  1. "You go too far master Mihnak" growls Na'im quielty, going over to stand by Miderun "Power hungry are we for defending our liege-lords claim to the throne against a corrupt and dystopic government? What makes us so different from our brothers the Alpeith and why do you seem more inclined to trust them than me, a member of your own order, who happens to have been bad-mouthed on account of his race? These star elves have been spoon fed proporganda since birth, telling them of the heresy of the Fenarains and the apparent arocities they have commited. I do not claim that what they say is entirely wrong, but only that it is part of a larger truth and I would prefer it if you didn't fall into the trap of taking their honeyed words at surface value" "All this quest you have ben a loose cannon master Minhak" continues Na'im, every word of his emphasised like a hammer blow "First with the guardians and now here with the star elves. It is high time you chose where your loyalties stand-with the party, or with the enemy Latte Oswain who has already shown his true colours." Na'im then goses round and checks if any of the star elves are still alive and if any are, Na'im expends ether healing them untill their condition stabilises Na'im feels a rare rush of gratitude towards Miderun "...Thank you for defending my people Lady Miderun" he says uncertinaly with a small bow "...It is true we Fenari have always counted the Orcs among our friends. Indeed Clan Irlaz...or what was clan Irlaz in those days-fought alongside our warriors in the schism, but now because we are no longer fair and graceful like the star elves I fear many see us as the villians. Now on with the division of loot?" says Na'im raising an eyebrow, begining to sound like his old self once more "Because master Mihnak, Lady Miderun has a job and a contract and she sticks with it-something you seem incapable of doing youself." says Na'im cooly. He pauses for a second and cleans his spectacles absentmindedly on a spotless hankerchief he produces from his pocket "I do not understand you these days master Mihnak. Back in Eubric with the red asassains buisness, you behaved rationally but now you seem pardoxially attached to a cause you have only recently learnt existed, and people you have only just met-why?"
  2. "General Oswain must be very...confident of his abilities then, if he thinks he can take on six heroes of heroica, a highly proficient Fenarian assassin and one of the more learned sorcerers of this generation and still have a chance of prevailing." Na'im says cooly but he still sounds somewhat uncertain "Can you not just slip past his defences and slit the majors throat lady Bain?" Says Na'im desperately Na'im repeats his action OOC: Shouldn't El-Aquist be on 140 health after Mihnaks attack?
  3. "Then you die forgotten Major. You have won nothing here. Soon, the only thing you shall be remembered by is the spoils we shall take from your corpse. A pitiful existence wouldn't you say? But we heroes shall always be at the forefront of history, and out names shall live on forever. Goodbye major El-Aquist." Says Na'im softly Na'im gives Germ an expresion of mock disapproval "Come now master Germ, are you insulting our dear friend major El-Aquist's subtle tounge? After all, it is only 'wisdom' that spurts from his mouth!" Na'im says with a nasty laugh Na'im casts sealed at major El-Aquist from the back row
  4. "Incompetents..." Na'im mutters, upon seeing that no one else had managed to damage the major Na'im attacks major El-Aquist from the back row
  5. "We have every right to challenge the ruling of a corrupt council of nobles that was in the Alpieth's pocket from the day it first met! And you have said it yourself-out in the wilds of Spelesia words are just that-words. There comes a time when you must take matters into your own hands, and that is what Retak Ysp did! He would gave succeeded too, if it wasn't for Heroica's change of heart! But enough talk-This ends here major Eludio-Vuentei! Any last requests?" Na'im cries challengingly but his panic still shows through "Everybody take cover!" He shouts, as he puts all his hopes in Dain Almights haphazard technology Na'im throws a Gaia bomb from the back row "Kill the others, but try not to kill the spell weaver-I want him alive!" says Na'im anxiously to the rest of the party
  6. Na'im sighs dramatically "Fascinating I am sure, but maybe we could save this long awaited conversation of yours, untill we are all safe and well away from star elf lines master Mihnak?" Na'im smiles lazily "You're the boss my lady" he says mokingly "But alas, I feel much of the respect our fighters commanded amongst the Alpieth was lost the day we first set foot underground-it has been too long since they have seen what we Fenarains are truly capable of!" Na'im attacks Major El-Aqueist from the back row "Let us finish this major: Spell-weaver against spell-weaver as the timeless contest of ages dictates." "Destruction your kind wrought in the schism too major." Na'im corrects "Or are your kind too hypocritical to accept responsiblitity for their own actions in the war? The sacking of Mathi! The third battle of Krimwood! These were not the isolated actions of Fenarian seperatists but loyalist armies, who unleashed untold destruction in their zeal to exterminate all those who challenged the Alpieths apparent superioirty! Yet you still think your so called caretaking of the land makes up for all the destruction your kind wrought in the schism all those centuries ago? Pathetic." Na'im shakes his head at the major
