"Naturally, naturally, aren't we all in this organisation..." Na'im sighs
-
So some of the most heated debatig took place after the event finished?
-
"And who said anything about hostility my friend? My silken tounged compartoriot and I were merely discussing the merits of a particular candidate for the throne-by bringing up the concept of hostility, you make the tone of the conversation intrinsicly more hostile." says Na'im cooly, keeping his face completly free of any emotions
-
Na'im leers at the Imp "Think again little man-it must be three, four years ago now that Jun Ji Pei was capured by the 108 stars of destiny and the heroes of Heroica were sent to rescue him-I say, if all Tao warriors were made of that kind of stuff its a miricale the council of the blue hand was only overthrown last year...Oh, but of course you were there when he was captured weren't you Hybros...why don't you tell us what really happened that day-everyone loves a gripping story after all."
-
"Make no mistake master Whisperer, young master Ji Pei has probaly eaten off silver platters since birth, and never ever has he wished for anything in his life. He has led a life of plenty, and for that reason-good ruler or not-he will not last a day agaisnt Ulric and the Sungold's candidate, but master Holla is a fighter, a fighter for Eubric. He is the only candidate I have seen so far who will be able to stand up for themselves in the harsh politics of Eubric, which regretably, are not as civillised as those of other nations."
-
Wait is the event finished then? I thought it only ended when Sandy closed the topics. If it is, that kinda sucks...Guts' faction got so close to making king Guts a reality!
-
Na'im glares at the Wolfkibg's supportor "Traitorous wolfgang wretch!" he hisses under his breath "Do you not see master Whisperer: the wolfgang want a feeble crescent union candidate for the kingship of Eubric, one that will be too weak to stand up to them. If you value anything in this city master Whisperer, vote for Guts Holla, for with your help, we can till win this, and trust me your vision will not be ignored or neglected in the great man's shadow-the people will get the dignity and freedom they deserve!" Na'im clenches his hand's and glances at his pocketwatch, still counting down the hours to midnight
-
First page of the union topic mate-I think I was the second person to support Guts :) Still I don't see why Sorrow can't jion the union-I mean it's not as if the Ziegfrieds can make him forget all his necromancer knowledge & training, just take away his reputation with them
-
A shadowy figure detaches itself from the crowds at the edges and walks into the middle of the chamber-it is unclear how long he has been listening to the raging debate "I think master Whisperer here is missing the point, and perhaps we all have been analysing this situation the wrong way, for we must firstly look at this situation from the point of view of the people of the hovels, without whom none of us would be here deciding on a man to be king. What did Ulric do for them, to make them his undying followers? Well, he gave food to the hungry, clothing to the naked and he cleared all the other gangs out of the hovels-in short he looked after them and gave the hope-and there lies the simple truth. You see, the people in the hovels don’t want a republic. What do they care about political equality and representation, when they struggle to put food on the table, and are afraid to go out at night? What they really want is a ruler who will protect them and provide for the poor and needy. Are you that man master Whisperer-because the people we are competing against in the race to become king are a wolf headed man with the backing of nearly the entire population of the hovels, and whichever veteran politician the Sungold Alliance decide to elect, with the wealth of some of the richest and most influential families in Eubric behind them-our candidate must be stronger, tougher and more brilliant than any of them." "Now master Holla promises a regime that will be strong, and able to defend its people- what does master Ji Pei, the esteemed princeling and diplomat promise Eubric? Not this-the people of Eubric want a man of action and that man I see in Guts Holla." "Then it is a good job someone among this audience is...allow me tell a story of the last republic to be set up on Olegia. Latcium three years ago, a man named Julio takes control of the senate-do you want to know what happened next?" Na’im mimes slitting his throat "Sic semper Tyrannis-Thus ever to tyrants! Can you promise me the same not happen to your precious republic Whisperer? Are you bold enough to claim that no one on your council will ever feel that lust for a bit more power and will take control? People and power are inseparable master Whisperer-that is how it always has been and always will be. Your republic will burn and die, like every other one that has been set up across Olegia-that is the hard truth of the matter."
-
That actually looks pretty decent-very menacing as you would say. Are the clothes exclusive to LDraw?

