  1. <Na'im Thamir at your service. And fear not I have a plan Lady Bain> Na'im says in fenarian, holding up the Badge of the smokemaster so she can see it Na'im nods "I agre with Lady Miderun-If anyone here thinks the star elves will take kindly to another fenarian in there midst then they are mistaken! I tell you. I shall be strung up and tortured just like Lady Bain here (which I would rather avoid, If I am to be quite honest). Please, let us just get Bain down and begone!" " Na'im says nervously, glancing at Miderun for conformation "It seems to me that the star elves also have eyes on the nerkastone, but the treemaster and his minions do not want them to gain it, for fear of reigniting the war between the star elves and the Fenari-thus, he wants us to retireve the Nerkastone because he believes we will not use it for our own ends." says Na'im matter of factly as if it were all very obvious "People are very rarely like how you imagine them to be master Van Cleef" says Na'im sagely "There is no time master Mihank. If the gaurdians and the star elves get here, and we still wish to free Bain, who is to say shall be able to fight them off and still escape." says Na'im sadly shaking his head "It is as they say now or never-the time has come to choose whether you shall stand together with your friends and alies from heroica, or with a group of hostlie elves you know nothing of Maser Mihnak!" Na'im looks shocked "Why of course! You shall not find a fenarian anywhere who dose not know of their comon lord and ruler! Tis true though, that he is more of an isolationist than he used to be, and has little contact with the citizens of Fenario nowdays. Oh, and you should watch your language master Germ-it is quite vulgar" adds Na'im wrinkling his nose as if germ's words physically repulsed him "There are more important things out there than food master Germ." says Na'im in a knowing voice "This place is alive with magic! Why would you need food if you had the power of the Nerkastone in your hand? And what does one forest mater if you can regenerate an entire continent?"
  2. Brilliant work on those new character designs Sandy-one of my faviourate parts of heroica (back to the the times when I ghosted around these forums) has always been looking at the amazing figbarfs made by the QMs, namely by Sandy. I love how they each have their own unique bit of character but also seem to stick with the central themes of the player's character
  3. Na'im rolls his eyes <Yes of course we know of the mutual friendship between the forest creatures and the star eves-but we are in deep cover here now miss...? On that note how did you get caught anyway?> Na'im turns to the others and says quietly ot the others os that he may not be overheard "Our lady friend here claims to come on the orders of the most esteemed Supreme Leader and Lord, Angma Fenari, adonis moraira, and surely if we are to retrieve any of the nerkasotones that are still held by th Fenarians it would be prudent to have alies within Fenarian society. Thus I say we should let her down for now, and possibly her compariots too if we can reach them" "if the forest weakens so will lt's gaurdians" muses Na'im "It must be tough work looking after the forest in these difficult times my little friend" say Na'im addresing Inki "Nay master germ, I believe it is master Mihnak here who is having his loyalties tested" says Na'im, his voice dangerously soft as he gazes intently at Mihnak "If anyone will turn on the party and 'pull a Nalguz' as you put it will be him" Na'im waits to how Mihnak would react, a curious expression on his face "Oh no, master Germ, after spending so long below ground I appreciate the shade and cover provided by the forest more than most, I should think. I am...better in open spaces than I was when I was first ejected form Fenario, but I remain not entirely...comfortble around them to say the least" Na'im shivers "But surely the sheer wealth of goods we are extracting form the ground and the regenerative powers of the brown Nerkastone are proof positive that this place could be destined for greater things than playing host to a few trees?"
  4. Na'im listens to Elnaths description with interest "Who can blame the Fenarians really? There is a incredible amount of wealth hidden round here, in the flora and under the soil. Ah, think of the uses it could be put to in the right hands!" Na'im says eagerly "But here it is locked up in a pach of trees!" Na'im shakes his head in disblief Na'im smirks at the suspended Fenarian <why?> he says in impecable fenarain, and shakes his head <You'll have to do better than that my dear women!> how he loved having power over people-he hadn't had this fun in ages "That feline is becoming mildly iritating master Mihnak. Please tell it to be quiet." says Na'im in an irritable tone "What exactly dose it think she is going to do? She is suspended twenty feet up in a tree for goodness sake!" Na'im laughs though not unkindly "You are more intelligent than you look master Bobby, maybe I was wrong to put you down. But pray, who on Olegia came up with such a language in the first place? Well er..dog, with a bit of practise, we can have you speaking proper common in in time!" say Na'im excitedly, as if this would be a great acheivment
  5. "Do" says Na'im simply Na'im opens his mouth to say something and then closes it humour him he thinks "Very well then master Bobby" Na'im says, a wide smile playing upon his face "Why don't you start by teaching me a few phrases of yours-what is the meaning of this 'dog' and this term 'yo' that you use fequently-in common terms please."
