Enceladus replied to Cutcobra's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Don't mention it my insectoid friend" Na'im says sarcastically throwing a winning look in Nalguz's direction Na'im attacks plant beast D from the front row OOC: Dose miracle no longer cost ether then- just basing this off the rules and FAQ thread -

Na'im blinks- he'd missed again! Sighing briefly he gives his spectacles a brief polish and makes sure they were adjusted right. He then repeats his attack for the third time -

Na'im spits some a clod of turf out of his mouth and struggles to his feet- he couldn't remember the last time he's been beaten about this badly Na'im repeats his attack -

Na'im raises an eyebrow "pale human? And what dose that make you madam? By what right do you claim to represent this forest?" He sighs and brings the Lucerna Beautus down on plant beast B from the front row with a grunt "Let me attack towards the end master Burehalv- who knows perhaps the spirit of Lady Luck will shine upon me and a miricale may happen, hmm?" OOC: posting from my phone again so no bold actions for me. I am assuming on rolls of damage, enemies hit with strength equal to their level? Oh and are specials 1-3 decided by die roll? -

Na'im sighs, "very well master Burehalv, I am at your command as ever" As the dog leads the party right into the Druid's arms, Na'im gives a smug look at Minhak "I am not a big one for gloating, but I did tell you he couldn't be trusted" he says innocently At the Druids remark Na'im scoffs: "I am not a human madam, nor would I ever want to be one- and I can hardly believe that you are the legal owner of this woodland" -

"Oh please!" moans Na'im "It is only a dog master Minhak! We have a contract anyway, and for some reason I do not think this dog is going to pay us for our troubles. Besides those theives are probaly halfway back to their hideout by now. We simply do not have time for this" he says firmly folding his arms in defiance "Exactly!" exclaims Na'im, glad for some back up "I do not believe this canine is sincere, after all it all seems a bit too convenient-why would this duid just let him 'get away', but apprehend his master?" Na'im sighs "Minhak these are probaly expert asassians. They have trained all their lives in techniques of stealth-what are the chances this man just happened to 'glance upon' one?" -

Na'im shivers from the cold and stomps back over to the others who were standing outisde the house "Lets get this over with" he says irritably "It seems we are faced with at least two assilnants, who have split up to reduce our chances of recovering the cure- one seems to have fled into the forest, judging from these...stains, and we don't know where the other went, so it seems a logical choice to start searchnig there. And what has that demon got himself into?" he says, looking around for Germ, who seems to have walked off OOC: Just basing this off what Cutcobra has given us- I'm hardly very good at visualising things, so feel free to correct me -

"We could always drag one back here after our endevours to retrieve the cure" Na'im says, not unreasonly, as if he seemed to think it was a plausible option At Ralli's earlier comment he blinks "For yourself thats what I meant master bookeater" he said reassuringly "Many thanks" he says to Boris, after he tosses him a tonic -

Na'im shakes his head in admirartion at the thieves daring "played to the end it seems, but ah what a game!" He turns back to Ralli and gives a sweeping bow "Rest assured master bookeater we will recover your prize concotion-by midnight we shall all be rolling in gold and these assilants shall have got what they deserve! Do you mind if i take one of those tonics master Burehalv?" He turns to Minhak "Did the thieves leave anything on the scene you can identify them by and enable us to track them?" He cranes his neck to look behind Ralli and check on the ex-red assasain -

Na'im lets out a large breath he had been holding inside him. He gives a shaky laugh now that he forest had stopped moving "Well gentlemen I think we scared it off" he says brightly, but then starts coughing as the smoke surrounded the house. He squints and tries to see if anything has changed on the other side Turning back to Boris "Maybe we should head back inside" he suggested, "We'll be no worse in there than we are out here and that fog looks rather dangerous" -

Na'im laughs at Rallis first quote "Oh indeed master bookeater, that is only too true: Here in Fenario there is a saying, Dwarves statue are as short as their memory span!" Slightly taken bac kby allis tone, Na'im dose notghing more thn raise an eyebrow briefly "I see" Na'im says his voice measured in tone "We fenarians are rarely seen outside of our homeland, most of which is underground anyway so I am hardly surprised-I myself am only here, because I am an outcast" Memories flood Na'ims head but he shakes them away-they were too painful to dwell upon As Na'im sees the trees of Eubric forest shaking he swallows "What have I got myself into?" he mutters low enough that only those with acute hearing could possibly overhear. He turns to Boris "Wel then master Burehlav, it seems our first trial is upon us-do we hold the fort or go out to confront them (whoever they are)?" he says with a slight challenge in his tone, as if he was sizing up Boris' sutiability for the position of party leader, and perhaps trying to mask his own fears. -

"Of course there may not be any assasins and we may just have a quiet evening" Na'im says with false enthuiasm "With good reason! There I was, minding my own buisness by the lamp when some..." Na'im pauses for few moments "If I may be so bold what exactly are you?" -

