The box size is the same as Ewok Village, rrp is the same and the weight is very similar. Assuming it is Echo base we can deduce the piece count is probably going to be very similar (around 1900) and I would assume a fairly high number of minifigs. Ewok village was a winner so I would not be surprised if the brief was "make another Ewok Village" but with snow, no trees and no Ewoks!

[REVIEW] 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium
Markalus replied to Bricks Planet's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I always thought the UCS version, which is probably twice the size of this one, was minifig scale? Nice video by the way Bricks Planet. What is going on with the printing on Rebel Trooper 2's face though? I guess it's suppose to be facial hair but it looks he has some weird shriveled up aging thing going on.- 10 replies

Jar Jar wages war on Ewoks (Parody Brick Comic)
Markalus replied to BrickSev's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
HI BrickSev, No problem, I'm glad I could make you happy : ) I don't have any further info for you unfortunately but I think your work could be a good fit for either Bricks or Brick Culture, two very high quality sister publications (print and online) from the UK that started this year I think. If I were you I would contact the publishers to see if they are interested in your work. I don't know if we are allowed to link but if you search <BricksCulture> on Facebook you will find their page. Cheers.- 6 replies

Jar Jar wages war on Ewoks (Parody Brick Comic)
Markalus replied to BrickSev's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
Fantastic work! Jar Jar may be despised by most but he has given the internet so many lols. I can appreciate the work you have put into this. Do you have any plans for publishing future comics in print media? I would contact several of the Lego enthusiast print mags. I can see (smaller versions of) your comics would be a perfect regular feature in something like Brick Culture.- 6 replies

Yep, same here. All are either available now or temporarily out of stock with an ETA. I joked about "Barry" pressing the wrong button before going home for the day but given this anomaly it now seems more likely! Crisis averted.
-
Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer is notable amongst sets from multiple lines that are also listed as sold out. I really do hope this is temporary and not a sign that TLG is rationalising European distribution.
-
Good point. The Parisian Restaurant seemed highly unlikely but I didn't realize Kwik-E-Mart had sold out too. It's also very weird that all these highly sought after sets all appear as sold out on the same day! I guess 'sold out' doesn't mean what it use to in Lego speak...or Barry in IT just hit the wrong key before going home for the day.

It's been discussed a few pages back in this thread but these stolen minifigs have most likely come from the Lego factory in Mexico. The Ebayer seller in question is located in Texas ie. across the border from Mexico so I don't think it is too much of a stretch to speculate where he/she got them from.
-
I don't know if it's just a glitch but the European and Australian Lego shop@home websites are all showing these sets as "sold out"! Surely they haven't retired them all at once? Death Star too.
-
Based on minifigs alone the First Order Transporter excites me the most. I just hope the transporter itself is interesting!

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Markalus replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It is sold out on Lego shop@home and according to the guys on brickshow it has retired. But why would you buy a $300+ set if you haven't even seen Star Wars and therefore "don't know how iconic it is or if you would be a fan"? Reseller perhaps trying to gauge the market? -
I think the orange & black color scheme on the X-wing will grow on me...very reminiscent of JEK-14's star fighter as others have pointed out. It's interesting that the box art on the Falcon shows Rey and Finn piloting it and not Han & Chewie. I know the original cast members are only suppose to be playing a 'support' role so I guess it makes sense. I suspect with the hype of Ep.VII and the exponential growth in the popularity of Lego retailers will struggle to keep up with demand for the new Star Wars sets!
-
Wow! I'm not into Ninjago but that is stunning. I think it's pretty clear TLG are trying to capture a wider fan base with this one. This will become a classic.
-
Agreed. I was starting to think the rumoured 2015 Echo Base was not going to be realized but the video is tantalizing! It would be ridiculous if they 'wasted' parts by including another snowspeeder when there is one still available separately.
-
A reputable Australian Lego blog, Bricking Around, recently reported that an email query to Lego received the following response "Due to a strategic decision currently no new LEGO Ultra Agents sets are planned to be released in the European market (which includes AU)." It's a shame that we will never see Ocean HQ released here.

I love your work! May I ask what stickers you use or when you source them from? They look so professional and really enhance your MOCs.
-
It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I don't think we can pay much too much attention to past history of UCS releases to gauge when TLG wil release another. Demand, and subsequently supply, of Lego seems to be growing exponentially. They just released 55 or so sets in the latest wave and with the release of so much tie-in content such as Dimensions, Worlds, Lego movie sequel/spin-offs, and of course TFA, demand and supply will invariably increase. This will also bring more AFOLs into the mix, the typical demographic for expensive UCS purchases. Financially speaking, I too would be happy if there was no more UCS sets released this year!
-
Very cool, I like the concept.TLG should take note and combine two of their most successful lines. A modular series based on Mos Eisley would be amazing! Both official releases of the Cantina have been underwhelming and there is such a wealth of potential in the most wretched hive of scum and villainy.
-
I'm curious that this appears to be a "leaked" blurry image, the kind that would get you into a lot of trouble at other companies, yet Stephen from Brickshow is reporting this on his YouTube news channel. I thought Brickshow had a working relationship with TLG, given they often get sets to review pre public release. Doesn't that seem like a conflict of interest? Unless of course the "leak" was sanctioned.

[LDD][MOC][Micro] B-Wing - X-wing - Y-Wing - Millennium Falcon
Markalus replied to samlr's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I love these, awesome work. The red and yellow color cues on the X-wing and Y-wing respectively are subtle and well integrated. -
It looks like a Doberman that's had its ears clipped. At least we are getting some teasers but bring on the Hero lead ship/s I say.
-
I think the real question is not will TLG release Rogue One sets but will there be space left on shelves for OT and PT sets in the foreseeable future once Ep7, Rogue One and all future Disney owned IP is released? I certainly hope so but given a lot of the vehicles will probably be similar or variants of OT ships then I imagine a lot of the sets will look like re-releases but with new minifigs. I'm still hopeful we will get UCS-style treatment on some of OT play sets though..ie. Cloud City and the rumored Echo Base.

Bricklinking the UCS Falcon is one of those epic bucket list things that many Star Wars/Lego fans have, myself included. There is something almost spiritual about doing it from scratch and the challenge of making compromises where possible without spoiling the look, maybe even enhancing it with mods. It's one model where I actually think used and replacement parts suit the whole "bucket of bolts" theme. Maybe one day I will have the spare funds and time, but in the meantime I love a good UCS Falcon build log. Good luck!
-
It has to be the UCS Falcon for me, that is the one I covet. Of the ones I own, the UCS Imperial shuttle, it's so majestic on display and puts a smile on my face.
-
There seems to be universal praise for the Shuttle Tydirium but the thing that bothers me is the two "wings" of the trifoil are made from plates (with many exposed studs) whereas they have used SNOT on the top trifoil using bricks, slopes and technic. To me this looks odd, especially when viewed from front on and you look at the edges. And seeing a whole lot of the underside of plates when in landing mode...meh. I know it's probably a price and/or weight-stability "swoosh-ability" consideration given the target age range but aesthetically it's no UCS imperial shuttle.
