Just WoW! Reporting for duty...

The carriages are indeed flimsy at the actual canon joints. Even newer ones tends to break easily, or whiten and become ready to break... That's why i got many canons but not enough carriages. Maybe they introduce a cheap set including a fully fledged canon (with wheels, not rotating base) like back at 2009. With all these said, all war ships must be equiped with as many canons as possible. In real war ships there were as many as 50-60-70 at any given time.

We should create a fundraiser so that you could really build one of your ships with real bricks! My thoughts exactly!!! Start kickstarter fundraising campaign!! This ship (and all the ones before this) NEED to be built! I must also admit you are a man of patience...This LDD program is giving me pain. WHY CANT IT HAVE AUTOCAD FUNCTIONALITY?? Great job nevertheless!

This is really really good! Excellent colours and marine life.

1. 6239 Cannon Battle vs. 70409 Shipwreck Defense I would choose 6239 because smaller sets are destined to be army builders (along with impulse sets). It is a pity though that the cannon doesn't have normal short wheels. Judging them plainly from their looks, the new set looks better though (and costs a lot more too) 2. 6241 Loot Island vs. 70411 Treasure Island Close call indeed. Both sets have interesting minifigs and 6241 has a nice baseplate. Cant go wrong with more pieces though, so i choose 70411. 3. 6242 Soldier's Fort & 6240 Kraken Attackin' vs. 70412 Soldiers Fort & 70410 Soldiers Outpost 6242 feels more solid and their combo has more minifigs (including THE monkey) but the 2015 combo has more pieces and no panels. That alone makes building more fun. I would call it a draw to be honest. 4. 6243 Brickbeard's Bounty vs. 70413 The Brick Bounty 6243 is the ship to choose. More interesting minifigs, waaaay better colours, better animals, the net, cannon hatches dont fully close on 70413 (see review). 5. Chess 2009 vs. Chess 2015 Since i would have bought chess for its minifigs i would guess 2009 beats 2015 one. The new pirate chess feels disappointing. In no military army (not even in chess) would a soldier be a soldier without a hat. ANY kind of hat. Plus we got monkeys and more minifigs too. Hands down 2009 chess for me Final conclusions: The lack of a monkey in the 2015 line is disturbing. The lack of wheeled cannons and proper money (chromed or no) is annoying and so is the number of new pirates sets. Furthermore nothing compares with 6253 which is one of the most beautiful sets in 2009 along with the ship of course. Finally, I hope they add impulse sets, but with the CMF series bursting out there i wouldn't count on that. What i AM expecting though is the addition of a well missed pirate calendar and a pirate TIC-TAC-TOE or some kind of battlepack... All in all having bought most of 2015 line, I prefer the 2009 pirate line to be honest as the 2015 feels incomplete at the moment. Thanks for putting up with my thoughts

Interesting choice of colours. I will experiment with brown+gray+black and see how it goes. Hopefully it wont end up like a castle in the sea :P Nice crew too btw

I am thinking about transforming 10210 into a huge trading ship, since we have few around in these waters and apart from adding many barrels, life boats, swivel guns, further improving captain's cabin and stuff, i would like some neutral trading crew ideas, pictures or just descriptions of torsos and stuff. Since i have never opened a topic here, feel free to alter its name if you feel it needs changing. Thanks for your help beforehand.

For quite some time in my childhood i also used to point flags looking at ships' and castles' rear sides. It was against physics when on sailing ships but i don't know, they looked nicer in my childish eyes :P

Nice rebuild! Strangely i like the big barrel there (apart from the old monkey which is a must on every pirate ship)! I don't know, maybe i have a thing with big (wine) barrels and i am planning of transforming 10210 imperial flagship to an imperial trading ship with many big and small barrels inside it. I will even put 4-6 black stud shooters as swivel guns at its deck and will subtract some canons. I will also post it when it is ready :-)

Really nice! Almost the same! You could also circumvent the original sails and go for simple canvas ones (since the originals cost much). Imo though buying the ship (even nisb) will pay its money any time you decide to sell it even in used condition in a few years ;-) It's a classic after all.

Nice idea for a 3rd nation army (besides bluecoats and redcoats that is)! Or maybe personal bodyguards of a wealthy Duke? Or just hirelings? :-) Keep building pirates! Our time has come! Just give us wheels on the new canons and different colored epaulettes (other than white) and we can rule the world just like we did at 2010-11 P.S: Gunmetal bayonettes FTW!