Lind this is a disgrace! I demand Na'im be put in the render! He may not have as much rep as some of the other members of the union but I still think he merits a place! In all seriousness though, I would love to see how he turns out if you were to render him-if you have time that is-it may even be enough to get Na'im onto Lind's side, since after all he's only in it for the reward that comes if his chosen candidate becomes king

OOC: This post, fairly obviously, takes place post quest 136 In the darkened corner of the chateau de Shadeux dining room, a lone figure applauds respectfully at the end of Gut’s speech along with the rest of the assembled crowd and makes ready to retire for the night, when he is interrupted by an eccentric figure who bounds over to him "Master Thamir is it-Voctor Cuala of ze guild of invision, at your service-I have heard only good thingth about you vend, you zertinaly did ze guild a great service in thath vasty vookeater business." exclaims the vampire all rather breathlesly Na’im glances the doctor up and down "Truly, I am glad to hear that the guild thinks so highly of me, considering that I did not see a peep out of them for that whole quest." he says coldly "Yes, well…" he vampire shuffles his feet akwardly "I have seenth you here several vimes master Thamir. Do I taketh this to meanth zat you vave decided to support ze union?" Na'im sighs "I have been thinking...this city is broken. The people are terrified-just in the last few months, we have had that triffid business, and before that those vigilante automata under the Eubric knight on the streets. The people demand a leader who they think will protect them. But who should it be? I have sided with the crescent Union, for it is my belief that not only do they have the progressiveness of the Wolfgang that the people seem to desire, but also the credibility and tradition of the Sungold alliance. Now I have just to choose a candidate to back, so here I have been these last few nights listening to the speeches of this candidate and that. It is a dangerous buisness dabbling in politics, many times worse than love or war, and last time I tried that trick back when I was a cleric in Fenario, it almost cost me my life...but, I learnt some hard lessons on my latest trip to Fenario, and I know of my mistakes...this time things will be different." he says with a sense of finality "And tonight? Ze is a good veaker is he vot?" asks the vampire eagerly Na'im looks up again and blinks "Oh, I was thinking very much the same… what be his name?" "Why, Vuts Holla, captain of ze wind zief and a vell respected member of your own organisation" says the vampire immediatly Na’im observes how the crowds eyes never leave the experienced marauder "They like him don’t they-respect him." Na'im murmurs "Not like the other ones-you know the Aoi princeling and that Munchkin fellow-this master Holla actually looks like he has the steel to last more than a day in the cut-throat world of Eubric politics." The vampire strokes his chin "Ze is quite a character for zure…ze former arms dealer, vurned hero and now a politician. Zey say ze will be able to win over the ordinary sailors and dock workers like no one else and for zure, he has the zuthlesness necessary to be king…a good candidate to suporth no?" Na’im smiles knowingly at the vampire and drops his slip of paper into the hands of a nearby servant "My dear doctor, if there is one thing you should know about me, it is that I only ever support the person with the best chances of success, and then claim the credit for it." Na’im places his single vote on Guts Holla as the crescent union candidate for king Na’im whispers to the vampire "You Tell this Guts Holla that he owes me one if he ever makes it to kingship-and that I will be expecting my reward to be a good one."

A pristine letter in ornate and flowing handwriting arrives at heroica hall The black Phoinex inn Moshu city Fenario Father Grogmas, I am writing to you for although I have not been a resident of Eubric for very long, I am familiar with the traition of 'Grogmas' in Baltaok and other cities with a strong Orcish community. In places such as these, it is traditional to write a letter to the spirit of Grog the red, asking for blessings and gifts on close friends and family. Now, I am not a big believer in obscure Orcish practises, but it would be foolsih not to partake in this act of generosity that requies very little work on my part, so without further ado, I present my Grogmas wishlist: To master Boris Burehalv, a copy of the scriptures of Ennoc (The user is lucky when rolling for healing, accessory, suitable for worshippers of Ennoc only), so that by rereading the scriptures he may come to see the emptiness of his faith, as I did with mine long ago, but hopefuly in a better way than I did To dear master Minhak, a Cybernetic brain stem (Max health +3, the user gains the glossolalia and calculating mind job traits, headwear, sutiable for Mihnak only, cannot be de-equipped) in the hope of furthering his quest to find immortality through cybernetic enhancement, and also in a most likely doomed endeavour to make the fellow slightly less brash and pig headed To young master Bobby Bucks Jr, a Shank knife (WP:7 dagger, inflicts bleeding-by-5), a fine and reliable weapon that I hope will serve him well in years to come To master Mortimer (Em), the hero who first greeted me when I arrived at the doors of heroica hall, a Veteran's Badge (Gives access to the hero's respective Veteran job class upon Level 40 without having to have successfully completed 10 quests.). Who knows if he will remember my name, but hopefully this will allow him to further his efforts to become a ‘fine hero’ of lore To my good friend master Germ, a Cloak of Azazot (SP:1 backwear, Darkness-elemental, the wearer can render themselves invisible outside of combat at the QMs discretion, sutiable for Germ only), so that he may continue at what he does best-cheating and thieving. To the lady Miderun, potent Orcish grog (grants the encouraged and inspired effects to greenskins, but the jinxed and encouraged effects to anyone else who drinks it for one battle, consumable), a favourite brew of the Orckin, whose merits I cannot fathom, but I hope she will enjoy it all the same. To the lady Nayasto, a full moon venom (Inflicts the poisoned by 5, blinded, sealed, asleep and confused effects on the target for 3 rounds consumable). One of the last of the late Nicolas Steerspike’s speciality concoctions-I hope she uses it well. Yours Sincerly, Na’im Suladec Se Thamir