Na'im gives a quizzical smile "I learnt how to give somone a good bash round the head with this-do I need anything else, really? Those who fool around with big swords and call themselves 'champions' or 'blademasters' are little more than fools dressed up in armour. To win a fight all you need is a good weapon and a plan to boot" Na'im sniffs. "Naamh preserve us!" He shakes his head "We'll see who is alive at the end of this evening, and is wishing they were not so greedy with their tonics, shall we?" OOC:Will do Cutcobra its just that rescently I have been posting from my phone where I cannot bold posts, but if there is a major action that needs bolding, I will use my computor. Just to clarify, Na'im isn't the bravest sort, so he is apprehensive at being at the most likely piont of assult. However I have no prefence as to where he is stationed and will defer to whatever WBD says -

Na'im bobs his head, satisfied at the orcs answers and checks the ceiling for any holes before taking his position at the door alongside Boris and Nalguz. He looks rather disgruntled at taking position on the front line. "Do you have any of those tonics lying around my good master bookeater? I am sure Master Burehalv and myself could make good use of them." -

Na'im frowns. "I didn't realise you were a magic user master bookeater- are there any other mysterious talents you would like to tell us about or are you just the simple alchemist you claim to be? Either way you seem to be very skilled with scrolls." "The reason I ask about the house is for the reasons you have mentioned. The house is hardly particularly defendable. And this Cuala fellow- wouldn't he stand to benefit from stealing this cure and selling it on? But no matter what has passed has passed. I don't suppose you have a floor plan of the house?" -

"Nice place" Na'im mutters under his breath as the party stepped inside. Besides the house's unusual decorations it was as cold as a crypt Upon hearing the Orcs explanation Na'im relaxes slightly- this job didn't seem so bad. "It all seems perfectly clear master bookeater. But I have some questions that must be asked. You haven't told anyone about your efforts here have you? And your nephew here-who else knows he is here tonight apart from us? Oh and do you plan to conduct your experiments from this house?" -

Na'im frowns certain he has said this before "Na'im Suladec ne Thamir at your service" he says in answer to Boris' question "And I'll take your word for it my friend- my own days as a cleric all seem so long ago now..." -

Na'im gives a small laugh "Do you recit from scripture often Master Bruhalv? How very quaint." he indicates with his hand that Boris should go first "after you, my friend" and then follows the vampire into the old house -

Na'im flinches as the other two men appear out of the darkness. "We'll met my friends" he says brightly in greeting "good night for it don't you think?" he asks, drawing his cloak tighter "My name is Na'im Suladec ne of the house Thamir, but please, just call me Na'im." He eyes the house again and turns to Boris " you were nominated party leader I recall, what should our course of action be?" He asks, beggining to shiver from the cold -

Forget what Na'im had said earlier. He was no longer such a big fan of the city atmosphere. In the short walk to crescent hill he'd nearly been mugged three times, and each time he'd had to wave the magic light of the Lucerna Beautus in the theives faces to scare them off. Not only that but it was cold and the hysterical rumours he'd heard about the terrifying foxband and the witch barbapapa, no longer seemed quite so distant now in the dark of the night. With that in mind he lifted his staff up, for a bit more brightness and inspected the old house. He decided it was probaly best to wait for the rest of the party, and drawng his cloak around him he huddled up trying to keep warm in the light of the streetlamp, and praying some other delinquent didn't try to rob him before the rest of the party arrived. OOC: Thanks for accepting me on the quest Cutcobra! Considering how you play Heckz, it looks like this quest should be fun. Please also rememeber to note my inventory changes from my trip to the marketplace -
Na'im breathes deeply upon leaving the hall. The heroes were all good company he supposed, but there was nothing like the atmosphere in a cosmopolitan city and Eubric was the king of all cosmopolitan cities. Upon entering the marketplace, he approaches a small stall, with tools, each one gleamingly polished, stacked up neatly to one side. He makes a show of inspecting the wares, before settling on a bedroll, and handing over the approiate coinage, he then moves on to a stall set slightly apart from the others, and much more messily aranged, with bombs and other explosive devices scattered on the floor around it. With a gloved hand he slips a smoke bomb into his cloak and upon paying, sets off in a brisk walk on a course for triad park and from their, to Crescent hill. 10-5-5=0 gold

Looknig at the questboard Na'im allows himself a small smile, looking pleased with himself for being included on quest 128. He makes a show of getting to his feet and dusting himself down but, as he dose so he hesitates and turns to Em. He could hardly call him a friend, but it seemed rude just to leave without saynig anything "Safe travels to you, my good Em" he says with a small tip of his hat "And I wish you luck in whatever heroic situatioins you may find yourself in" he finishes and shoulders his haversack, leaving the hall for the first time into the big wide world...

Na'im raises an eyebrow when he sees the two new quests on the quest board and neatly pens his name under quests 129 and 130 before returning to his seat
-
"Well said I suppose." Na'im says flatly before becoming deeply absorbed in a grain of wood on the table. He hoped all heroes weren't like this or the scheme he had planned out wouldn't work at all...it seemed he had some thinking over to do.
