I really like your collection of builds, though if I may be honest I'm no big fan of using only masonry bricks for walls... Still, good job!

Go apples, go apples! Nice entry, my favoured build must be the first one. The castle has a classic feeling to it, while still using some nice techniques... Good job -

This is gorgeous man The story is great, and as for the builds: my favoured must be the library, followed by the throne room (the horse mosaic is just crazy ). The crypt is also quite cool! Amazing entry overall man (also, did you draw inspiration from ZCerberus's Historica United?)- 29 replies

**Book II Challenge V Official Announcment**
TitusV replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Here's my entry, enjoy! The Beggar-King -
This story starts right after the last prelude, The Blind Beggar Inn (Build by ZCerberus). Enjoy! ---------------------------------- Erissa: But? That’s impossible! If it’s true… Breggan and Sir Buress, at the same time: It is true. Erissa: Then you Avalonians have had the Heir to all of Historica at your disposal for years! Arzan: Wait? What? I don’t get it… He felt confused, like a good joke had just been told but he was the only one in the room who didn’t find it funny. And the Heir was not something you made jokes about. Erissa: This man, who Breggan and Lord Buress claim to be the returned heir, is the innkeeper. Arzan: So you’re telling me that the heir is nothing more than a blind beggar? Dugal: Nocturnus will not accept this! We will not follow an incapable man! The room developped into a big shouting-party. Enough! It was the first time the Heir had spoken, but there was something in his voice that made everyone shut up. It is true. I am the Heir to Cedrica, and as such your rightful King. Erissa: I think you owe us an explanation, to say the least. Surprisingly, it was not the Heir but Sir Buress who started talking. Sir Buress: You’re right. It ... Arzan: Of course she is right! Sir Buress: And now shut up and listen, snake! You’re lucky he is the King, or I would send you back to the darkness you call home. Arzan: But, but… He looked around for help, but everyone was waiting for Sir Buress to tell his story. Sir Buress: It all started a long time ago… I know most of you are young, he looked at Arzan, but I’m sure you can remember the Revolword Wars. It was during these wars that Lord Rex called me to the Pearl City, Albion, to find a solution for the problem called “Victor Revolword”. During my stay in the capital, we took a walk to inspect the walls. Suddenly, Artorious stopped. He became pale as ghost, and I had already drawn my sword to fend off the cursed Drow assassin that had poisoned him, when he slowly lifted his index finger. There, on the street beneath us, was a beggar. A beggar! In the Capital itself! In the most beautiful Pearl of Historica! This was not something we could tolerate. We had the beggar arrested and brought before us... Artorious Rex: He’s the Heir to all of Historica, damned! Sir Buress: Aye sir, he is. Artorious Rex: And he roamed the streets of our capital as a blind beggar! Sir Buress: Aye sir, he did. Lord Artorious suddenly stopped his pacing, and sat down in his chair with a sigh. Artorious Rex: What are we to do with him? Sir Buress: Well, we might be able to use him. He could unite the four Guilds against Revolword like no other. Artorious Rex: Hmm… He would indeed unite the Guilds. But at what cost? The Dragon would have to bend it’s knee. We’d have to give up our freedom… But I will not bow! No, I have a better idea. Assemble all Guild Leaders in Marecroft Manor. As for the Heir… I guess he’ll have to stay a beggar for a little bit longer. Sir Buress: But what if he is found by someone else? Artorious Rex: That would be a problem for sure… Take him with you when you return to Mesodraconem. Give him a job. Keep him close and busy. I’d propose an inn. The roads are full of refugees nowadays… And we may be able to use him later on. Sir Buress: An excellent idea, my Lord. Artorious: And Buress… Sir Buress: Yes, my lord? Artorious: Keep it silent, will you? ----------------- An old watchtower, at the border of the Nocturnian Swamplands. Izig: H’ve you hearrrrd? They’ve found a new heirrrr. Historrrrica’s unit’ng ‘gain. Mizig: Pfff… Drrreams, broth’rrrrr. You’ve eat’n too much tnoka-leaves. I’ve told you b’forrrrre they’rrrre bad. Makes you hearrrr things you’d n’ver… Holy ancestorrrrs! Look therrrrre! Izig: My… We’ve to send worrrd to Lorrrrd Turrrrok imm’diatly! That must be the whole Spirrrre arrrmy! They’rrrre c’ming strrrraight forrr us! ----------------- The military staff of Free Historica, the Heir included, has set up their headquarters in the Grand Griffon Tavern. The armies of the Spire and its many allies are within an hour’s march, and preparing for battle, while the Resistance is doing the same. The atmosphere is loaded with tension: the enemy not only has a numerical advantage, but Spire troops are also known for torturing their victims after winning a battle. Everyone realises they’ll only get this one chance. The Heir: Tell me Buress, what are your plans? Sir Buress: Of course, my lord. The Avalonians, who form the backbone of our army, have positioned themselves just north of the Cedrica. Their northern flank is protected by vast woods. Since it seemed to Elon Chorian the Mitgardians would fight better if they knew the terrain, they have disguised themselves between the trees. The Heir: And the Kaliphlinites? Sir Buress: That fool mummy, who defies your authority, is harassing the Spire’s rearguard. However, some anti-Desert King soldiers have signed up for the Resitance. We’ve kept them as reserves. At the same time, the few Nocturnians who could make it here have dug themselves into Cedrica, or what is left of the old city after such a long time