  7. Na'im shrugs non-commitaly and repeats his action "Charmed." Says Na'im acidly, as he looks down rather disdainfully at his bit of sushi-clearly he wasn't such a big fan of seafood
  8. Na'im stares incredously at lady Miderun "Completly below my position I say! Have I not proved myself already in combat! Why, I am the best healer you have got lady Miderun, yet here I am chucking bones around at incompotent star elf spell casters, who struggle to heal even the smallest of scratches! If only my friends in the brotherthood of the red angel could see how low I had sunk, oh, what would they say?" Na'im rants, but he dose what he is told and throws a bone at Major El-aquiest form the back row "Besides lady Miderun, the Major's incantation seems to have dulled the healing effects of many of our consumables, so that won't work. Get master Germ here to attack someone else instead." Na'im says smugly
  9. "Maybe now isn't the best time to fret over what has happened master Germ" Na'im says breathing heavily "Save your undying apologies until we are in the clear, I think would be best" Na'im frowns and shakes the Lucerna Beatus trying to elicit some kind of response "That thrice blasted star elf seems to have put some kind of incantation down that prevents me from healing anyone in the party! Our position looks rather precarious to me lady Miderun." He adds as an after thourght Na'im attacks star elf phanalax mob B from the front row with the Lucerna Beatus
  10. "Very well Lady Miderun, but the major seems to know his stuff for sure, and I tell you, if I end having to play doctor to anyone else, I may have to start charging for my services!" Na'im says with a grin-it is impossible to tell whether he is serious or not
  11. Na'im swallows nervously at the combat prowess of Oswains lieutenants "Hold still now lady Nayasto-you are in no condition to fight like this!" Na'im exclaims Na'im heals Kiray from the back row (unless instructed otherwise)
  12. "It seems the Spelesian military has come a long way from the days when our archers made a game out of who could claim head-shots on the most star elves." Na'im observes "No matter. Master Germ, you look like you are about to keel over. Allow me to patch you up." Says Na'im in a patronising tone, as if he were a naughty schoolboy Na'im heals Germ from the back row
  13. "Well majors I see not what you want of us. It seems you leave us with no option but to draw swords upon you, for I have no desire to be a prisoner, but you show no inclination of letting us go with the man we seek. I regret it, but you have bought this upon yourselves you know." Na'im says spreading his arms in a gesture of innocence "Come, let us end this contest of words!" "Lady Miderun, I beg you show caution. The star elves clearly despise our prescense, yet they refuse to initiate a fight-surely there is a meaning for this? I know we cannot keep up the pretence of civility any longer, but let us at least be cautious with our blows." Na'im murmurs anxiously Curious, thinks Na'im, that he should follow the Orc so recklesly, and with few contributions of his own-I wonder how she gained his loyalty? At any rate if I could win over his friendship he could make a valuable puppet within the organisation "An excellent idea young master Bucks! I fear this may be our only hope of escaping this chamber!" says Na'im doing his best to sound encouraging "You have much to fear from our friend here master El-aquiest. Back in Eubric he was a...master criminal! Few of his victims ever saw their asilnant and none recovered their valuables, but now he works for heroica so you have much to fear!" cries Na'im, mentally cursing himself for how stupid it sounded
  14. Can't wait! Do you have any hints for us?
  15. It seems I have a follower! It's good to have some reassurance about Na'ims behaviour on quest 136, since I'm always worried he might have gone a bit too far and started to get annoying for the party to listen to, but more about that once I post my thoughts at the end of quest 136 As for Na'ims alignment...I'd say lawful neutral. Na'im is a logical person and understands the need for rules, and hates the idea of chaos, and generally keeps his emotions in check, but in his world, it is always Na'im that comes first. Either way, I don't really see him as having much of a moral compass, and simply weighing up the options and seeing what would be best in the long term for him.
  16. "Yet you seem to forget master Mihnak, that these fine fellows are his lieutenants, and if we stay around any longer, will be bound by their chain if command to hand us over to him when he returns from the wastes. Forgive me for my impertinence, but we did not come here to make friends with some star elves, no matter how smooth they may be with their words!" Na'im exclaims feeling steadily more exasperated at his companions lack of appreciation of the danger presented by the star elves
  17. "Nothing like a little logic to keep the party in one piece lady Nayasto!" Says Na'im with a demented smile, shaking all over with the force of keeping a cool head "But what logic will use when these star elves try to take in lady Bain and myself in the name of their God, as they inevitably will. Look at the facts presented to us lady Nayasto, we are trapped in a room with four religious zealots, who hate last Bain and myself for what we we represent: do you really believe we can all walk out of this chamber in one piece?"
