  1. It fits two. The passenger sits behind the driver.
  2. This. Which is why I'm building one of my own.
  3. I love the caption: Fairy Road. Brilliant.
  4. I heard a rumour that TLG had decided to finish the winter village theme and then changed their minds and re-released one of the better sets (and the one possibly best placed to stand on its own). Perhaps for people who had missed the launch of the theme. We might be lucky to be getting a WV at all! I've never been tempted by the WV theme before, but I will be getting this one. Not to add to, but as a standalone set. I'll make Advent calendar boxes and the kids can do the builds in the lead-up to Christmas. Then afterwards, packed away until next Christmas. It will be a family tradition!
  5. Oh! I see this has been moved to LEGO Town. Thanks mods (sorry for the mistake) .
  6. Oops! Sorry. I did have a look at some other mocs and I saw some which I didn't think were licences (e.g. Jurassic Park), but I went hunting after reading your post and found the forum discussions. So I agree, it should probably have gone in 'Special Themes'.
  7. The details are really good. I like how you've split up the studs and tile sections of the floor. And the black and white wall is fantastic!
  8. Pigeon? Rats?
  9. That's brilliant
  10. So the wait is nearly over. This has been almost the perfect reveal: initial excitement, a long wait, newer ideas sets being revealed and made, another, longer wait, some dimensions tid bits, some rumours, some solid rumours and now it really seems to be happening. If they did pre-orders I'd be signing up. There is no way I'm not buying this set after this much emotional investment.
  11. Wow! Thanks for the comments! This would have to be one of my favourite movies too. And the bluesmobile definitely shares the lead along with Joliet Jake and Elwood.
  12. It's not my idea, I saw it on Eurobricks somewhere. Can't remember where otherwise I would have credited the originator. Perfect solution for 6-wide. Now come to think of it I think I have seen yellow binoculars in a set....
  13. Thanks! It does have that 40s look to it. But with all the Cars references I'm starting to think that grille might make it a bit cartoonish. I think I might try it without.
  14. I'm going to go against the tide and say I much prefer the shorter version. Overall better proportions. Looks great!
  15. Blue Power Jet is built for two minifigs. I've built a 6 wide fuel truck and mobile stairs for mine and I reckon the scale is pretty good.
  16. Oh. Yyyeahhh! I loved it even before I clicked on it.
  17. Ferris wheel and fairground mixer for a bit of a diversion. Haunted House (still under $1K - not sure how long for though) Blue Power Jet coz it's awesome (though awesomer would be six blue power jets to make up the Air Force Of LEGOLAND (AFOL) aerobatics team.
  18. Awesome! Really good! Now you just need Donkey Kong running amok on the top floor.
  19. I'd like to see a gas station. I've been building so many cars for my modular street but they have all run out of gas. Some of them could also do with a service. I'm going to MOC an art deco corner gas station and have a bricklink order on the way with some pieces in mind, but on 32 x 32 it's not an easy proposition. Luckily I found a real example in my real-life town which is perfect. I haven't opened my DO yet (birthday is not til next month), but I've obviously read all the comments and seen the reviews, pictures and videos. I think it will look good and it will break up the somewhat monotonous façade of the other modulars when arranged together. The interior detailing I am fine with as I will probably convert it to open back in short order so I will be able to see it. But I do have a slight problem with the 'story'. Not so much the age at which the story is pitched, but more that there is a story. Good art allows the viewer to make their own interpretation and 'connect the dots' - use their own imaginations, good lego sets do the same. But with such a detailed story the imagination is a bit stifled. DO doesn't leave much room for this. If it were someone's MOC, fine, but I almost see this as a bit of an indulgence on the designers part - almost as if they couldn't resist partially building it for you. I'd prefer to make up my own story. Of course, the story may have been intended to head off any criticism about including what is obviously a 'bar' (and an illegal one at that) in a toy. If that is the case, I'm happy to take the cookies - I get a bar. A story such as this also demands a detailed interior - stories happen inside. By that reasoning, the next set probably won't have a story (unless it's a medical marijuana dispensary or something)and won't need such a detailed interior either. Only the release of the next set will tell.
  20. Thanks all! Though that front wedge is not old. It (and lots of other useful parts) can be found in 31029 cargo heli
  21. Hi! Here is my 6 wide bluesmobile - the classic 1974 Dodge Monaco police cruiser. 1974 was a good year. I was born!
  22. The closest TRU store to me is several hundred km away including a substantial body of water. This is going to be one expensive set if its an exclusive.
  23. About $AUD90 I seem to recall lightningtiger. Yep, see above. $USD59, so about $90 strayan.