"So now there are more of them!" moans Na'im "Now, look here master Coyote." says Na'im suddenly turning buisnesslike "I don't care if you are blind drunk or just plain foolish, but I think we have made it quite clear that we would prefer it if our names was not shouted out for all the world to here. Simply put, we are hunting a group of individuals who do not want to be found, and it would be immensly helpful to our search if you could keep all this under the hat so to speak." says Na'im with a strained smile "Heroica shady my friend...that remains to be seen, based on whether or not you keep your mouth shut and choose not breath a word of our arrival to anyone." Na'im whispers with a cruel laugh "Now where were we..." says Na'im turning back to the patron "And my thanks, for your kind hospitality madam. I assure you, your kindness to us will not be forgotten and will more than make up for your debts to lady Bain I am sure. Though if I may be so bold madam...what debts do you owe the Lady Bain? She is a most queer indivdual and not one whom I feel would accept many a favour." asks Na'im, eager to find out more about the mysterious asassian "Oh, and has master Coyote over there been drinking by any chance?" asks Na'im jerking a finger in the werewolf's direction "I am afraid he has been quite an irritant and most impertinent towards my colleauge and I." says Na'im snobbishly -

As the heroes wander through tthe slums Na'im clenches his fists and hangs behind the party. These people were the ones the clerics stirred up against me just before they forced me into my exile he thinks I wonder if I am still remembered here now...there were a lot fewer foreigners back then, and a lot more angry and anxious Fenarians. Were they to blame for what they did to my palace, my men and my property? Walking among them now, and seeing their suffering, for once in his life Na'im didn't have an answer. Lost in his thoughts Na'im hurries to catch up with the party Na'im rolls his eyes "Well, there goses the element of surprise." he comments to no one in particular "You should know better than to broadcast information like that around freely master werewolf-we are on sensitive buisness. I mean really! This is Fenario: anyone could be listening!" says Na'im irritably "Who is this ignorant fellow anyway master Germ?" says Na'im haughtily "Good evening Milady!" begins Na'im with a bow "My friends and I were reccomended this fine estalbishment by a mutual friend: Bain Ga. You know; asassain...quite tall...wears a hood...? In fact, she informed us that she had arranged that our party could rest here free of charge, during our stay in Fenario-would this information happen to be correct?" -
Sorry I didn't mean to come off as accusive. I too was expecting the quest to be relatively quick, but I've been pleasantly surprised by how well it's gone so far!
-
Whoever says you have to start small? I'm having a great time on the quest! Good news Just don't rush the sets though PJB, they're one of the highlights of the quest for me

Heroica RPG - Quest #136: The Sorcerer's Stone

"It is nothing, nothing at all." says Na'im arily, with a wave of his hand, and a conspicous air of superiority "Though if I were you I would be more inlined to make good use of the items instead of gaurding them with your life." says Na'im wryly Na'im clears his throat and turns suddenly buisnesslike "The Lannisters have been kidnapped miss Polly, by the fiendish Alpeith asassains the creed, working with Oswains men." says Na'im crisply "At first we assumed they were taken to the petinary with you, but later we learned they had been carted to Baltarok, but given the trouble we have caused the star elves at the petinary, it would not surprise me if the Lannisters have been imprisoned in the sealed capitol where security is tighter, and the star elves can keep a good eye on them. The reason I ask, is although that we know Oswain's men are working hand in hand with the creed, they did not take you and the Lannisters together. It sems we are still missing something about Spelesain politics-that or the Creed's act was all an elaborate ruse, and the lannisters are now the bait in one gigantic trap laid for our party." "Of ocurse, of course!" Na'im rummages in his pockets and extracts every last coin he can find and gives them to the were-rat "That should be everything I think". Na'im wraps up the shamanic plate carefully in his bedroll as padding and places it in his bag of holding "A very good night to you master Ttifiwt!" hollers Na'im over his shoulder as he hurrys to catch up with the others as they make their way to the inn The first step to your destiny Na'im Thamir. It may be small but then again, a little goses a long way both in war and in peace. You are the last Brother Na'im Thamir...Do not abandon me now Na'im looks around for the source of the mysterious voice that had been plauging him for weeks, but there is no one there (150-150=0 gold) -

