  1. Oh that escaped me! It was ridiculously obvious too on hindsight. Fantaaaaaaastic little extra. Truly.
  2. I'm speechless. So much love for this one.
  3. Beautiful! Just as you say in your story. I really love this. I have a perfect sense of dramatic scale and it looks exactly as it would had I zoomed out of a scene like this. A nice touch too in your story too explaining why the trees leaves are colored as they are.
  4. Fantastic! I like the pipe, the details with the tools, how the operation is detailed in a video - pretty much everything - except for the fact that it's Mantis. Great work!
  5. Oh of course! I hadn't thought about that for some reason. I'll edit my post with a simple sig banner variant in a few moments. That way the option exists and you don't have to have the cut outs or the pole on the right, unless you want them, because that's cool too actually. I may do that as well.
  6. I hope some of our members on all teams who haven't posted a build yet get to see that reply. I could not agree more. I need to remind myself of the very same thing. Great post.
  7. Ah surely it is that, however I noticed it too easily so I was looking for something else. Still like the starfish with the beanie though.
  8. I like the story, the posing and the build, but I really must congratulate you on the lighting and photography. That certainly took it up and notch and supported the desired atmosphere. Bravo!
  9. Nice micro build. I like the dark grey mountain and the water on the shoreline especially.
  10. Nice underwater scene. I really like your sub. I saw them. Your... starfish is wearing a hat??
  11. A little refinement on my banner and I offer it here for anyone in a few flavors. Feel free to use them if you want or to offer any suggestions. 3-part Banner Due to the way the sig editor works, this one uses 3 images so that the pole can be extended above the AG sigfig image. You set it up in two rows of two images, the two pole images on top and then the sigfig and banner in the second row. It aligns nicely, but the downside to this solution is you are using 4 of your 5 allowed sig images, which may be an issue to some. I'm considering other options too. The two poles: The banner (including both spellings): Standalone Banner This is the one to use if you need the space for three other images. Comes in standard size and narrow. Narrow would fit inline a bit better with the AG sigfig image. Standard Narrow Kawashita Signature This version makes sense to include as well. It's simply the banner itself, sans the Samurai-style pole work. This version sits inline with the AG sigfig image better: These are of the original height and work too:
  12. Those creatures are awesome. Fantastic use of a few little parts. My favorite thing in the build though is the striation of ice underneath the snow. It really makes the build for me and establishes that we are seeing a planet of ice moreso than it would have simply showing the snow on top. Very nice!
  13. Great B&W photography! Really like the trees.
  14. I too like the investigative quality and the staging. Well done!
  15. I like the fish skeleton!
  16. Cool little micro! (ah, I should have chosen better wording! )
  17. Oh it does! I knew the Z-95 but I had to look up Jek-14. Was unfamiliar with his background and starfighter. Learn something every day! Thanks!
  18. Perhaps they are! If only this were real bricks... I need a better collection. Having returned to Lego recently with no bricks, best I can say is I'm working on that. This site and then this game inspired me to try to do so. However, to build things like I have been may yet take a while. Currently I can build some really small things in real bricks. This one is perfectly buildable and solid. It doesn't use anything too crazy. Having checked it all, there are 5 tan hinge plates (the kind with 2 and then 3 fingers) that would present the most difficulty acquiring. It needs a few 2x4 plate wedges for the hole, too, and they aren't terribly common. If there are any weight problems due to the breaching nature of it, it was designed to lean on the sand trailing from its mouth.
  19. It's easy enough to slide the poles the other way so that the banner is first and the sigfig image is second. Might be that's what I do, so there could be two versions. Might do that later and then post the images for both, although this one is all set.
  20. Thanks as well. Different enough to be sure. No worries at all even if not. The way I look at it, let's have the worms take over this week! I'm eagerly awaiting another!
  21. I'm experimenting with making a new Kawashita sig banner for personal use - but - if anyone wishes to use it I am absolutely happy with sharing it around. If there's any issue with it, the way the images are working in the sig editor, I need to make it three pieces. I'm hoping board staff won't mind if I include a few small thumbnails with what is there? The poles that make up 2 of the 3 parts are super tiny size-wise. Anyway, feel free to drag the three parts to your desktop and use, make suggestions, and/or ask me to post them somewhere etc.
  22. Thanks! Really was hoping to capture exactly that. Glad it was conveyed. The hole is several layers of 2x4 and 3x3 wedge plates. It really only shows from the top view. I'm considering another run at the sand in general - if I have time - but the hole would be built the same. I know, right?! I'm expecting more. Very happy with them also, thanks! As much as I was thrilled with how the body rings turned out (key part of the build, of course, as I wanted it bending and turning), when I built the first tongue and put the teeth on it - that was the moment I felt like I was going to be able to make it like I pictured it in my head. Ah, Dune. Such a great book. I really should reread it. Wait! I said I never read it! Do-dee-do... whistles. Thanks for the Bluerender suggestion. Maybe I'll try it. I'm on a Mac. It's powerful enough, it's just some of the various conversion tools from one format to the other are PC-only. Willing to try anything though as I would really like to make the leap over to actual renders.
  23. Absolutely! You'd be welcome. We more or less just started. We are on week 4. It will run forever. In all seriousness, it's planned to run quite a while.
