Nice one, however "ugly" that ship is irl (I am more of the ocean-going VLCC vessels type myself) I am sure I have spotted some of your builds at an SMM exhibition or two at Hamburg, carried over by some of your clients so I am guessing your builds are rigid enough . Now off to the LPG craze friend (although I am curious as to how one can depict the round tanks in scale and look reasonably good). Anyway, keep up the great work!

[COR - Class 4 - Micro] The Marlinspike

A very good technique for micro ships! She looks sleek (especially the hull) despite her size! -
Just wow, wow and wow!!! Easily one of your best ships! The broadside effect and minifig choices are movie-quality too!

Let's call it a "Liberty" class ship. It's successful at what it is destined to do! -

A perfect build! The cannons, the wall, the base, they all look great! I actually like the first "civilian" pic the most as it feels more colorfully "diversified" with nice contrasting colors. Officer torsos also work well in the other pics as well. -

A nice, solid build with a perfect body shape of the vessel. And ofc the more minifigs, the better! Only thing i am not totally convinced is the height of the mast as it appears too long in my eyes, for a gunboat that is (though I might definitely be totally wrong on this as it might as well be perfectly scaled down from real life gunboats). There must be an empirical canon regarding length of a ship and height of her masts but I don't quite know if and where to find it.

Hehe, thanks for the honored mention there Bodi! Nice pics and well buit shores, rockwork/ramshackle building (sporting the OL flag nevertheless!!) and ofc the ship! Now let's start counting those coins!!!

You once again outdid yourself Seb! I especially like the brick built painted walls and the big sloped corners of the temple. Also so jealous about your Brickmania Antwerp ship-guys! Some day, some day I will visit too!

So envy that you are going to the "big-pirate ship-expo" If you are keeping the tan ground, then white dust is the color to go. If you don't include tan ground, then tan dust looks more appropriate imo (especially vs the white clouds/blue sky combo).

Nice road and buildings. And ofc one can never go wrong with throngs of minifigs!!! -
Great vignettes with interesting parts! 3rd and 4th pics (and parts) are the ones I like the most (especially hand cannons )!
-
Those builds!!!! The "dust" effect coming from the wheels is epic and so is the background with those cute little clouds!

I believe it's due to the fact that the past examples/mocs have shown us that one needs to use brick-built hulls for a better looking small/medium ship (or at least I personally haven't seen an outstanding one, from our master builders around here yet, using a prefab hull)

[COR-FB] Fort Princeton, Brickford Landing
blackdeathgr replied to evancelt's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
a) My favorite part is definitely the entrance. This is really, and I mean really, well made! b) The tower has a lovely Moroccan style that blends in well with the rest of the building but I am not sure about the roof colors as I personally think it doesn't fit. Maybe a plain "classic-feel" red one would be a better match? I don't know. c) My least favorite part is the red flag. Tear it down and put a blue one at its place! Vauban fortifications are lovely! DO try wall creeping vines I would say! Foliage (besides greebling) is always a good idea to spice up a wall. Also a good way to continue building "sloped" sideways at the edges of the facade is this (rudimentary step 2 here), as LEGO pieces geometry helps complementing sloped bricks with each other. Surely not my idea (I just did a little tutorial for my LUG years ago) but I don't remember where I saw it for the first time. -

Interesting technique with the printed cloths being really well made! The last two photos (with and sans roof) are the best imo!