Na'im dose some quick mental arithmetic and winces "Can we make that 90 gold young master Bucks?" says Na'im with a sheepish grin His eyes drift over to Polly who he has not noticed had returned since her rescue from the petinary "Why miss Polly, how...pleasent to see you back with us." he begins, struggling to hide his dislike for the floozy, uneducated barbarion "Truly, I thourght it would be much more difficult to free you from the clutches of the star elves, given that they now know the nature of that which we posess, which in turn makes us one of their most wanted. But answer me tthis miss Polly: why were you not sent to the sealed Capitol with the Lannisters? Were they supposed to be bait, for a trap they are preparing for our company, and we were supposed to learn of the nature of their imprisonment from you, or something more nefarious than even that?" Na'im sighs "But still, there comes a time when one has to stop pondering the past ,and look to the future, so in that case, I feel you should take these miss Polly. Tis' poor repayment for the goods you lost to your star elf jailors, but as my old master used to say, a little goses a long way, in war and in peace." Na'im hands Polly a potion and his pixie dust -

Na'im grimaces at the prospect of having to beg for money off his friends but bows in agreement and puts on a false smile: "It seems We have a deal master Ttifiwt." he checks his pocket watch for the time of day and how long he had to find the required gold "I merely call Fenario the backwater of Olegia, because of its enforced isolation. I would not have felt that you would do a lot of buisness, but what would I know?" Na'im gives a small laugh and shakes his head "I shall return by nightfall master Ttifiwt, but for now farewell." Na'im tips his hat to the were-rat and proceeds to join Bobby, Polly and Elnath at Drala Schmied's Forge "Ah young master Bucks!" exclaims Na'im in greeting "Just the person I was hoping to find! You see I am in a difficult conundrum...." Na'im bites his lip "There is a particular...item in that fine institution Ttifliwt & Gnittat's Customwear that has caught my fancy, but unfortunatly I appear to be...lacking in gold to pay for it. Now, you seem like a fine and generous man of good character, so would you be wiling to lend me 80 gold pieces, so that I can make up the coin needed for the purchase? I promise I shall pay you back when we get our reward at the end of the quest." Na'im mentally curses himself and wishes he were anywhere but here. He then absent-mindedly hands the Lucerna Beautus over to Drala for sale "I believe that will be 15 gold madam..." says Na'im still looking at Bobby expectantly and waitng for his response -
Thanks

I can't find anything concrete about this in the marketplace topic, but can anyone confirm for me that weapons sell for 5 times their WP, and If not how much do they sell for?

"I feel for your loss." says Na'im bowing his head respectfullly "I wish there was...something I could do to help your imports make it to Fenario. But enough of this depressing talk! How did such fine youngs tailors as yourself and your partner end up in Fenario, the backwater of Olegia? You could have made a name for yourselves in the cities of Charis or Brendenton, you know." Na'im turns back to the plate, feeling oddly drawn to the scruffy, uncomfortable looking bit of leather for reasons he could not explain "Can I reserve this item?" Asks Na'im "I am afraid I lack the gold right now to pay for such a piece, but I can make a deposit of shall we say...5 gold if you like?" Na'im extends a hand hopefully -

Na'im sighs and wishes, not for the first time, that his coin pouch was a bit fuller. Instead he absent mindely bruhes his fingerstips along the smooth suface of the shamanic plate and passes the time by chatting with the propeteirs of the various stalls, in a way he passed many a happy hour, back when he was a cleric of the brotherhood of the red angel "I must congratulate you my friend: your cloth is some of the finest I've ever seen!" Na'im exaclaism with a small laugh to the were-rat "Do you import it-I imagine that must be very difficult, given the current political climate in the continent." Na'im says smoothly, careful not to overdo the flattery "I would have thought light leather armouring was more your thing, being a ranger and all master Mihnak." remarks Na'im "But if it's sturdiness your looking for, then that Suthgurd armour looks strong enough to take a fair beating . Still..." Na'im checks the were-rat propeteir is not listening and murmurs to Mihnak "We could make a fortune from this stuff master Mihnak-have you seen how their prices compare to those at Fabian's boutique?!" -

Na'im shrugs "You make good pionts master Van Cleef, but still, you are the only one present who can make good use of this gem, so I insist you keep hold of it for the remiander of our quest." Na'im presses the opal into Elnaths hands "Fare thee well lady Bain." says Na'im raising a hand in farewell. As soon as she is out of sight Na'im turns back to the party "I am not certian Lady Bain is telling us everything. How could she know about the were-snakes unless she had been in contact with them or knew someone who had? And it was a bit convenient that she was strung up right after the nerkastone was stolen. Not only that, but the were-snakes have been on our trail from the start. They found us under the petinary, and who knows how long they've been tailing us for." Na'im sighs "Maybe she is not complicit in all this, but it wouldn't hurt to be sure. Master Mihnak, how dose your feline feel about doing a bit of espionage work?" says Na'im with a wink Na'im meanders over to Ttifliwt & Gnittat's Customwear and inspects the wares "Well, we didn't come this far to let the Nerkastone slip from our grasp to parts unknown. Of couse we'll help you-provided you are still paying of course." says Na'im with a chuckle