  6. Na'im stares at Bobby for a few seconds "And what on earth is that supposed to mean? Is it simply too much effort for your little brain to adopt the common tounge like everyone else on Olegia? Even Lady Mideun here makes an effort! What makes you so differnt master Bobby?" Tis more complicated than that master Germ." says Na'im shaking his head "I have heard many theories, but the one thing they all have in common is that the energies released by the Nerkastones had an even more pronounced effect on the creatures that survived the initial destruction, which gave them strange powers and latered their apearances-much like it did to my peole." Upon hearing germs translation, Na'im sighs "It appears the naga have pocession of a least one of the Nerkastones then. I suppose we had better go after them. Master Mihnak, I seem to remember you saying on the Eyrie that your mechanical eye allowed you to see great distances. I don't suppose you would mind climbing onto the decking up here and seeing if you can see the fleeing Naga?" Na'im pauses to think a moment. He didn't dare mention his thourghts to the party, for he knew how they reacted to his plans, logical as they were. The forest was unatural, and seemingly hostile. If they returned the Nerkastone, they would just be giving it more power it already had, and who knew how it would react, especially to him after all the damge he had done? He simply wasn't prepared to relenquish the temporary power they had over it (after all it needed the party to track down the nerkastone, so they were stil useful to it) . But who to give it to if not to this mysterious treemaster? It was a difficult decision at any rate, but Na'im resolved to try to keep the nerkastone out of the hands of the forest creatures
  7. Groaning can be heard form inside the cabin as Na'im struggles to his feet after a fitful sleep, in what was clearly a very bad mood. The heroes can hear Na'im grumbling as water leaks into his boots all the way to the shoreline "Careful now master Germ, my people released many magical energies with the Nerkastones, upon Spelesia. Be wary and trust nothing you see here, for not everything is as it seems in Spelesia in these dark times. Some would even say the Babalethian deaklands are safer, for at least there you can reconise your enemies" Na'im say cautoiusly "This palce has been inhabited" Na'im notes, glancing up at the wooden decking in the canopy and looks for a way up. He also pokes the golden root near the Cub with his staff, and attempts to swat down one of the twinkling lights in the tree with the end of his staff Na'im jumps at least an inch as the wild cat appears from the undergrwoth "Are you mad Mihnak" hisses Na'im "How do you know we can trust this creature, since we have only just met it? Besides" adds Na'im "The star elves have been known to train wild cats to seve in their cause"
  8. Na'im frowns apparently deep in thourght "I sppose the logical option would be to leave somene with the ship to gaurd it, but as we are more likely to face danger on the mainland than on the ship, I am not entirely convinced by the wisdom of that descion." Na'im pauses "What dose our esteemed Party leader think we should do?" Na'im asks turning to Miderun, in an effort to deflect repsonsibility for the ship from himself Na'im dusts himself down and turns abruptly to his fellow heroes "Right, now I shall be taking a brief rest to restore some of the energy I expended in the pervious battle-I shall be awake before you know it" Na'im says briskly and departs to the cabin to rest in his bedroll
  9. I'm going to seek clarification about this, which came up in quest 136, and seems to be a pretty big failing of Clerics with regards to larger parites, and part of the wider debate about ether based healing and the rescently enlarged ether costs for ether based classes: If a cleric has insufficent ether to heal the entire party on a miriclae, dose nothing happen, and nobody get healed, which is technically waste of a round for a cleric because they don't get thier heal or the hit on their target-Personally I don't think players should punished for rolling 6's, and at least some healing should done, perhaps working down the battle order? I'm goin to ask all QMs waht is the ruling on this?
  10. Na'im laughs at Polly's geographical ignorace "That Lady Polly would be Spelesia, home of the star elves-and the Fenari of old of course. The north coast I imagine master Van Cleef?" Na'im inquuires "Ah, it has been any long years since I last walked on Spelesian soil. One forgets quite how beautiful the land is..." Na'im muses "What are we not even going to have a rest before we leave?" Na'im grumles, as Elnath annouces their arrival "I do not know about you mater Van Cleef but I ache all over and I do not feel I could heal another bruise". Despite this, Na'im heals himself, Mihnak, Germ, Bobby, Kiray and Elnath to full health Na'im frowns at the Lannisters "Are you sure you will be able to look after yourselves my friends? I wouldn't put it past the Naga to pay the ship a visit-in fact I would think it to be the first place they would stop, if they are indeed onto our tail."
