LDD so you can see for yourself ;-) and its not a flick missile piece, its just standard pins - coming to that whole front conenction, LDD wont le me do a perfect fit, allthough it should be possible in real bricks. Furthermore the wheelfork made of both pieces pointed out by murphy_slaw (Thanks for that!) dont interlock - again - in real bricks, you should be able to do so, since those pieces can bend a lil bit so they fit to each other. In LDD i couldnt do so, so i turned one part of the wheelfork away from the other^^ Also, the wheels probably wont turn without some "non purist grinding" of the front fork bar ends. I can suggest rubber bands to lay around here and there, so everything that is "simply" clipped (droid arms, clip bars) , stays where it is and doesnt swing around i checked all parts via BL and LDD standard mode, so this could be your possible ghostrider bike Have fun with it!

many thanks! you mean like that? Ghost Rider by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr

many thanks nathan - i should build some more variants though, most of it is colour changes for now^^ keep on brickin haha, thanks man - well, i guess murphy_slaw said it pretty well. But nearly everything is possible! Thanks murphy! the removable seat was obligatory, since without it, it just seemed to plain - cool that you approve of that one. haha, yeah, that was kind of the idea here, to use that piece for a "chopper" handlebar. I've also seen real chain made handle bars irl, so, i think its kinda fitting^^ see you around, cheers!
-
many thanks, i think its called batman handcuff or something ? well, definately a cool piece! also many thanks to you! Its #T=C"]this part used on both sides of the wheel - has a "bar" connection, connected to a 1x1 round with open hole, which is being surrounded by the old vintage wheel.

Many Thanks for the kind words Captain Green hair! you mention the one important thing here, that even got me into this roof designing mess: windshields! There are no 5 wides, there are only 2 angles in windshield moulds, the 4 wide hinge windshield is always too small and those 33° trans bricks you mentioned only allow that angle, and a lot of cars dont have that number for theirs...on the other hand, It just looks too much like vintage lego from the 70ies to me I once tried making all tiles trans aswell (even though not all exist) -> result is a windshield mess, looking like broken glass cause of the inner studs and pins (would be good for such a setting though^^). Similar to the Miniland Cars of the Lego Parks. So i gave that one up and went with black and grey (like lego did with the tiny turbos, etc). Furthermore, modern roof designs have that distinct curve - once i gotten the roof curved, those hinge pieces always interfered with any windshield i used. Often the windshields are even way to high to be used in my scale, so i couldnt make much use of that category in LDD. BUT yeah, trans definately looks better - i just dont have that option Maybe for a real bricks version i could cut some transparent plastic into place or something like that. Or work more with tubes/hoses and so on (LDD bugs with those bendable parts...). For now, i can only offer a standard Model of the E30, where i closed up some gaps in the window design (btw, those are 1x1 bricks - maybe this one could be a lot better for trans piece usage than my recent Cars...) First of all, this turned out really nice! You stated, that you are new, so this is a hell of a start! Modding existing Sets is a good way to head off into unknown spheres of lego car building ;) So welcome to the Car-building fraction! I must agree with gotoAndLego though, the front and back needs some work to get the look more "right". To give you a good start on lego "Mustangs" , there are some magnificent and well known models from excellent builders id like to show you: Er0L Derjoe Chris All of these contain nice techniques. You will also find the side snot with trans red 1x1 Tiles in those flickr streams. That technique really is amazing for getting the 'Mustang Job' done ;) Furthermore (not sure what parts you have) you can also put a small 1L technic pin into the fronts black technic brick and then attach the slope pieces to it - the oldschool way of doing a 1x1 brick with stud on side ;) cheers!
