Oleon: Sign-up and Discussion, Era II

May the sword of the gods (the one I see on the right - excellent minifig btw) be bathed in the blood of the heathens and all the riches of the world end upon the new Bishop!! (Then some more wishes for his longevity follow etc etc) And now a good old toast! -

Really great first build with nice assortment of minifigs and crates etc. That canon and palm tree are great too! I am not that fan of fleshies myself as I abstain from plucking minifig hands right and left, but strangely enough your fleshies give another more realistic vibe to this build! Keep up the great job!- 15 replies

Ask @Ross Fisher. He seems like a religious guy! Plus, one can make a vignette with a library where all those saints and their lives can (liberally) be found! In short, there was never such a list to my knowing but I believe the Order of Faith is open to canonizing people left and right (given a suitable donation ) -
What if there was also a Pirate wave? Indiana Jones was good (amazing LEGO sets as well) up to the point where the story reached the cold war. Then there is chaos. While one cannot go wrong with Classic Pirates as they firmly stay put around the Age of Sails!

Another beautiful bridge! But...but...carronades? I mean we are here to trade, not act as cannon fodder! Pfffff! Nonetheless, your crossing is really well made despite being somewhat "ominous" and "aggressive"!!! Beautiful details all around the walls (especially those tan quarter tiles paired with the red(?) tile beneath), a really nice carriage design (although some touches of a secondary color could make it really shine) and very interesting lamp posts too.- 8 replies

[OL- CH IV - CAT D] Center-River Trading Zone
blackdeathgr replied to KotZ's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I really like its size (somehow it feels so "right" and minifig scale accurate) , the fact that you've added that sand+water base underneath gives plenty of character and the the various little shops/tents at the sides of the crossing are amazing! Easily my favorite river crossing around!!! -
[OL - FB] Nouveau Oleandia Dock and Lighthouse
blackdeathgr replied to KotZ's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Beautiful and serene scenery (despite "our boys", the soldiers having guns and all) Only minor thing I find distracting is the plain facades of the buildings (albeit for using different roof techniques) as I would prefer them to have at least a rudimentary 4-studs-length wall on their sides. Nothing fancy, just bricks. Still, the focus of the build is the lighthouse and in that respect, I absolutely love it! Points for having a hatch too - not many brick-built lighthouse encompass one! -

blackdeathgr replied to Thomas Waagenaar's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@Thomas Waagenaar @Bregir @KotZSeconded! Check point love is everywhere with your builds guys! Plus you've legitimately added another type of building for BOBS dwellers and builders to look upon and try to come up with their own versions! You see seagulls, I see flying (digital) dollars thinking how much do seagulls cost these days!!! -

The magic keeps coming! Best customs house ever! Those towers! And while I am not fully sold on the pivoting part of your nevertheless amazingly designed bridge, I can't wait to see more pics of the whole process. -

Esian lore is a great addition to BOBS universe and this building is particularly effective as I've already told you. The crest is extraordinary and so are the minifigs and the overall details of this building! Thanks for the gloomy photo too. Even if it doesnt fit your moc description as you said, it surely adds to the vibe you want to communicate! Gray background really elevates your colour choices too. -
Brick built boat is very nice with many details for its size (extra points for the rudder!) and so is the minifig posing with the slope/dress!

[COR - ChIVE] ETTC Villa, Terraversan Interior
blackdeathgr replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Flora is great, combination of snot and regular baseplate is seamless, buildings are beautiful! Overall another great entry in BOBS by a master! -
Points for trying new techniques but the backpack one is a bit lacking texture-wise and so is the shield wall imo (as I find those "stones" too big). Again, purely personal thoughts). By seeing your work, I DO however thought of an alternative, using reddish brown ingots. Maybe they are cool enough (and chocolate-y ) The boat pieces look viking-er" than pirate-y but their use is very smart and that could definitely work as a fishing shack or whatever you decide in BOBS universe. What I would really like to see in the future is the "thatched" roof technique using muskets as it looks interesting!

One of the best ships build from a prefab boat I've seen for quite some time! Can we see the stern in a photo or two? Have you elongated the hull somehow out of the back cut out hole of the prefab or does it really "end" right at the stern of your boat? On another note, I've been itching to get such a "big" boat for myself for quite some time to experiment, but besides rarity, BL prices fluctuated for quite some time on its various colours (plus I've forgotten it by now). I believe "adventures" theme (in the jungle) also had one or two such prefabs.
