2016 Speed Champions Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I'm a bit excited about the F150 + hot rod! Happy Birthday lightningtiger -
Very nice! Classic 'Torpedo Boat Destroyer'. Is this WWII era?

Here is my 6 wide MOC 'inspired by' the old San Francisco taxis. I was particularly happy with the wheel solution - one of those 'Eureka moments' when all of a sudden you discover exactly the solution you need. ]

Cool! A better ferry then. Can't have too much public transport.

Love the original post. I'm a few years older so I missed the pirate theme before entering the dark ages. I've always loved ships though, so their is a Brick Bounty in the top shelf of the cupboard waiting for one of the kid's birthdays or Christmas....and when it finally disintegrates I intend to moc it into a proper ship with tumbledown as per the frigate tutorial somewhere here. You also raise some very good points about MISB. Lego pieces scratch very easily so I think it's worthwhile getting MISB or risk getting something assembled from pieces in their kid's lego bucket. For me though, I can barely justify the prices for new sets at discount let alone old MISB sets heavily marked up - and here lies the quandary: My Haunted House and Fire Brigade modular is starting to become worth far more than I would ever pay for it. Reason says I should sell them if I'm not prepared to pay the price they are worth. But I don't want to sell them. I want to build them, display them for a bit, then tear them down and sort them into my parts collection to make other stuff, then one day build them again, but maybe a bit different. I feel that the high prices makes it harder for me to enjoy it properly.

I don't see (or hope I don't see) a kids birthday party- type theme in friends. 'Girly' does not equal childish. I think TLG has somewhat taken on board criticisms of female stereotypes with more recent sets and a more childish sub theme in friends wouldn't make sense. A creator set yes, but not friends. I think it's far more likely it is a more adult-type party, perhaps similar to the current pop star sub-theme. I think the 'party styling' set supports this.

Awesome, simply stunning. My son finally got explorers on the moon last week we've had destination moon for ages. We read it together. Brought back so many memories. And now this!! Wow.

If it has tracks it will be interesting at any rate. I hope it has tracks....

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
dr_sarcophagus replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I think corner deli is more likely than amusement hall. If it's a corner building, there isn't much opportunity to reduce size and piece count for the exterior which reduce the designer's ability to do an overly intricate interior - necessary for an amusement hall. Plus they already have Lakeside Lodge as a small scale creator building in that wave. Have they ever released two small creator buildings in the same wave before? -
I just hope they come out with something soon! Preferably before fathers day,

Impressive! I like the interior particularly.

Great sub! Happy exploring.

Very nice, and beautifully detailed.

Awesome. Such a detailed interior. And the exterior represents well the architecture of the period. Well done!