  18. “Selfishness, greed and lust?” Na’im says incredulously “Nay major, my peoples quarrel with the star elves lies only with their choice of queen, one who sees fit to use Assassins and brute force to enforce her tyranny across Spelesia. Only when a Fenari sits on the throne of Valastra will my people lay down their weapons with good grace. I no longer have the stomach to call myself Fenari upon account of the abuses I have suffered at the hands of my people, but from my own experiences, I would rather help a Fenarian trickster than a star elf-for at least then you know when the Fenarian will betray you! You talk of Gods but I ask you this: Where is your God now? Why did she not come down and protect your territories from destruction by my people all those years ago? Why still has she not removed the Feanarian blight from Spelesia altogether so you can walk the vales in peace once more? You speak of Gods like a child-perhaps these are matters best left to your clerics and astrologers while you focus on bashing heads together, or torturing innocent Fenarians, or whatever else you spend your watches doing.” Na’im finishes in a mocking tone Once he is finished Na’im pauses for breath and restores Germ to full health "I am sure you are men of battle and show great promise on the battlefield but I assure you have met your match. We need but one man and then we shall leave. I would rather things did not come to blows between us, for you all seem great warriors yet so are many among our company, in ways you cannot even imagine. Tell your men to stand down majors.” says Na’im In a friendlier but still unyielding tone
  19. As Na'im confronts Oswians men at the Penitentiary, a strange orange bomb appears at his feet. Feeling a tiny bit more confident against the star elves, he picks it up and slides it into his cloak OOC: Thanks for the lottery Sandy and all the work you do to keep heroica going-keep up the good work!
  20. OOC: very sorry for my inactivity guys! I've been hit quite badly by the cold, so I've been recuperating for the last few days, but I'm much better now.Not that I'm great at logic puzzles in the first place, so I wouldn't be much help anyway! Na'ims hands tighten around the Lucerna Beatus In expectation of a fight. He doubts Kiray will be able to deflect the star elves suspicion but he lets her continue anyway. Instead he turns to Bain and, shifts his cloak so that the badge of the smokemaster is visible to her "flee?" He mouths in her direction
  21. Na'im groans "Creeping around a maze dreamt up by one of the most twisted star elf minds imaginable? I do not recall this being in the job description filed by master Van Cleef!" Na'im sighs and eager to keep his distance from the trapped doors asks: "Dose it appear if any of the other doors have inscriptions upon them?"
  22. "I can safely say your demon friend is being suicidal to go off on his own, without knowing the lay of the land. Even I, have to be cautious. These scorned elves are constantly changing things around, relocating their watchtowers, expanding their borders. Even this cursed prison, they must have enchanted it recently. We can all pray to higher powers and hope they can somehow steer us away from dangers, but with a thousand odd years underground, these hopes are dwindling. If there are higher powers out there, they must have left us to our own demise, or perhaps the gods despise our kind and condemn us to eternal darkness. So, do we simply sit around and plead for the gods for divine interception and forgiveness or do we sink our feet into the ground and do what is necessary for our survival?" Na'im opens his mouth to savagly retort that he gave up on his deity centuries ago but something holds him back "...You will be my prophet Na'im and you will rekindle my people love for their mutual protector and servant...go now in my stead, in the stead of the red angel." Na'im shakes the memory of his disturbing dreams from his head. They were just that-dreams, and there was no way there was a red angel that gaurded over the Feanri. His former religion had ben built on a lie, that he had accepted long time ago Na'im takes a shaky breath. "Very well then Lady Bain, let us go into the lions den, for good or for ill."
  23. Personally I don't really see the appeal. They're both good classes for tanking and healing respectively, but I plan to take Na'im down the shaman route (partly for RP reasons) but also because it's a good all round class. They have decent health (+9 on top of base health) and can deal good damage too (their critical hits are like 3x their wp if I remember and added to their level) and on top of that they can also heal and have special gaurd-what's not to like? It also helps that they're not affected as much by the reworkings of the ether system I'd also like to see people being bolder in terms of their advanced class choices instead of picking the cliché advanced classes
  24. "And who, lady Bain, are you to judge whether something is suicidal or not? You and your friend master Eckmar may have simply got lucky so far and evaded death-some of us however lady Bain, resolve not to take risks in the hope of prolonging their already limited lifespan. If there is one thing I have learnt in all my years, it is that one should never become complacent. Fate is a fickle thing, and yes maybe it would be kinder to believe, as some do, that some higher power controls our destinies, but then again I lost all faith in that thourght a long time ago." Na'im smiles grimly "But I accept your offer lady Bain. I shall take a mead." Which he promptly opens and takes a swig of, making a face as he dose so "Some things do not change no matter how far away we are from home...it seems that heavy and pungent alcohol is one of them...yes it will take more than one glass of Charisian red to remove the taste of this stuff from my mouth when we get back to the hall." Na'im observes
  25. "Now...look here lady Bain...I am...flattered by your high opinion of my character, but I am not as young as I used to be, and my....reflexes have suffered with the passing of the ages...and I am sure that...others among our number may be tougher and so better suited for the job...not that I do not have the best interests of the party at heart of course but...what If someone is waiting for us behind the opening-l do not think I would be able to put up much of a resistance! So, as much as I regret the fate of your lover...I feel it would be wiser to delegate the task to another better suited to suicidal rescue missions" Na'im finishes glancing down sheepishly at his shoes. A drop of sweat rolls Down his neck but Na'im dose not dare wipe if off.