without a ruler... The Heir: If we win the battle, that time is over. If… Appearing quite worried: Do you think there’s any chance at all your plan might succeed? Sir Buress: Honestly? I don’t know my lord. The two commanders can see a messenger approaching in the distance, shouting all the while. Messenger: My lord, my lord! Word from the Nocturnians! The Heir: And so it has started. Let’s roll the dice, my friend. ----------------- Arzan: How many soldiers did the enemy count? Messenger: A lot, my lord. We were lucky some parts of the old city wall still stand, or we’d be swiped off from the map at once. Elon Choorian: And with you, our southern flank and the whole army. Arzan: We can’t let that happen, we should send our reserves there immediately! Sir Buress: No! That’s what he wants! If we do so, we’ll… They’re startled by another messenger. His mail is spattered with bloody stains, and the eyes of his horse roll wildly. Mitgardian Messenger: It’s horrible sirs! We didn’t even hear them coming, they just appeared in our midst! Sir Buress: Calm down man. Who are “they”? Mitgardian Messenger: The Algus, sir! They bring a cold worse than winter, and our lightly armored archers are dropping like flies without the cover of the leaves! It’s no battle over there, it’s a slaughter! Elon Choorian: The Nocturnians will need to stand their own a bit longer. To Arzan: I’m sorry, boy. But this is exactly why we kept the Kaliphlinites as reserves. Sir Buress: Send in the Barqan fire guys. Let’s heat things up a bit! The Messengers: ??? Ageven Deraim: When discussing ways to defy the Algus, I remembered that Barqan engineers have found a very way to turn tar, quite common in Kaliphlin, into a deadly weapon. After long negotations, we managed to persuade the very reluctant Lord Gideon to join forces with the Resistance… After this bold move, the northern flank recovers and the Second Battle for Cedrica goes on. At the Grand Griffon, the High Command grows more worried every hour. They’ve almost used up all their tricks, and at seemingly no effect. Finally, a messenger from the Avalonian front brings the dreaded news. Elon Choorian: Are you sure? Avalonian Messenger: I’m sorry sir, but yes. The Avalonian front is breaking. Soldiers are turning their back on the enemy. The ones who surrender are killed at the spot, or worse. Only Lord deGothia, who has collected a small part of the Dragonflight around him, keeps the Spire from breaking through completely. Ageven Derain: We’re lost! Everyone clearly heard the despair in his voice. Arzan, looking angry at Trian Buress: And it’s you’re fault, treehugger! You told us “The Dragon will persist!” Everyone now looks at Lord Buress. Sir Buress: Aye, I did. And it’s no ly. We just need to wake the Dragon first. Lord Beorthan? The lord of the Trifork, who had not entered the discussion to date, takes a step forward. Lord Beorthan: Lord Buress knew that, however brave Historica fought, this moment would come. Henceforth, he sent me on a secret mission. On one of the Mystic Isles, I found who I was looking for. This alchemist, who lives in the county of Eolas, is specialised in the death. He told me how we could use the Necromancer’s Helm for our own purposes… When Lord Beorthan throws the Helm on the table, all leaders automatically take a step back. The power emerging from the Helm is unmistakable. It now is Buress’s time to uncover an ancient relic. Sir Buress: This, my lords, is the signet ring of the Avalonian Marshall. Normally, it was worn by Artorious Rex himself, but since his disappearance I’ve kept it safely locked away because of the powers it contains. It creates a bond with his owner, for example. He puts the ring on the table, some distance from the Helm. Despite this, the two seem to attract each other like magnets. Upon touching, the cloud becomes dark. Thunder can be heard over the whole battlefield, and lightning strikes down amidst friend and foe alike. However, the bolts aimed at Avalonians come together to form the shining image of a mounted man. Suddenly Rex’s voice booms over the fighting: Riders of Avalonia, Knights of West, please here me! I know that your horses walk lamely and your weapons slash bluntly. I know that your wounds are throbbing and your muscles are cramping, but your minds are still brave! Will you riders follow me, one last time? Will you fight next to me, one last time? Will you awaken the Flight of Dragons, one last time?! The roaring of a thousand Avalonian voices makes the Spire’s troops waver. This is everything the Resistance needs as they follow the lighting figure in a deciding strike, only ending in Raavage’s tent. ----------------- One month later, the new High King makes his entry into Cedrica. Under loud cheering, he appears on the balcony of the Royal Palace. The High King: Free men of Historica! He has to wait several moments before the crowd is silent again. You have fought well, and have won well. But at a cost: only yesterday, we buried Steen Larsson, who held the Mitgardian flank long enough for the Kaliphlinites to arive. I have judged these costs to be too high. Reforge your spears into ploughs, because there will be no more war. Instead, we will rebuild this country and bring prosperity as never before!!! ----------------- So, I hope you liked me entry. CC very welcome! I need to thank @Blufiji, @The Maestro (who also took the image of Artorious Rex for the Avalonian poster) and @kabel for their support and company during the whole building-process. And of course everyone who's sigfiggie makes his appearance (can you name all figures on the Avalonian poster?) (I need to apology for not having the right pieces to copy everyone's sigfig exactly) and the people I draw inspiration from. Lastly, this small image just because I'm really proud of this piece of MOCing