  11. OOC: I didn't think you had to have enough ether to heal the whole party to use miricale-I thourght it worked down the battle order in terms of healing priority and left out those near the end if I say didn't have the required ether Na'im repeats his action
  12. "Oh and what if you lost Polly here? Or one of the Lannisters? All because Lady Miderun vanished into the depths on a hopeless and misguided venture" Na'im says nastily "Would you say the same to me then? We haven't won this battle yet master Van Cleef! Am I the only person round here whose mind is not clouded by their own feelings?" Na'im says angrily "The squid wont reamain inapacitated forever-I will help take it down." Na'im says shortly and hefting the Lucerna Beatus, attacks the mollusquid from the front row "Lady Miderun that is not the piont! What if we had all fallen fighting these merfolk, beause our party leader was not on hand to aid us? My piont is that it is unwise to waste manpower pursuing a lost cause, when there are still those that can be saved!" Na'im says in exaspartion "Heroes or not, my own neck comes first I should think!"
  13. OOC: OK, thats fine then Na'im rolls his eyes "You should learn to trust my ideas a little more Lady Nayasto. I do not need babysitting in battle after all." "Good riddance" says Na'im soflty "As if we need any more time and manpower wasted on fruitless expeditions in to the deeps" In a louder voice he addreses Miderun scathingly "How was your trip Lady Miderun? Did you find anything ah..useful? I presume you are ready to join us again in the actual fight?
  14. "Some things never change do they master Germ?" Na'im says with mock exasperation as he concentrates on healing Germ for what feels like the 10th time on his career as a hero "Ladies and gentlemen the squid is down! Feel free to give it everything you've got!" Na'im cries to his fellow heroes, glad to report some good news
  15. 33 credits to Bob please!
  16. Thanks Danny! Just how I assume many Octan corp employees see their job, with Octan being more law abiding than M.A.N.T.I.S and less secretive than kawashita. Nice to get such high praise from you a way, considering how you have been one of the major story drivers for Octan Also good to know the peacekeepers will be keeping up their good work
  17. Well good parts choice anyway then-it looks old enough to be in a fantesy set but at the same time kind of futuristic as well
  18. Na'im groans as Miderun goses under "What foolishness is this Miss Miderun? Have you completly lost your head? The fight is up here!" "Sometimes I wonder if it might be in our interests to loose such a women who think with her fists more than head. Perhaps then we might actually acheive something in this fight." Na'im murmurs softly so that nobody else could hear Na'im frowns as he fails once againin his scroll casting "Third times the charm that's what they say.." Na'im mutters as he repeats his action
  19. Thanks for the kind words guys! Yeah I plan to continue to make mainly micro builds for the rest of the game. Micro for the win!!
  20. Awesome work! I particuarly like the contrast between the alien landscape and the smooth lines if the Octan base
  21. Really nice sub-also, where is the (bionicle?) helmet you uses from?
  22. With reports of M.A.N.T.I.S special forces launching a series of attacks on Octan operations and instillations all across the sector, the Octan board of directors has decided to take the initative and have reassigned Ensign Claudius' team to Jurin II to begin overseeing the contstruction of a series of strategically positioned outposts, along major supply routes in the Jungles of Jurin II, to give Octan emlployees a measure of security Here, Ensin Claudius crews an Octan heavy lifting device©, outfited with an ecavator bucket attachment begins excavating the foundations for the outpost barracks while two Octan sonar watchtowers crewed by Dr. Longs new peacekeeping force keep an eye out for pesky M.A.N.T.I.S intruders The Octan employees will be protected by a powerful neutrino-beam charger fence, which is effective aginst most unshielded mechs and land-based veichles. You can also see the dampening equipment at the end of each fence section and the neutrino reactor in the foreground. On the left are the remains of a once grand jungle, razed by Octan advance forces to provide room for their new fortress. Regretable work, but necessary to keep Andromeneda in lawful hands! Octan will gain control of Jurin II yet-all hail Lord buisness! Notes: This was a fun little build and also my first with a (albiet simple) border-I'll let you guys judge how it came out, but I really think borders add something to small builds. Most of my builds start with a theme and here it was how the corporations actions are destroying the enviroment of Andromneda, in their rush to aquire resources (a bit like my challenge build that I regretably didn't have time to post) . Consequently, in the build itself I tried to make a contrast between the clean lines of the octan outpost and the chaoitc nature of the jungle. As ever C&C welcome Danny, I hope you don't mind my use of your troops in the story-should probaly have asked!
  23. "Inevitable master Octavus? One of your allies has already fallen, and we are only just getting started!" Na'im grins at the mermen warlord "do you still claim to have the upper hand my friend?" Na'im asks innocently Na'im repeats his action
  24. "I wouldn't be so sure master Octavus. It was a foolish choice to make the first move, as you seem to have antagonised my fellow companions. We are heroes of Heroica, and although I cannot claim to much, some of our number present here have fought dragons and bandit cheifs, crime lords and beasts of the void. You should have known better than to challenge us, master Octavus, no matter the size of your army." Na'im says his voice calm and steady "Besides you shall never have the power to wield the nerkastones energies master Octavus-look upon my visage and see what it did to the one of the eldest and learned races of them all!" Na'im throws his arms open grandly
