  1. Be patient. It actually says on the B&P website that "due to a large number of orders deliveries will take longer..." Putting in five more bricklink orders at $100+ higher cost seems like insanity to me when you've gone to so much trouble to rationalize costs by substitutions, use of fake parts etc. B&P are more reliable than any BL store I've come across.
  2. I own a couple of them, including the one for Poe's X-wing. This seller popped up last year and they have been selling like crazy. The quality/workmanship is top notch and they look amazing, particularly with the laser etched graphics. I live in Australia but even so postage is also almost the same as the cost of the stand. If there are several you are interested in then I would contact them to get a combined shipping quote.
  3. It's hard to predict what TLG will do in the future. It seems likely there will be a "UCS" playset with a small Snowspeeder and a bona fide UCS Snowspeeder on the shelves at the same time. Maybe there's hope we will get a UCS Cloud City playset with small Slave 1. We all know Snowspeeders and Hoth are a special case though
  4. Thanks . Although it appears to you need to sign up to a "pro" account to go back more than 6 months. Interestingly though site visits went up 72% from Nov 2015 to Jan 2016. Normal christmas/holiday period spike?
  5. Dear admin, Is there anywhere we can view annual site statistics? Even simple line graphs with year on the x axis and y as things like; total # of members, total # of posts, # of posts/theme, views, etc. As one of the biggest snapshots of the AFOL community I think it would be really interesting for members to see the growth in Eurobricks since its inception.

  7. But worth it for the IT crowd GIF... This was mentioned a couple of pages back....
  8. To paraphrase The Lego Movie; "that is literally the dumbest thing I've ever seen". "That idea is just. The worst.".
  9. Personally I wouldn't risk paying hundreds of dollars on the premise that it's real. I own a fake one, bought it for less than $20 and the printing is so good I can't tell. I wouldn't normally (knowingly) buy fakes but it's genuine Lego and its a cool minifig. Even the polybag would be easy to copy so I wouldn't rely on that. They were extremely limited release and given out to individuals at specific events so when you see Ebay sellers who have sold or are selling multiples it's pretty safe to assume they are reproductions.
  10. On that point the cheapest complete used set in "excellent" condition with box I could find on BL was £190 (~€240) from a seller in UK. It might be a viable option for you. If you don't really want the minifigs you could sell them to make it an even better proposition.
  11. I agree. A lot of the internal parts are structural. Compromise on that and you will loose stability. Even if you assumed 1000 parts were dedicated to play features (in reality it will be much less) that still leaves you with more than 2000 pieces to BL. Even at a highly ambitious estimate of 0.10 per piece when you factor in shipping it's not viable. Bricklinking currently available UCS sets is an exercise in futility. I would buy the Sandcrawler now whilst it's still available and get the Slave 1 later. Remember Lego double VIP points ends today which effectively gives you 10% in credit towards the Slave 1 purchase : )
  12. A $500 MF or AT-AT but that's an entirely different argument. Personally, I'm hoping for a new and improved DS that has better display value than the last one. The first UCS Snowspeeder is already pretty damn big but I'm sure they will bump up the piece count to around ~ 2000+ by using smaller parts without significantly changing its physical size.
  13. Gorgeous once again Markus, it definitely has your signature. I especially love the ice work on the ceiling of the hangars and those light gantries. Thanks for sharing!
  14. Wow! That is stunningly original. The offsets and math involved to get that shape is not trivial by any stretch. Well done.
  15. It officially retired in November. Regardless, it wouldn't have given customers long to decide. You would think they would have extended its life cycle, similar to Ghostbusters HQ extending the life cycle of Ecto-1. I guess TFA sets took priority for Star Wars shelf real estate.
  16. I totally agree. You would think they would sell a lot more of both sets if availability dates overlapped. There is plenty of precedence for them doing so in the past such as ROTJ Tatooine sets a few years back or the previous Hoth playsets before that. An "assault" on Hoth without an AT-AT doesn't make for much of an assault.
  17. Then it wouldn't be a Lego UCS Death Star, it would be a collection of Death Star themed playsets. The current Death Star Final Duel is a stand alone set and suggests it's highly unlikely they will go down the modular pathway, as cool as that may be. Personally I would love a UCS Death Star hangar but that ain't going to happen due to sheer scale.
  18. I'm not sure if you are serious but a non-spherical Death Star...really? We've already seen the "icy" reception the 'modular' Hoth UCS set has received. The last Death Star was one of TLGs best sellers, I wouldn't expect them to deviate too much from a winning formula.
  19. Yes. So many potential uses for that sticker; one of the few highlights of the set.
  20. The landscape has changed since the release of the earlier UCS sets. I would strongly suggest that if a new Falcon, Star Destroyer, Y-wing or Blockage Runner were released poor sales would not be an issue. That's based on the assumption that the sets were actually any good but I have faith they would not screw those up. I think TLG will continue to intersperse UCS playsets with 'display' models. Incidentally the recommended ages for the Assault on Hoth, Ewok Village and Sandcrawler are 12+, 12+ and 14+ respectively so the target demographic for UCS-style playsets is not that young.
  21. Are you buying them from Lego Bricks and pieces? They are selling them in white for $0.67 AUD which would be less than $0.50 USD. Yes, it's still expensive but far less than Bricklink prices which are 3x-6x more expensive in quantity!
  22. This made me laugh. I'm sure you meant Hondo but I'd much prefer a new car or motorbike too!
  23. Nice work on getting the curve of the main building. It definitely needs more contrasting color to break up the tan but some "detailing" as you say should fix that.
  24. Yes it would have made sense for a UCS set aimed at AFOLs. But that is where the problem lies; its clearly a mega playset for kids and I think they are going to have a hard time selling it to parents at this price as it is! Maybe they should have released it towards the Christmas buying period and released an actual UCS set for the April/May period; traditionally when many adult SW Lego fans make big purchases to take advantage of the May 4th promotion.
  25. This is awesome! For anyone who doesn't know the subjects of this vignette Graham and Bert are pioneers of entertainment in Australia, particularly radio and television. Graham had a wicked sense of humor and would often cross the boundaries of what was considered acceptable at the time, much to chagrin of studio bosses and sponsors. But it was that Aussie larrikin 'devil may care' attitude that the public adored. I love all your MOCs, there is an authenticity and sense of nostalgia to them, but this one is special. Even the classic Lego hairpiece is perfect as Graham and Bert both had perfect Lego hairstyles at that time! Thanks for sharing. I supported you on Ideas.
