After seeing the second episode of the new series, I understand why the delay. Sunglasses for the alt face.

What differences are there from the pictures and the ideas submission?

Really good. Though you beat me to it! I have a streamline moderne corner gas station under construction. I love the checkered flag and red motif. Very striking.

Holiday train is Oct 13 - Nov 13. Looks like a nice little set!

That's really nice. Good inspiration

Thanks for the comments! It is fun to work in this scale. I like minifig scale as the inclusion of people bring the model to life, so its nice that microfigs give that option in a smaller scale.

I've had this up on flickr for a while, but haven't posted it to EB. This is inspired by the old wooden ferry boats that used to ply Sydney's inner harbour when I was a kid. My father was a harbour ferry master for a while, so I practically had the run of the whole ferry from the wheelhouse to the mess (not the engine room unescorted) from about age 7 to 10. My favourites were the few old small wooden ferries like the Caribee and the Karingal that were still operational in the early 80s.

Agree. I don't think it will happen before then as it will get drowned in the TFA frenzy. So the 19th! My birthday. It will be a nice present.

The suspense is killing me. Who would have thought the Dr Who reveal would be so much like the series?

What licensed themes would you like to see?

Doctor Who would be good.... -
My childhood Doctor was Tom Baker (with the scarf). I would love that as well - even though I was terrified of Doctor Who at the time. Loved the opening sequence, then had to turn it off.

There is a strong possibility that the re-release is instead of no release at all as has been discussed here. I agree wholeheartedly with the rest of your post. Plus, for the annoyed collectors here think about this: The re-release allows a whole new legion of newly emerged fans to get into the theme. All those other sets you bought since the original TS release have instantly increased in value and desirability to these new arrivals. This goes double if it is discontinued after this release. For myself, I was late to the theme and the last two sets have been very "meh" so I didn't get them. This one is different as it is a very nice set at a good price point.

A Matt Smith Doctor would be my fave. And I hope for brick built Daleks using common parts so I can easily build an army.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
dr_sarcophagus replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Yeah, some art deco buildings would be great. And very '30s. PC is a good start, but some proper neo gothic or streamline moderne would be fantastic. -
My bet is on a brick built Dalek. LEGO studs are just too perfect for Dalek knobs.

No worries Erol! Yes I agree for 1971 it's perfect. You could try binoculars for double headlights but fitting them in there would be a challenge.

Great shape! I especially like how the height differences between the front and rear windscreens are taken advantage of for the coke-bottle curve of the body. The only thing I would change is the grille. It doesn't really suggest the 'cuda which has more of a black mesh and is flat rather than pointed. I'd try two 1x2 black plates there. Perhaps with a minifig hand attached to the bumper for the 'split' trim in the centre of the grille. Edit: the minifig hand wouldnt work as it is angled. Maybe a claw?

This is the best, most architecturally sound variation I've seen. The others are good, but often have something about them which is not quite right, e.g. not quite suiting the style of the building or uneven window spacing without an obvious reason. This is what I would do if I had two of them.

OK :) I've got a corner gas station that need finishing first anyway. I'll see what the head mechanic has to say about it when it's completed .

Beautiful, you've captured the arts and crafts style very well. And you've managed the overlapping tile effect on the roof very well (particularly like the discoloured slate effect)

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Both suggest a victorian or edwardian style building.