It's great to finally see the completed version posted, and you have outdone yourself sir. Only the amount of dk green bricks is mind-blowing, but you used every single one of them to create a swampy atmosphere as only you can. The vegetation is great, and I really like your little vegetable garden Please keep up the good work!

The fact that you thinks "it beats the original by a slim margin" prooves that you're evlving into the direction of a great builder! Keep it up! Also, a very cool MOC

TitusV replied to LittleJohn's topic in Guilds of Historica
It's been too long we got a new chapter in your story, but this is excellent! I really like the courtyard-feeling you created, and though I feel the water could have a bit more life to it the sand green defenitely works well! -
A great presentation of a very nice MOC, I really enjoyed reading and watching the images. Good job Garmadon!

this is so cool man! I'm glad that you didn't go too crazy, it makes your build more realistic, while still keeping your typical buildig style and beauty! A lovely MOC altogether, though my favored part must be the second floor!

some Nice builds you've got there, though it's a pity almost all images are close-ups. Some images showing the complete build wouldn't hurt -
Book II Chal V: Cat C: The fate of Historica (Spire part)
TitusV replied to kahir88's topic in Guilds of Historica
I was thinking that a tomb under ground where prisoners are sacrificed would fit as Ravaage's throneroom, but I think I missed the word "Mitgardia" -
Now, that's promising

Now that's a pretty impressive build! Especially the large surface covered makes my jaw drop Great job!

TitusV replied to MKJoshA's topic in Guilds of Historica
Some very nice builds you've got there! My favoured part must be the Skeleton-trees, though it's hard to choose. The story is also very cool, I defenitely did not see that plot-twist coming! That being said, Avalonia will not bow to some Kaliphlin mummy -
Neat build Kai! Some intresting techniques here, especially these tiles work well I think!
-
I really like how these little scene seems divided into two parts: the water and the land. I love both of them, and the "border" between them (the reeds) is great!
