[Esl - ChIV - Cat A] Repairing the watchtower
blackdeathgr replied to Tezclatipoca's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice one old pal! Always happy to see your apple flag hoisted! -
Nice baseplate (as usual) especially the muddy part and I envy that non firing cannon. I really disliked them when younger but the more I grow older, the more I come to appreciate it. Is it just me or those white shakos beg to be painted?

Divine build! I can't seriously find a single thing I don't like! And you make the whole build look so effortless from your part. Every time! Bipod mussel? Is that really a thing?? Come join Oleon people! Scientific progress through religion, Religion through scientific progress! Well, almost!

And finally those useless and ugly golden grilles find their position in the world! Excellent Ideas and techniques (flag, stuff on the fireplace, wall etc)

4. No horse eating!!! I would say no to both examples... Especially the first example is too far off imo -
Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion, Era II

Hey, welcome! You can always place your MOC chronologically in the "not-so-ancient history", back at Juniper war or any relevant past war between OL and COR. -
Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
blackdeathgr replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I would say we tend to depict technology that has been readily available and has been applied up to the years following Napoleonic Wars, early 19th century that is. Ofc you can depict other "experimental" technologies that don't affect or cause major breakthrough regarding balance of power between factions. Corliss engine itself is a nice example of experimental technology that for example Corries could produce. All in all, the great thing about BoBS is that it encompass a long range of time and space (Some of us tend to focus more on 16th-17th century, others more on 18th etc), so one can be fairly creative, without "breaking" the game. -

Keep up the great work! Even if only one of your really well designed minifigs reach realization, it would be a day of joy! -
Nice build! I am not sure about the elliptical base but the gradient looks absolutely great!!!

Nice use of that new torso! Ninjago rule btw!

Sea Rats: Sign-up and Discussion, ERA II
blackdeathgr replied to dr_spock's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Welcome on board! I was always finding researching piracy "on the other ponds" of the world (besides Caribbean that is) fascinating so a Mokolei trader/pirate is spot on! Eat that Kaliphlin!!! Oh wait, this is from another story from another era! -
Besides those two torsos, it's an excellent minifig/part pack set, as it's always been with ninjago minifig-heavy sets. It's surprisedly affordable too especially considering other relevant options.
-
That ship! Oh that ship!!! Strip it and modify it into a more real life vessel. @2maxwell a little bit late to the party but regarding that ninjago torso, I like how similar us pirate lovers think! (Also the druid like character has an interesting torso for an islander-like minifig)

Besides building on my favourite theme (Pirate ships), you opted for my second best theme, cats (well something like that doesn't really exist but... You know). Can't wait to see the full diorama. -
