Great mocs composing a great scene from one of my favorite movies! Smart techniques all around but I think the birds are the best!

[OL - TROOP] Armée de l'Orient, Jiangkai
blackdeathgr replied to Khorne's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
both civilians and soldiers are really great! And I definitely wouldn't mind being the beggar myself seeing people is tossing him golden coins!!! -
"Oups I did it again" !

Wow! Building such a substantial part of a ship for just a pic shows dedication to the cause! And OK, tumblehome may not be ideal, but I really like the deck and the overall build still stands out due to colors, size and significant effort! I agree Clever!!!

Nice one! You nailed the water effect too. Simple but totally effective. Welcome to El Oleonda (again) sir!

[OL - FB] Homestead - Fort Arltrees
blackdeathgr replied to CapOnBOBS's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice half timbered style house and stables! -
Your azure use is the best yet in BOBS for as far as I remember. A really tough color and not that "manly" . Of course Barracuda Bay changed my mind, still I consider it a really difficult color to use other than sea/water. I can't recognize those dark blue parts at the sides of the arch (are those what you called minifig stands?), still they are very impressive! Nice minifig parts too!

Yay! Nice house totally the style of NO. And these underwater details really elevates the moc quality! -

I completely agree! However nice they are (not speaking about decals which I dislike), I, too, find non-LEGO elements a bit too over-detailed for my taste

[MOC/WIP] Medieval castle and historic city of Thun
blackdeathgr replied to victorycount's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
AMAZING!!! You not only managed to get the medieval city "feeling" but you've added tons of details as well. I've wanted to make something like this for my birthplace (Heraklion) with its Venetian walls etc but never got the guts to actually try it even in microscale, let alone build something the size like this! I am curious as to how many hours the whole endeavor took you and how many pc crashes stud.io enabled. However the case, less crashes than in LDD i suppose... All in all a most impressive work (of art) ! Its a pity one cannot realize it in brick given the elements costs. -
Not sure about the flat lid chest but the mini-skeleton head would look outstanding as a knob on a walking cane/cursing stick Also @Jiesdeo You chose my new favorite LEGO animal as your avatar pic!!!

[COR-FB] An Odorific Homecoming
blackdeathgr replied to evancelt's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent log cabin!!! I believe thick logs work better than the 1x1 round ones. Also the roof while colourful doesn't distracts and your (constant) experimenting - speaking about the base - by using two different techniques is nice and refreshing I would say. Only thing that I find distracting (and this is nitpicking) is the curved pieces being black, although I don't remember having seen those pieces in earthen tones that could match the surroundings better imo... -

[U7 - Lothal - FF] Setting of the Cold Sun
blackdeathgr replied to starwarcam's topic in Factions: A Galaxy Divided Archives
Rockwork, ground, the building and minifig stance are all great. The spaceship too. Only thing I am not that fond is the technic pieces used to elevate the spaceship as by being black and bulky, they distracts from the whole moc. I believe trans clear pieces (i.e. 2x1 bricks or columns) would be best as a presentation. -
Excellent! The stone to wood ratio is spot on I would say and so are the wooden wolf heads protruding from the roof (great NPU)!

[MOC] New Falcon Tower (3in1 Creator Tower re-imagined)
blackdeathgr replied to Ayrlego's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I am glad you saw the OL (blue and white) way. The only way! Because you see, these are no mere Falcons. They are the forefathers of bluecoats (at least in my 10-year-self book) Creator Castle colors are definitely a sight to behold (reddish brown, yellow and dark blue really complement each other well) and so is your interpretation! Regarding DUPLO usage, did someone catch bad habits from a certain other forum dweller ??? I am definitely seeing a really good (DUPLO) cover up though!!! -
Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
blackdeathgr replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I would check the Ninjago 70608 's bulky one with smaller diameter though (by replacing the top and bottom reddish brown pieces) and definitely another colour (full black works I guess) -

Nice build and presentation! I especially like the two layered idea (above and below surface)! Minifig choice is once again top notch!
